We are all booked for the July 28th 11 day cruise. This will be our second cruise with Disney. We are flying into Barcelona on the 25th and getting some site seeing before hand. If anyone else on this thread has similar plans please let me know. It will be four of us. Our kids are 19 and 18. In fact our son turns 18 on the first day of the cruise.:cool1:
Started looking at things to do in each port. This is our first trip to Europe, so we are a bit overwhelmed.
Looking forward to meeting additional people on this thread and having some fun on the cruise.

Welcome!! We are travelling in a group of 18. My son turns 18 on Aug 3rd!! We are so excited. This trip is his graduation gift from High School!! Is your son going off to college in the fall? Daniel is hoping to go to VA Tech!!

This is our first trip to Europe as well. I really can not wait!!

Welcome to the disboards and welcome aboard!

This will be our fourth cruise with DCL. My sons will be 21 and 19 and my daugher 14.

I am always curious as to how you found us "the board". Where will you be flying from? Have you looked at the excursions yet? Anything of interest?

I have not looked at them since they came out recently. Palermo we are doing on our own and spending the day with family. I think we narrowed two other ones down. Need to check that list again.

Hi and welcome to our thread:goodvibes

We get to Barcelona on the 24th July and are doing some sight seeing etc.

What date does everyone else arrive? We are 4 days early and we dont have a long flight time this year. My nerves wouldn't stand it, cutting any finer !:scared1:

2 yrs ago we had an 11 hour delay going to Wdw and it was not nice.

take care

We get in on SAT the 28th of July at 12:50pm BCN Time. I hope we have not cut it too close. We will go right to the Magic and stay on board once on board!!

I think we get back on Wednesday Aug 8th and our flight home is Friday Aug 10th. We have decided to stay in Barcelona and sight see for those two days. We have not made any hotel reservations yet. Is that a problem? I think I will need two rooms. We are 6 total, DFIL (72 Years Old), DH, me, DS18, DD13 and DD11. I was thinking of two rooms, 3 guys in one and the 3 girls in the other? Are there family suites? What should I expect to pay? I would like to stay near the beach.

We have looked at the excursions and have narrowed down the selection to a few per port. Rome is the big one for us. We will probably do the VIP tour. We will be checking other options as well as those through DCL. We are flying in from New York, being Long Islanders.

Hey all, I'm not officially posting b/c still no passports.............we were away and then I got alittle flu............we are away again this w/e then passports top the list.............I promise next Saturday(1/13) is it!!

Welcome newcomers............HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!! I agree, it's getting closer...........we've been on several DCL trips.....2 Westerns, 1 Eastern, 1 3Day and the West Coast trip (so we are lifers!) I can wait to be back in that cabin while cruising the Med!

First of all:

:cheer2: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL :cheer2:

After we have done the 11-night Southern Carribean Cruise, we're booked on the 11-night Mediterranean Cruise departing on the 28th of July!!

FlyingDutchMan.JPG

Finally we can cruise on a Disney ship without a flight of at least 9 hours!! On the 28th we we step on board of our plane in Amsterdam in the early morning, since we live in the Netherlands! It's just about a 2 hours flight for us.

Is there any one else, like us, flying in from Europe??

Like last time I'll be travelling with my parents (DM59, DD61 at that time).

We hardly can't wait until we will enjoy cruising with Disney again!!!

Me 2- how nice will that be!.
Still planning on arriving a couple of days before and doing some exploring in Barcelona.
Does anyone know what time we can board?, i know we have to be out of our hotel by 12 but wasn't sure whether to go straight to the ship?

As for shore excursion....... not sure, i hope that disney do decide to post the booklet to the uk?, think we will book a couple through disney and then some direct, or just stay close to port, when there a beach nearby? any ideas on this?

Andrew, what is tendering?( have a feeling i should know....... but don't!:confused3 ) thanks
Best wishes
Ruth

1/ My guess will be the same as the Port canaveral ones say 12 noon as they disembark ealier at 6.45am so a good turnaround time.

2/ Tendering is small boats take you from the cruise ship to the port, the ship doesnt actually 'port' it drops its anchor just outside the port, and you cannot just walk off, you will have to go to a location in the ship to get a tender ticket and then you are taken off in rotation until they annouce open tenders late morning. Shore trips booked through DCL would get priority.

According to DCL site we tender in at two ports and moor up at all of the others.

Hi all,

Do you ever feel like dcl telephone operators dont know what they are talking about?

I was reading info on the dcl website about checking in and it states "If you have booked a Barcelona hotel on your own, please call Disney Cruise Line® at (800) 395-9374† and select option #1 to learn when and where to check in for your voyage and to receive information about your departure to the Port of Barcelona

so I just called them (bearing in my that its an international call and not cheap) and was put on hold for ages and the op said you can find the info on our website - I disagreed and repeated what the website said. She then went away again and when she came back she said we board your cruise @ 3pm and and DCL reps will be at the airport until 3pm. But i wont be at the airport I explain again I am flying in 4 days prior to the cruise. She then siad the termial opens @ 12. At this point I think why did I bother?

I am just going to wait and find out what the other disers do on the cruises before ours !!!

I only phoned in the first place because thier website to me too !!!:headache:

Sorry guys...can you tell I am excited?

Like many of you we're really counting down the days 'till we can go on board again.

We will be arriving on the 28th of July in the early morning. We have the first flight from Amsterdam to Barcelona. Scheduled arrving time in Barcelona is 8:55am. Disney representatives should be waiting for Disney Cruisers at the airport from about 9.30am.

Are there any other singles (age between 27-37) cruising with alone of with family like me? Maybe we can gather up of a great meeting? :wizard:

Happy New Year to everyone! Has everyone been reading all those shore excursions and is your head spinning like mine??

Can't wait to see everyone!!
