Northern Europe in 2009 would be wonderful!!!! We can only hope. I'd also love the Eastern Med, Greece, etc. Disney, are you listening??????

Wendy,

So glad the wedding was beautiful! It was great to hear from you!

Julie & Andrew,

Your banter sounds like old times!!! You are both right, I don't think we could ever have a cruise like this again, unless we have a reunion cruise. It became an entity unto itself. Ugh... too philosophical, but true.

Maryann

I would *love* DCL to do Eastern Med inc Greece, albeit, I have been to all the major islands and ports. I could take you all on a private tour in each one, Lindos my favorite place, I am an expert.

I also know Turkey, and would love Venice.

But, it looks like Northern Europe is on the Captains radar for summer 2009, If the price is right and its school holidays I would go.

Bit cooler than the Med, but still a lot to see and I havent been there.

In fact, with the opening of the last stage of our high speed train service from London to Europe, I was thinking about going to Holland etc by train, but I might swap that to a return to DLP by train and wait for DCL to go there instead.

I get a 500 post-and they do not count, Currently if its northern europe, and during school holidays in 2009,I will do anything to be on it, if its Carribean, ( unlikley) I most likley will go non-Disney.

The repo including Panama is just so fantastic as soon as I herd they were doing it again I wanted it. Many agree it sold out both for 2005 and 2008 in hours.

We have such a terrific group on this thread, it hard to imagine not staying friends in some way . . . it's just much easier when we all have one cruise we are planning together! Let's hope for 2009.

Ok, I'm thinking late July 2009..........DCL reunion trip....who's in??:goodvibes

Andrew, if it's Northern Europe.....what cities do you think we're talking about??:cool1:

Also, we may change our summer trip, our DD20 is thinking of studying in TEMPLE ROME next May/June, so we're now thinking of returning to Italy and tagging on to her trip.........MaryAnn, did you say you're doing the Adventures by Disney next summer (Tuscany?) I'm now wondering if that would work...:confused3

This map is from another cruise line. This uses the Captains 'exact words'

JoAnn,

We booked the Quest for the West on July 16th. Because of my mom, we decided on domestic to limit the number of days we're away this year. This way we can zap the family again in 09 when we hopefully do our cruise!!!!!

The Tuscany Adventures by Disney looks wonderful (actually all of them do). There is a tread on the Dis boards for Adventures. Check it out. All the Adventures seem to get great reviews. I would suggest you book early, though. We got one of the few spots left on ours and it is 10 mos away! I think most are groups of about 30 or so and they probably max how many groups they do in one week.

A couple of our Dreams Unlmited owners to the Adventures by Disney Italian trip. They said it was amazing, and Disney got them into tours that the average person isn't able to do. They highly recommended it.

We already committed to our cousins coming out here in 2009, and so I am sure that my vacation time will be taken with showing them California. If we can swing a reunion, though, at either WDW or DL, I'd love to go ... especially for those of you taking the Mexican Riviera/Panama Canal cruises. :)

I'm glad you guys are saying that you do not think that you would take another Mediterranean cruise - at least a Western Med one, because that just reinforces my opinion that this vacation was spectacular.

Well for me :-

2008 is Disneyland CL and DCL Panama.

If I can swing it, DLP as well by Eurostar, would be nice to do three DL parks in one year.

2009

Who knows, if Northern Europe with DCL or Med, that's a most likely. If DCL stays in USA, I will give it a miss.

I tend to do Europe one year, USA the next so 2009 is a Europe year.

MaryJo -- Laura, Andrew and I will be at DL prior to the Panama Canal repo next August . . . maybe we can arrange a reunion at DL for everyone in the So Cal region and those of us going on that cruise?????

Thanks Maryann......I did see the ABD thread and I was reading the Italy ones..........the trip seems really special, then I saw the price, it would be like another cruise in terms of price (of course, I'm sure it's worth it b/c of the tours and meals, etc. which are included)but, I'm not ready to make my decision yet, so we'll just have to see.........it's hard b/c I'm still paying for at least 4 or us and that doesn't include airfare!

So we're just mulling things over around here..............if I want to do 2009 in the Med again, we may not want to go again next year............:confused3

HI Everyone:upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow
Im still alive !! August is a crazy month for me- Carleys birthday, school starting for both of us, last minute mini vacation, and endless "stuff" I miss you guys a lot.. I love looking at my pictures and laughing.
I did start a 2009 reunion cruise list, but I cant go back and look for it now- I have a dentist appointment for Carley in 10 min.

Maryann- that is the Disney Adventure we were going to do before we decided on the Med cruise!!! I do not think we will be able to do such a big trip because I have just start doing two bathrooms in my house, and Carley may be going to a Catholic High School in the fall which is approx. $7,000 so I dont think we will be able to swing it this year, but you never know

We are meeting Paul and Izzi in Disney word in April.. I hope some of you will be able to come for a few days also- it would be great!!

I am going to try to catch up on the board the next few days

Anna- Im so happy to hear that Gaspar is OK- what a scare!!! I was praying when Maryann wrote and told me.As soon as he is well, please let me know so I can plan a reunion dinner.

Wendy the wedding pics were fantastic, I wanted to come the wake to see you, but I couldnt make it as Anna explained to you. My thoughts and prayers were with you since it all happened- I cant wait to see you all again and give you a hug!

Andrew.. I miss our dinners together- every-time we see ketchup, we think of Steven and laugh!! Carley get Alice's email, and she will write soon.

Welcome back, Sallie.........my of my grade partners was teaching in the hallway today due to the weather conditions and I remembered that you said you did that last school year! Pretty ridiculous, huh!

If we do go to the 2008 Mexican DCL trip, I would love to meet with you guys, MaryJo.......I just have to see how this year evolves with the girls....it's a shame we won't be there when the Repos will be there!!:thumbsup2

Okay, I'm going to go back to hugging my air conditioned walls (jkjkjkjk).....

Greetings DISers

We have been remiss in saying Thank You to all of you that we met on this wonderful cruise.

We had a great time! Met a lot of great people and cruised on our favorite ship. The inevitable happened however... I did not complete our blog. I knew if I didn't update everyday on the ship it would not get done but the darn internet was sooooo sloooooowwww.....

We are heading out on another cruise next July but on a different line. We're headed to Alaska on July 13 on the Norwegian Pearl. This is an open invitation for anyone who wishes to join us especially if you're in need of new scenery in the way of Trees, Eagles, Whales and Glaciers.

Thanks again for the great memories and we'll be back on Disney for more.

Jeff, Diane and Kylie

I Jo!! It was awful in the classroom yesterday... thats so funny you remembered that... for the first time in many years for some reason the hall was worse than the classroom- the humidity was so heavy, the air was perfectly still, I really had a hard time breathing ! On the up side I love my class to pieces.. I have 3 or 4 boys with a terrible case of ants in the pants:rotfl: :rotfl: , but as a group they are great!! I have to post a picture of them when i get a chance.
I do hope we all get to it again in 2008.... tis was the best vacation we ever took !!!
Ok its 6 am must take a shower and get to school!!

We have time to plan this, but it might be fun to meet 2 hours before Fantasmic starts, plan a place, and hang out waiting for that to start . . .
OK
You guys - that is a great idea! :goodvibes

Yes, the humidity here on LI has been horrible for the last few days. The kids were allowed to take their uniform jackets off but the male teachers had to keep theirs on. Luckily, I can wear short sleeves and a skirt so I really can't complain!!!! Today was much better.

I think of you folks everyday. I decided to upload some scenery pics from our cruise and use it as the background to the powerpoint slide I use every day to welcome my homeroom. Every few days I rotate the pic so it reminds me of all the ports and all my dis friends.

Maryann

Boy Maryann, I can' t believe they're making the men wear jackets.......it's almost unhealthy.....I don't know why the weather was so tough this year....i feel like I've been in hot weather before and it didn't bother me as much!:confused3

Our school has a strict dress code, even for faculty. Just glad it seems to have cooled off. The kids were lethargic to say the least.
