Hi,

I really could do with some help.

There are approx 10 -20 of us who are are going on a Disney cruise leaving Sat 28th July. We are stopping in a lot of different hotels around the city. We thought it would be really nice to meet up on the Friday night and we all want to see The Magic Fountain of Montjuïc.

We are going to meet up there, but we wondered as it will be the middle of summer and very busy- is there a land mark, pub, restuant, cafe next to the fountain where we can all meet to see the show?

As we have never met before it would be easier to specify where @ the fountain to stand as we might not recognise each other.

Also after the show is there somewhere close by where we could perhaps get a drink together?

Your help is really appreciated

I thought it would be good to try and get some advice - as I have visions of turning up to the fountain abd there being 100's of people and not seeing anyone.

WTG, have a blast..........we just came off of "another line" and honestly my girls missed DCL..........we did save a lot of money and each line has its strengths............how can you go in the winter, is it a school break?

I hope the kids don't miss DCL too much but for the price difference and availability it is definitely worth a try. We have school vacation the third week of February. DS will be in 10th grade and DD will be in 7th. And I work at the school so it's my time off as well. I'm so excited but DH wants to wait until Christmas to tell the kids. I don't think I can (or want) to wait that long.

Ok since going back to work the last 2 days have not been good calorie wise . I was soo tired I forgot to take the steak out of the freezer this morning for tonights beef stir-fry. So instead Dave ordered an Indian takeaway. I've even eaten to jaffa cakes today aswell and had abagel for breakfast instead of ceral. I really need to get a grip tomorrow- Im really annoyed with myself!

I think a lot are meeting @ the grand marina hotel - but I think that is @ the opposite end of BArcleona to my hotel. I am looking into this

I ate averything and then some of DH's sandwich last night and I hardly eat sandwiches. Course - I blame DD since she took a portion of the biggest part of my Cajun Spice Chicken Club - I took the 3rd bread out and cleaned it all up and then she reached across and took the biggest 1/2 and said - can I have this one? I should have said NO!!!

Coincidently, I'm holding 2 of those hard-to-get cabins on the EB Panama cruise next summer.

I phrase it that way because I tend to be skeptical of plans made over a year in advance - I have a hard enough time planning my next week (or day)....

We are at the Hotel Cram pre and AC Barcelona after!

We will be staying at Grand Marina if this is where you decide to meet the night before the cruise...let us know!!

We are staying at the AC Barcelona the night before the cruise. I'm a bit worried about how the jetlag will affect me. DH and sleep through anything but I've never been able to sleep on a plane.

i'm staying that the hesperia presidente. i think it is downtown somewhere. i'm planning on buying a couple of bottles for friday and saturday and just drink the ship's water from deck 9.

Okay, I just heard back from my TA. We were able to get Hilton-Diagonal-Mar-Barcelona. We have 4 rooms......anyone else here? We have 2 nights July 26 and July 27.!

The plan to meet at the Grand Marina and then onto the Fountain sounds good. We are staying at the Grand Marina so that is convenient!

I wanted a place with room for all 4 of us, in one room. So we are at the Husa Lilla. Not sure where it is in comparison to the others, or the fountain. But I will see what we can do.

We are staying in what is supposed to be 2 triple rooms in Royal Ramblas which if I remember correctly is at the top of Las Ramblas and close to EL Cortes Ingles. I'm sure I'll have to discover where this store is and shop there. Does anyone now if we can bring food onto the Magic from the local stores?

We are staying at the Hesperia Presidente. DCL hotel, but we booked it ourselves. Since there are 5 of us, I needed to make sure that we could fit into 2 rooms - those European hotel rooms sure are tiny!! I didn't mind getting 2 rooms, but several hotels wanted us to get 3 - no way!!

We're staying at the Gran Via Hotel. It seems it was once a small palace??? Anyway, it seems central to the sights and it's easily accessed by metro.

Lanyard Status 5/22:
Still taking orders and payments.
I have the lanyard design. Once I get people's payments, I place the order.
DCL called and said they can't give permission in writing for our design, but its a case of "don't ask, don't tell", "we never had this conversation", no hassles as long as we are not selling and its for personal use.

ORDER INFORMATION:
Since this is a two color lanyard, the cost will be $2.43 per lanyard
Each lanyard comes with a badge holder which is $0.20 each
So I need a total of $2.63 for each lanyard
Add $1 for each reel. I'm thinking of ordering the black reel to go with the black lanyard. Sound Ok with everyone?????
So the total for a lanyard with reel is $3.63.

Timeline: Would like to get the lanyard order in before June 15th latest. Which means I need everyone's payment prior. Anyone else who wants to order, please post and let me know. Payment info is below.

Here is the lanyard with the badge holder (except ours will be vertical)

Here is the lanyard with badge reel (except ours will come as two pieces: a lanyard with J hook (as shown in the above pic). Each badge reels has a belt clip in back. The J hook hooks on the belt clip of the badge reel. See the little tab on the badge reel? That will snap onto the top of the badge holder. The badge holder will hold your Key to the World card. The badge reel is not heavy duty. It is a light string and is made to hold the weight of your badge holder.

HI Everyone,
Thank you so much for the well wishes and all the PMs that were sent. How amazing is it ,that total strangers, some thousands of miles away, can actually make a person feel such empathy and compassion when so sad. As I wrote to some of you privately, I feel so blessed to have found this thread, firstly because I know I will be so much better prepared for this trip with all the prior knowledge and brainstorming that goes on here. And, secondly, because I have found such wonderful friends in what I consider a magical way- through invisible satellite waves that magically and instantly answer questions, provide help and can give a hug without even physically being there. I hope you understand what all these ramblings of mine are trying to say. So, again, I thank you all.
We had to put Chloe down Monday night. Suffice it to say, it was one of the more difficult times in my life. Of course I do put this into perspective, wars, soldiers dying, sick children, etc., but loosing a pet after 15 years is very heart breaking.
As I mentioned, I do have her sister, they were siamese twins who I am now very concerned with. We are paying as much attention to her as possible, and keeping her busy so she dosent continually roam the house looking for her sister, and become depressed,which tehy are very prone to do. So, far, she has not been meowing that much, and only seems to roam at bedtime.
I called their breeder, and thank goodness, she is still breeding traditional l siamese cats. She has since moved to Virginia, but through the magic of the internet,again) I was able to track her down.
She has a litter of kittens they are just ready to be sold. So, we are getting 2 more sometime next week. I just cannot let Cleo stay alone during the day while we are working, so I hope she bonds with them as soon as possible. I am feeling better today, I finally turned my computer on and tried reading pages of posts, although I know I missed a few.
Here are our pre- cruise plans:
Paris- one night Hotel Lutetia(26th) ( TA booked it)
Barcelona one night- Hotel Hesperia Presidente
Post- one niht Hotel Husa Illa (27th)[

I posted the fountain thing a couple of weeks when I saw it on the other thread, soooo glad you re arranging that Helen- thanks

O-K- I am going to start dinner, I've been very couch potato like the past few days, and I will then read on to see if I need to respond to anything else...

Sorry to read that, I had two dogs when I was younger the second one was with me 14 years and I was very close to him, his name was Shandy.

I left my parents home and after a month came back and said Shandy wasnt his usual self, My parents hadnt noticed or didnt want to.

I took Shandy to private VET's, and he had a stroke he had to be put down there and then, I have to tell my parents he had gone we were all very upset he was part of the familiy
