Hello all.
hope you all have a great cruise.
we have decided to cancel and do something else this summer.
Took a lot of deliberating............. however, we decided we are farily close to Eurpoe and can do the maj of ports in a weekend/5 day braek.

sure it will be great.

Sorry, to clarify, more people on thids thread have PM'd me, I will not hear from DCL until 30 days.

A cruiser is doing the same for my 2008 Repo, and has had the same response exactly.

I reviewed the DCL excursions last night and I made some final decisions.....I'm going to stick with that if I get in and then make itinerate plans if I have to......we're going with beach and water as much as possible....


?????? What are people doing about Rome? What is the preferred tour for that port??

Hi all,

Hope you are all ok. I dont know about anyone else but I'm really enjoying doing all the reading and planning for this holiday. I have my 1st and 2nd choice excursions in my wish list. I got a new set of luggage and I'm looking forward too, but also apprehensive about making the excursions on the 29th.

I've also thought of a couple of things that we need to discuss further.
1) Grab bag - Are we setting a cash limit to what we put in? Also does the contents have to be from our home town/ country?
2) When are we going to exchange the bags?


What do you guys think??

It's just past 1am here, we have been fighting with the computers for over an hour.

DCL web site keeps timing out, "site temporarily busy", or you just get the swimming mickey head fish and then nothing ever happens.

We did manage to book a few things but at the moment the booking came online VIP Pisa was not even listed - it was the first thing I looked for.

We could not get any Palo's for 5-6 people, it seems there were zero 5-6 reservations open. We were able to book dinner and brunch.

The other excursion I was interested in "Convertible car tour" in Villefranche either sold out very quickly or was never even listed.

Maybe they have just started holding back spots on the very low capacity but very popular excursions - who knows??

The spa ressies - you pick a time and hit reserve and then it keeps telling you that it just gave that time away, you have to pick another. I guess you have to be really quick!

Here are some excursion times I took down, I know some people had been asking about what times the excursions are:
Palermo for kids 8:30-12:30
Pompeii for families 7:45am - 6:15pm
Maddalena Archipelago 8:45am-3:15pm
Lerici Castle 8:30 - 2pm
Marseille little train 9:15 - 12:15
Monaco little train 7:45 - 12:45

Some of the shorter excursions had choices of a morning or afternoon time.

Anyway, happy to be sailing - looking forward to it.

I finally got a reply (since I emailed two others previously) - they have taxi, vans and busses (up to 54 people).

Just to confirm the party interested in the private area of Paloes booking, I am in correspodance with DCL on this, but they cannot confirm until 30 days pre cruise, and you will be booking in two weeks online.

To help I have requested first sea day at 11.30am for brunch/Lunch. 29th.

They are usually in a few locations where the DCL trips go from I presume you could take them.

Now I going to take information from my own E.mails and also from a cruiser on the 2008 E/Bound Panama trip who has also been in touch with DCL and also sought help of Dreams.

1/ Go ahead and try to book Palo's for yourself, DCL also encourage you to do this.
2/ I will not know until 30 days before cruise, but they havent said-No. I Presume thats a good sign.
3/I have requested Sunday 29th 11.30am, put that in your plans, its a request, but maybe if you wish to double dip, go for another day, for Brunch.
4/In summer 2006, I was in the private area, we had a great time, they really looked after us well, above Palo's usual high standards, cost was still the same.
5/ I still had my own brunch a different day, and was able to keep it.
6/ The 2008 correspondance has been the same as mine, but did say, you 'could' cancel your own brunch after confirmation.

Nothing guaranteed, but, the fact I am in correspondance, and they havent said no at any point gives me confidence, for example if someone else had requested that time you would have thought they would say NO now.

I presume if some VIP, booked now and requested it, thats when we would get bumped.

...the person at Disney Cruise Lines who schedules the Palo private room. Approximately 30 days prior to the sailing, they will contact (me) if we do get the private dining room. They will require a list in the near future however of the fourteen guests that you will be bringing with name and reservation number. It is recommended that you all get individual reservations,
