Hi

This is my hotel

http://www.hotelcram.com/#

It is in the Eixample district and is on the corner of Arago and Aribau

The Cram Hotel Barcelona is located on the wide, up market street Aribau which is lined with historic buildings and trendy shops and bars. There is a bank right opposite the hotel and a pharmacy on the opposing corner. If you walk for 2 minutes in any direction you will come across a small supermarket. The nearest metro stop is Universitat in the Placa just at the bottom of Aribau, a 5 minute walk away. Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas are a further 5 minutes walk from there. To get Passeig de Gracia just turn right out of the hotel and keep going for 10 minutes. However if you do just want a bit of a wander, there is no better place than Eixample itself, for the architecture and tranquility of the whole area.

Looks great, must be my eyes first time I read this I am sure it said corner of Argos and Aribau.

Didnt know they had Argos in Spain.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I'm not ready yet....i need to see those Navigators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared:

Yes lets all look out for these, hopfully up this week! or soon.

Weeks left

Mondays:-
June 11th, 18th, 25th, July 2nd, 9th, 16th.
I am off Saturday 21st.

Six weeks!

Yes, our band and orchestra also does the WDW trip in high school- they perform there, but my daughter said there has been talk of canceling that too, with all the terror issues- I hope not- they have such a great time, and Im sure that is is one of the reasons Carley chose to take up cello :rotfl: although she is a few years from that!

The terror issues are an excuse. Even with 9/11, statistically the chances of being harmed by a terror attack in the U.S. are negligible compared to other risks (such as auto accidents, etc.). Institutions cancel trips because of financial concerns, laziness, or concerns about liability for other things that might go wrong.

We are staying at the AC Barcelona. I will have to find it on a map and see just how far it is from the Fountain etc... Where do you find these maps?

It's a bit of a trek, but there's a metro station right near the hotel.

Hello Everyone! I am back from my exile at least for a few minutes.

DD14 graduated last night and boy - was that both frustrating and fast.

I have come to 1 conclusion:

This last one is NOT going to be allowed to date until she's 21. :rotfl:

Let me explain a bit. I'm being going through something pretty fough the last couple of weeks. So I finally decided to treat myself and went to the MAC Cosmetics counter to have my face done up! BOYT! Do they do wonders! By the time I left there - I wasn't sure who I was except for this fact: "I Felt Pretty - Oh So Pretty!" (Insert image of me dressed in a tutu dancing in a field of daisies! :lmao: ) Anyway, I took DD with me and they 'managed' to sneak her in and did her face also.

Well, as many of you probably know - I didn't as I had never done this before, MAC is a very expensive make-up Counter (:scared1: ) So anyway, I was getting done, anxious cuz I had to be at my hair appt in 40 minutes which I ended up being late too but that's another story. Anyway, When I was almost done - my artist stepped away for something. In the time that she left, 3 countergirls walked by and said - 1. Wow! 2. Your make-up looks fantastic and 3. You look beautiful to which I thought they were just being kind to sucker me into buying the make-up.

At the end, my DD who was sitting behind me asked me a question, I turned around and then she stopped talking to me. Which of course  me cuz I thought - OH NO! What do I look like. When I finally finished - I was able to look and I just wanted to look. I was pretty! This is sad - but I felt even more pretty than on my wedding day! And I didn't have my hair done or my dress.

When I finally got to look at DD - I thought - Uh Oh! she looks very regal. Very white and pale but very regal. She is NOT dating until she's 21! :lmao: This girl is only 14.

The scary thought was that I told them to scale back because she was only 14. The first hour - she looked heavily make up but by the time she was made up hairwise and dressed - I thought - Oh My God! This is a precursor to what her wedding will look like. :scared1: She's 14 and I'm already thinking - wedding???

Anyway, the gang is pounding on the door so I will sign off for now and post a picture later. I will continue my exploits of how I went out with a BANG! I loved it!

Later all -

I will be doing more or less the samething soon. My dd - 14 graduates Friday, June 15 and on Monday, the 18 they are having their "prom" (we can't call it a prom) graduation dance.

Congratulations to your dd. I am not thinking boyfriends/dating yet, I am not thinking boyfriends/dating - :sad2:

Just wanted to say that Wendy (disneymagic316) had a great party (bridal shower for her very soon to be daughter-in-law) today. She is a sweet beautiful girl with a great family.

I also met her sister-in-law Mary Jo who will also be cruising with us. She only posted here once or twice - Where are you? You need to post more often.

Question - has anyone cancelled an excursion and booked a different one? If so, did you need to cancel the existing one? How do you know if there is availability and # of spots?

After reading some reports, I am having my doubts about the Florence and Pisa one. I am not sure what to do now.:confused3

I have always told Gretchen and Annie they will not start dating until after they are married!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Good one :thumbsup2 -

Thanks for the idea. DD turns 13 tomorrow and the boys are already interested and she's interested in them. It's too soon!! We are not ready for this.

We tried to change an excursion and found the same problem. It shows an excursion as available but then there was only one space and we needed two. I ended up calling DCL directly to make sure we didn't lose the 1st excursion trying to book the 2nd. THey were very helpful. I have noticed that DCL has been very responsive in correcting problems with the website so they may have fixed this problem already. It does hold your excursion for up to 20 minutes so until you hit submit nothing is lost or booked.

I understand about the Florence/pisa excursion. THe reports have not been good. We decided that there is nothing worth 2.5 hours on a bus. We switched to the wine tasting and Sarzana excursion instead. Rome is going to be a long day and we don't want to overdo.

Good luck with your decision.

The wine tasing excursion - does everyone in the party need to be 21?

There isn't a price listed for anyone under 21. So I would think that would mean everyone has to be at least 21.
