Joann, I didn't realise you'd miss us so much - or was it- you were frightened we'd be talking about you:lmao:

Sorry only joking - glad you got a Palo res!

I think you'll be pleased you did that night - as I read they pushed dinner back that night because of all the excursions getting back form Rome!.
(wow that sounds usa speak "pushed dinner back"

:lmao: Dave said the other day - Im speaking American -because of all the time I'm spending on the boards.:rolleyes1
Thx but I booked this back on our first day of making ressies..............we're scheduled for 8 with the Rents...............Very American, BTW!!!:rotfl:

Yes it will be next summer -we have no dates yet, but Im hoping to be there for my birthday .

We were doing 8 nights NY then 8 nights Orlando- not sure how I'll fit in Charlotte, but Emma my friend says we have too!
8 nights NY -2nights Charlotte-6nights WDW!:rolleyes1
When's your Bday?

Ok, we're off to another BBQ (it's very popular this time of year.........) and then to the local casinos with some extended family.............C U all soon!!:lmao:

I sealed up the grab back last week. Definitely location inspired - I think whoever gets it will be pleased with the selection.

I feel the same way about my grab bag..it's a good feeling.

Interesting. Teen styles around here are no longer as baggy as a few years back. Lots of cargos now.

I wish they would go back to cargos. I see that a lot in the States now...I'm still looking at the baggy, saggy look....which was never a good look.

Check out www.pacsafe.com for a source for secure wallets/pouches, etc. They have a number of innovations - like hiding wires inside straps to make them cut-resistant. I picked up a travel wallet that can be chained to your belt.

Thanks for that site, I ordered a wallet waist pack today.

I picked up a pair of these http://www.teva.com/ProductDetails.aspx?g=m&categoryID=336&productID=6670&model=TERRA-FI+2 based on the recommendation of the salesperson at REI (not one of the "fresh out of high school" sales guys, but rather one of those "I've been here forever and seen everything" older guys). He said it's the one he uses himself, and I don't think I've worn a more comfortable pair of sandles - no break-in at all.

Tevas are great. You'll be able to dance, jump, sing....maybe not sing...but certainly dance, jump and walk in those.

Hello everyone

Lynn

Have a great time at Wimbledon. Congrats to your school for the good review.

Hi Everyone checking in again. I had a really bad week. It's ending on a positive note though.

We drove the boys south last Saturday. On Sunday morning Jon was working on his mom's swamp coolers. They are up on the roof, so she was down below trying to get things for him, turn water on and off, etc. Well she fell down and hit her head on a rock and broke her arm. My SIL took her to the ER, being a nurse she could get her through faster.

As if that wasn't enough. Just after they left for the ER, I noticed bees had eaten a whole in her wall and it looked like they were nesting. I pointed it out to Jon when he finished the coolers. Pest control came out. They said they were african-ized honey bees. I'm doubting this though because when they came back the next day to remove the 45lb hive, they didn't wear suits. But the during that time we were all really concerned for her and the animals.

So - I'm really dissapointed about the whole scene. My biggest issue if of course that she is hurt and all the problems she is going through with her HMO. But, we were hoping the kids would get to spend a few weeks with her before the cruise. That would allow us to get a lot done around here. So I am behind by about 4 days on what I need to do. And we might have to drive south again before the cruise to help again. As you all know - the clock is ticking and we don't have a lot of time before that day comes.

So I will do my best to get caught up with what is going on around here. I think I saw someone putting together a list of families participating in fish extenders. Count us in.

I hope your mil is feeling better.

Second major pirate. pirate:

Congrats on the major pirate!

Here's a :headache: moment for you all!

Today is my DS's birthday - I never made the connection. He, last I heard was on his way to Vegas. Alas - we are still not talking but like a good and maternal mother - I called his voicemail and left a nice sweet message asking him if he'd like to come pick up his presents. That the dogs and I would still like to see him nevermind our differences.

DD14 got him an LA Dodger's History book. MIL gave him $100 and I bought him an 80 gb Video ipod. He never answered. Oh well, young men can be stubborn. I hope he's lucky though - 1000s of couple getting married today can't be wrong, right? :confused3

I hope things work out for you.
Yes, my oldest daughter and I will be there today -- it's a long one at Giants Stadium, starting at 1 PM and going probably until 11 or later . . . should be a lot of fun and luckily no rain

predicted.[/QUOTE

Sounds like quite an adventure. I can't wait to hear about it.

We're Red Sox fans here in the Cayman Islands too. I got my DH and DS t shirts that said -" my favourtie baseball teams are the Red Sox and whoever beats New York." :cheer2: They wear them proudly. Sorry NY Fans.
By the way my son's baseball team won their first game at the Disney Salute to Baseball tournament in Orlando yesterday, they were over the moon. They had lost their first 3 games. Today they're all at Animal Kingdom riding Mt Everest again and again and again. It's given my DH plenty of time to phone home and chat. :)

We are Yankee fans! I hope they pull closer to the Red Sox and make the second half of the season more interesting.
Conrats to your son's baseball team.

We have booked a day room at a local hotel for the Olbia day. We will be doing a beach and pool day at the Hotel Romazzino in Porto Cervo.

This is a terrific idea. How much was the day room? How far from the port is the hotel?

Are you back from Giants stadium or did you take a laptop? Is it great?

Tevas are great. You'll be able to dance, jump, sing....maybe not sing...but certainly dance, jump and walk in those.

Actually it's funny - I got these after returning a different pair of Tevas that I ordered online. It was the exact opposite experience. One of the strap attachments near the ankle stuck out just a bit - and at exactly the wrong location for my foot. Handn't gone 10 steps before I was in extreme pain.

So I guess the secret to buying shoes/sandles online is to only do so to replace the exact same pair/model you already have. First time it's important to really try them on properly in a store.

As far as jumping and singing goes. I'm definitely not known for dancing or jumping. As to whether I can sing or not - well, I don't recall ever receiving a compliment in that area either. But it won't stop me from trying if they're still doing Karaoke on board :scared1:

beautiful dog, how did you do in the competition.

Horrible. I had a wild boy on my hands. But he still managed to take 3rd and 4th place. I shouldn't have competed while I was doing all the trial work. I couldn't focus plus being tired. On his jumpers run, he kept checking in with me asking "where are we going next?" which means I wasn't giving him enough information and giving it late. I basically worked all this week cleaning up the paperwork and finally got it all mailed on Friday. So now I'm in major catchup mode.

Two questions for all you wonderful DISer's and don't have the time or will to look back through 800 pages of posts ;)
  1. Is anyone staying at the Hesperia Presidente the night before the cruise?
  2. Is anyone going to Paris the day we arrive back in port and staying at Disneyland Paris?

You don't have to go through all the posts. Just look on the 1st page at post 10 and 12. Most of the important information is there, including hotels pre and post cruise. I know there are people at the hotel you asked about, I just don't remember who.

Ok, what is everyone wearing for Pirate Night? DH & I are not into costumes so what might be some low-key ideas for the night. Normally, we probably wouldn't do anything, but you folks are so full of fun, we don't want to be left out!:dance3:

Maryann

Wait, I just had a brainstorm. I can make a pirate sash out of TP, and a hat and a spyglass out of the empty cardboard tubes............:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My family are all wearing Pirate t shirts ( very easy to find here) and then we'll put on the bandanas that they give out. I had to find a pirate shirt that mentioned rum and drinking before my DS (17) would agree to any sort of dress up. We're traveling for 3 weeks and I don't want to pack anything that I won't wear a few times ( except the dress for formal night).
Because of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies there are a lot of pirate T shirts available. If anyone has a hard time finding one let me know we could probably wrap the entire ship in Cayman Islands Pirate t shirts if need be.pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
