July 28, 2007 - "Rome-ancing the Mouse Cruisers" -11 days! Part 2

Well, for the least creative person on the planet I am so proud of myself. I can't believe I actually made something and it looks pretty good (just don't look too closely). Anyway, Sallie and I were talking on the phone yesterday about the trip, flashes, etc. and we're really concerned about covering knees and shoulders in churches as we are trying to avoid being arrested by jumping in fountains. So....... I decided I was going to make a wrap-around skirt that I could velcro on and off during the excursions. (It is really tacky to step in and out of a skirt on the church steps.) So Sallie told me where to buy the material. I bought a yard and 3/4 and voila (4 hrs later) I made a wrap skirt AND with the left over material - a scarf for my shoulders!!!!!! Actually, all it is (for you seamstresses out there) is like a large square with a couple of tucks at the waist. It is a really lightweight material and it is just below the knee so it should be fine.

PROBLEM SOLVED!! Now if I can just figure out how to make a personal airconditioner..... hmmmmmm.......

Thanks for the t-shirt company name, Maryann--my order says shipped also. We are still going to do some iron-on ones. I just ordered one shirt. What did you do about the back? I don't like that big gap of empty space. It just doesn't look right to me, so I haven't done anything with the back.

Julie - that is both exciting and worrying. pixiedust that it gets to you in time. My Aug paperwork is being sent to the lady that booked me - I will be meeting her in Barcelona and she will carry my docs with her. One less thing for me to worry about!

Good luck on tickets must say very little in the package, I noticed this last year if you comple online registration there isnt a lot in the mail. Far less than the previous MED package.

I am sure you could still get on at port with ID if they didnt turn up.

Honestly, I'm not worried about it -- with online checkin, I think the only real issue would be not having pre-printed tags for the luggage. I had asked my TA to bring up the issue of sending both at the same time, though, since I knew the Aug. 18 docs (and the all-important easy tags) would arrive after I was already in Europe. If they do send them UPS next week I will have both sets well before we leave (two weeks from today, July 26).

That's what I decided too! My Rents are actually Albil so their quote is right after the break! I ordered shirts to surprise them with as soon as they come in! This is going to be fun!

Oh yea, I didn't make the front logo a little pocket, I MADE IT HUGE IN THE MIDDLE so noone will miss us!!!!
