:) For organizing the kids swap

I realized, that list make it looks like I have five kids, but Elizabeth and Julia and my nieces, the other three are all mine

Oh.. I thought they were all yours !!! I still think you are fantastic for doing this with even three children!!!! Kids are what life is made of!!!!:flower3:

We have booked a day room at a local hotel for the Olbia day. We will be doing a beach and pool day at the Hotel Romazzino in Porto Cervo.

I love this idea!!!!!

Agree Salliehas worked hard on this, I only have one weekend left to buy stuff so need to know by Friday 13th.

Andrew, for arranging the kids bags, (which I love doing and is no work at all) and being so witty, and most importantly, not using your credit card.... do you think you can arrange for a quick meeting with Prince William...:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We just booked through the hotel website, it is a starwood hotel - and gorgeous if you check on the pics on their site.

So happy I got a mini-pirate!

I was typing but watching the tennis with one eye and didn't even realize it was pirate time.

We are going to play on the beach, have lunch there, maybe swim in the pool, then go back to the boat.

We are the exception to the rule on this cruise, we are planning on very little "big" sightseeing, because all of our kids are so young, and I lived in Rome for three months so I have seen alot of the big attractions.

A nice day at the beach will be relaxing. We spoke to someone yesterday who just got home from a DCL Med cruise and they said with little kids, the most important thing is to pace yourself, really just go for the highlights.

Pixie dust,

Susy

DH came across this and I thought I'd share. For anyone that is very sun sensitive, Rit dye makes something called Sun Guard. It helps protect clothing from harmful UV rays. By washing clothes with this it takes a typical white tee shirt with an SPF of 5 to an SPF of 30! You only have to do it once. We are washing all our shirts in this.

It is endorsed by the American Cancer association and has the Good Housekeeping seal of approval. Here's a link:

Maryann

Thanks Maryann that's great advice. I'll use it year round. Living in the Caribbean and being fair sun protection is a constant way of life. I'm so tired of looking at my 12 year old son's red face after a long day of playing when he 'forgets' to put on more sunscreen.
Now if I could just wash his face in the Rit think how much time I would save every day!

Ah but Will's is going to get engaged to Kate soon, and 'Arry is with Chelsea, not the football club!

Witty?:rotfl2:

Susy, what are you planning during the Rome stop? My DH doesn't think my daughter will be able to manage the full day of sightseeing in Rome so he suggested I take the 2 boys and go on our own and he would stay behind but that makes me so sad to think of him and her missing everything. I'm trying to find a better solution for them.

My Son and I love trains so on Olbia day we are doing the DCL train trip, it shoud make a change to all the days with the cars.

We hope to go on the various trains in Barca on our pre cruise week.

The Olbia one looks very old, slow and bet doesnt run to time, so slightly better than our Central Line then!

IIts not over till the priest says.. I now pronounce you prince and princess!!!! I still have a chance !!!!! I plan on getting a few face lifts, liposuction and things lifted here and there before we meet- so anytime after lets say January will be fine!!!:cutie: :cutie:

thank you :flower3: I know you would have preferred a nice bottle of wine but the smilies are behind the times on that front.
I don't know about William and Kate....time will tell.

and what about Jimmy!

Do you think if we go together we could get a discount??

Rome is the only stop where we are going to do a full day with the kids, but only that one day.

We booked a private car/driver/guide and are going to try and do some of the sites and balance it with some "play time" for the kids - chasing birds in a piazza, etc.

I would have done our "big day" in Florence, if not for the driving distance from the ship. Florence was twice as far and it just wouldn't be fun for the kids to spend so much time in a car. We aren't going into to Florence at all, although my mother and her husband are spending the day there with a private car/driver/tour guide.

If Rome starts to turn toward the dark side, I have printed out all the info for the great water park in Citavecchia and we may end up there by the end of the day! That's my backup plan - an Italian waterpark! :rotfl: Our kids LOVE waterparks - we were just in Utah for 4th of July and we went to one there called Seven Peaks. Much smaller than the ones in California!

I really think all your plans are marvelous- If my family had been there before, I would have joined you at the water park and at the hotel!!!
But I think Andrew will miss me too much if we are away from him and his family for more than 10 minutes !!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

What's the info on the waterpark, that may be an option for us too....going to Rome and ending up at a waterpark..who would have thought:rolleyes: What are you doing at the stop in La Spezia? My daugter is special needs and when things start to go downhill they go at a pretty rapid rate , I'm not sure how all the long car rides will go over.

Poor Jimmy!:sad2:

Yes 'just' a few rows back, 'just' to ensure the press are confused, ( not that hard) and everyone else gets the message.

Hi Sandra -
Feeding Hills is a suburb of Springfield. We border Somers, Connecticut.
We are both Red Sox (and Patriots) fans. :cool1: :cool1:
We will be at the meet: wouldn't miss it - see you there!
You can't miss me - I'm a redhead... :shamrock:

I know where Somers is. I graduated from UConn and travelled back and lived in Easthampton, MA and spent a lot of time at UMASS. So I travelled through Somers, CT many times. Our oldest son and his wife are living in Enfield, CT now.

We are also Red Sox and Patriots fans so we have even more in common. Besides that some people think I have red hair. But I'll only admit to red highlights.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

See you soon,

Sandra

Is anyone else planning on skipping some shows, like we are?

It's hard to decide what to do and what to skip.

We have made a big spreadsheet of all of us and what we want to do.

For shows, we are going to When Mickey Dreams and Golden Mickeys for sure. Any others that you feel are "can't miss"?

We did the same thing. We have a large calendar filled in with all the things we want to do, the things we'd like to do if we feel up to it at the time and stuff that is happening but we probably won't do. The shows are some of the first things crossed off the list. We can see most of the shows on our next DCL Cruise but will probably not be in the Med. again.

We've heard good things about the vantriliquist and the last night is usually pretty good, and don't mess the crew talent show it is really funny.
Ohter than those we'll probably skip the shows.

If anyone has heard good reports of other shows please let me know. We don't wnat to miss something if it's really good.
