July 29, 2013 Wonder Alaska

Happy New Year! With the holidays over, I'm ready to get started on my FE gifts! As a newbie to doing the FE, any idea how many folks I should start planning for? :confused:I have tons of ideas and I just want to make sure I don't need several extra checked bags or my DH may want to kill me!:rotfl2:

That's a very good question. :confused3 It's kinda hard to say this early in the game unfortunately.

Typically, closer to the cruise (30 days?) fish extender lists are closed to new additions.

I know...doesn't help you much.

Has anyone found "cheap" parking at/near the terminal in Vancouver?

Did u look through the Vancouver FAQ thread? There might be something there, it is now 141 pages long. Sorry I don't have a answer. We are flying I and are using public transportation while we are there. Good luck! I hope more people start joining in on the thread.

How's everyone doing??

We survived the artic air that we had last week. We got a small reprieve with temps going into the 50s yesterday and the 60s today. But the rains are coming and will bring the temps down closer to normal. I was afraid that I was going to have cancel this trip. A bunch of our schools are starting back to school earlier in August, which I was afraid would move our August inservice date up. Thankfully that didn't happen. I would have been out 1800 for air. I was kicking myself for not getting insurance. Speaking of air we also had to rebook our flights, because they changed the air schedule. Now that the holidays are over it is time to start planning excursions. Still hoping that more people will join this thread.

How you and your family? Did you have a good holiday? Have you picked excursions to do?

We just booked for three (mom, dad and DD13) on Wonder 7/29. This is our fourth DCL and fifth cruise overall. I've had great success booking a few excursions myself in the past and want to see if anyone here is interested in splitting cost of Juneau fishing/whale-watching excursion with us. Maybe something else too.

Hi All, have been away for a bit, but ready to start with the planning. I have 2 excursions booked so far, and still need airfare and hotel, etc. We are doing the Whales, Bears, and Glaciers tour in Juneau with Alaska Galore, and kayaking ing Ketchikan with Southeast Kayaks. We are interested in a FE group if one is getting together. It is my DH's birthday while on board, any ideas of what to do to celebrate?

How about a brunch or dinner in Palo or a couples massage to celebrate DH birthday.

Have my eye on a whale watching/fishing excursion in Juneau. Looking to split costs. Message me if you are interested.

We booked this cruise 2 years ago and around September it looked like we wouldn't be ale to cruise (17 in All) - due to $$. But that's all changed now and we are in! Did anyone create an FE list?:)

Yep. Short list so far though:

FISH EXTENDER LIST

5137 Erin, Jon, Mack (DS5)
6113 Tom, Kristi, West (DS9)
6132 Carla, Gilchrist, Lakyn (DD7)

Just booked the Wonder to Alaska. Cruising will be me, DH, and DD14. We were on the Wonder back in 2006. DD14 has been dying to go back on the ship ever since. They didn't have FE back in those days. What exactly is a FE and how does one participate?

Welcome!!

Fish Extender is basically a gift exchange. You participate by signing up on this thread, then hanging a Fish Extender outside your door and waiting for the gifts to roll in. Oh, and you have to put something in all of the other FEs on the list. :)
