Sorry about the redundant multi-quote explanation . . .

I'll probably not be on again today, because of the Live Earth concert. The funny thing is that I've received about 10 emails reminding me not to add to carbon emissions, and not to take a car . . . so we will take the subway to the Port Authority Bus terminal (which I have never, ever been to -- everytime I've passed it it's looked like a place for bums to hang out!) and take an express bus to Giants stadium, and then the reverse on the way back. Also, we were asked to wear something green and I never, ever wear green, so I have been forced to borrow from my 15 year old. Therefore I am going to this concert, by way of the bum's stop at the bus terminal, in a Green Day "Kiss me, I'm punk" shirt!

  • Open an account with photobucket.com.
  • There will be a place which says UPLOAD
  • Click on that and it will take you to your computer pictures.
  • Open and save that one and upload.
  • In Photobucket go to my album.
  • Copy the <IMG> line and paste it into your normal post.

MULTI QUOTE

At the right hand bottom side of each post it will say QUOTE the next one has a '',,'' click on that and all the posts you wish to quote in the same way, then finallyQUOTE the last one as normal; and all the quotes come up and you can add in your bit

Thanks Andrew. How do I get my photo on the page with all the other people on this board where it says meet who you're cruising with back at the beginning of the thread?

What a riot, take a photo. I get nervous using the subway in Washington DC which looks much bette than the Port Authority bus terminal. The whole day sounds like a fun adventure. Have fun. We'll be watching on TV.

OK - I'm probably late again - but they have changed. That will teach me to stay off for 2 days. Julie got all changed over again.

And on another note - got our Paris Museum Pass packages on Thursday. They are nice. THey even include coupons for a free appetizer at the HRC in Paris. A mini Map of Paris that is about the size of 1/2 a busines card. A larger Paris map and a Paris Pass Couvher Booklet that includes:

1 ticket for the Open Top Sightseeing Bus,
Tour Montparnasse,
Opera de Paris, Palais Garnier
Espace Dali
Roue Libre Bicycle hire
Fragonard's Perfume Museum  (maybe I can now cancel DCL's)
Chez Clement (restaurant)
Bateaux Pariisiens 1 hr Cruise
The History of Paris Exhibition
Paris Wax Museum
Le ToitDe La Grande Arche
Roland-Garros Tenniseum (stadium)
Free gift from the Galleries Lafayette
HRC free appetizer
Another appetizer from L'ateliet Renault
and a free cell phone rental for the length of the pass

Also, gives a the top 10 places to see with the Paris Pass:

1. Musee de Louvre
2 Open Top Bus Tour
3. Musee d-Orsay
4. Bateaux Parisiens River Cruise
5. Cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris
6. Arc de Triomphe
7. Tour Montparnasse
8. Centre Pompidou
9. Le Pantheon
10. Chateau de Versailles.

All in all - if it cuts down on standing in line for tickets - I'm glad I bought them. I'm sure I can be persuaded now to stay up late or go all day. I should be used to it by then.

OH yeah - forgot - unlimited use of public transport (Covering Paris Zones 1-3) for the entire 4 days of the pass.

Sounds like a great trip. Paris is one of my all time favourite cities. If someone gave me a free trip that would be where I chose to go. Don't forget the sandwich Jambon at the Eiffel tower...for some reason I love those. It's a slice of ham on a baguette but it's good.
I still haven't gotten on the Disney cruise web site, I've been trying since 6 am this morning and yesterday and the day before....I should just give up I suppose and call.

I will post this a few times for those who missed the original posts:

Children's gift bags
.... If you would like your child to participate in the kid gift bag exchange, please send me a PM as well post here if you like. I am going to match up girls and boys as close to their ages as possible. So, please send names and ages.
It will be $15-20.00 dollars- one gift per child, those who have more than one child, if this is too much, please let me know and we will change it to 10.00 dollars, although here in the US, 10.00 will not get you much!

Hi Everyone -

This is my 2nd post YEAH!!! :yay:
It's very hard to keep up with you guys!!! :confused3
I admit it - I'm a lurker :surfweb: I don't have a computer at home so I can only check on your chats while I'm at work... Anyway I am SO excited I can barely stand it. I'm driving everyone I know crazy - all I talk about is getting ready for the cruise, shopping for the cruise, packing for the cruise etc etc etc. I'm driving my husband crazy :rotfl2: because every day I come home from work with some new printed off info... packing list, travel tips, airline baggage limits. I read the blogs on allears.net and I can't wait to experience Italy and France.
Can't wait to meet you all. Take Care - See you on 7/28

Here's a :headache: moment for you all!

Today is my DS's birthday - I never made the connection. He, last I heard was on his way to Vegas. Alas - we are still not talking but like a good and maternal mother - I called his voicemail and left a nice sweet message asking him if he'd like to come pick up his presents. That the dogs and I would still like to see him nevermind our differences.

DD14 got him an LA Dodger's History book. MIL gave him $100 and I bought him an 80 gb Video ipod. He never answered. Oh well, young men can be stubborn. I hope he's lucky though - 1000s of couple getting married today can't be wrong, right? :confused3

My thoughts are with you...He'll realize (hopefully soon), that he will never have another mother (or another family!). I hope he calls you today.

Laura, the best face creams and lotions in the world are in Europe and many can be bought there in any drugstore for less than you would pay here -- bring a small size of whatever you need and buy more there. It will be fun and conserve space in your luggage at the same time.
Thanks for sharing!! I will definately be doing that!! I wonder which one (ones) to buy....

I got up at 6 am to try and get on the disney cruise site to make some reservations...it keeps shutting down on me. :headache: Have you been on that site today??

ME TOO!! I was trying to my online check in and it kept knocking me off....Also, it required me to put something in every field on the Airline info and I could not put in the correct info. (ie.DFW, RDU, LGW, BCN)

To add to the packing list (I'll update after my nap)

Money pouch/belt to securely wear money while travelling

Must be good then!-Sorry I couldnt do for you though.

Not only will this be our first cruise but I have booked a couples massage for us too. Neither one of us has ever had a massage before... I booked it for the last day so we can be nice and relaxed before we (I) start packing to go home :sad1:

This will be the trip of a lifetime for us!!

We did the couples massage on our first cruise it was wonderful. DH had never had one before and really enjoyed it. This time we have booked a spa villa for one afternoon. THat's our treat because we downgraded and saved $3000.00 but lost our nicer cabin.

We aren't bringing the kids on this trip so this is going to be very different for us and definitely a trip of a lifetime for us.

One last picture to conclude my contributions--the Magic in Villefranche:

Great picture.

Just a few weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone checking in again. I had a really bad week. It's ending on a positive note though.

We drove the boys south last Saturday. On Sunday morning Jon was working on his mom's swamp coolers. They are up on the roof, so she was down below trying to get things for him, turn water on and off, etc. Well she fell down and hit her head on a rock and broke her arm. My SIL took her to the ER, being a nurse she could get her through faster.

As if that wasn't enough. Just after they left for the ER, I noticed bees had eaten a whole in her wall and it looked like they were nesting. I pointed it out to Jon when he finished the coolers. Pest control came out. They said they were african-ized honey bees. I'm doubting this though because when they came back the next day to remove the 45lb hive, they didn't wear suits. But the during that time we were all really concerned for her and the animals.

So - I'm really dissapointed about the whole scene. My biggest issue if of course that she is hurt and all the problems she is going through with her HMO. But, we were hoping the kids would get to spend a few weeks with her before the cruise. That would allow us to get a lot done around here. So I am behind by about 4 days on what I need to do. And we might have to drive south again before the cruise to help again. As you all know - the clock is ticking and we don't have a lot of time before that day comes.

So I will do my best to get caught up with what is going on around here. I think I saw someone putting together a list of families participating in fish extenders. Count us in.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope she's doing better.

I have added you to the list for the Fish extenders. I will post the list later today for everyone interested.

One "update" to our plans, we are doing the private tour and chocolate making - July 27, 3pm along with Lisa/Alexcturner and families, at the Chocolate Museum in Barcelona.

We are also doing the Segway Tour, July 26, at 5pm. Are any other DIS'ers doing this?

Feeding Hills is what I'll call "a town within a town" -
We are within the borders of Agawam Mass.

Has anyone ever been to the Big E?
Thats in the next town over... West Springfield.
