What a lovely dog. They were my border collies - I do flyball with them. Kyla (Jeanne) has the Austrailan Sheps and does agility. From the sounds of it we are a pet loving bunch
I think we have a lot of pet lovers here for sure.
Yep, I have the aussies. Lost my Kyla just after our Panama Canal cruise to a brain tumor. She and I were so close. Still cry about it.
So sorry to hear that, I know how hard it is. I just love my Aussies though. We have 2 currently. The other one though we have living with my MIL. His name is Harry Potter, but it just as well be Hairy. he's as beautiful as his dad, and super super shy.
I have seen all of your beautiful dogs and just wanted to share with you our little princess, not! She is something else and not like any other dog we have ever had, and we have always had a dog! Like all dogs, they are all different and she is, but when dh bought her this "Bad to the Bone" at WDW I was upset....somehow it just really suits her and the picuture is the one we used for her registration. She also dances!!
She's so adorable.
Lucky you on getting the eternal Rome tour. We tried, but it was sold out. Still, we're looking forward to Ultimate Rome.
i just checked it looked like they had some openings. don't know how many slots you need.
When I could first book at 75 days out, it was all booked. This really upset me and I actually threw my computer. Ok, well it was actually because it kept freezing, and 'threw' was more like closing the lid and dropping it two feet to the floor to land on top of my computer bag. I couldn't figure out what was going on, and I was a little miffed that I had it as my only item in my wishlist for Rome. If they had half an IT clue they would/clould have used their db to query what people were interested in and perhaps adjust. OK - I'll get off that soap box.
Anyway - I kept trying because all it would do was let me book two people. The next morning I had no problems booking all 4 of us. This was after considering changing to the Ultimate Rome tour. At that point I was more willing to book it private than do it through Disney. The next morning i tried back, and was able to book all for of us. So i immediately confirmed that.
Yippee!!! I just realized I made 1000 posts!!!!
Congratulations.
About 10 yrs back my mom and dad went to Europe and visited Monaco. They are really very simple folks w/o much $ - very old school. Mom doesn't own a long formal and dad won't wear tuxes he's only worn one that I'm aware of - that was to my sister's wedding. (Humph!)
Sounds like my grandpa. I have only seen him in a suit or tux twice in my 31 years. Both times he was giving away the bride, and was out of his 'monkey suit' 5 minutes after the weddings.
Have a good day....the sun is shinning here at least and supposed to be 80!!
The sun is finally out here. It feels like SPRING
It's getting up to the 80's here with a breeze. Soon though we will be about 100.
disney charged us $84 per person for airport-hotel-ship-hotel-airport. i felt more comfortable letting them handle everything.
This is what we went with too - just seemed easiest.
That's what I was waiting for to see - I gave up on AI - I got mad and decided to boycott it.

Childish isn't it? Just no more fun anymore.
Me too - just not good anymore. I still feel Season 1 was the best. When they actually made the contestants have to sing in different formats to prove their range. Nowdays, it's "here sing this artists songs, and sing them like you have sang every other song for the last 6 weeks. Go ahead - be a one trick pony, after all it's just a popularity contest."
A question, I've been meaning to ask of you DVC people.
Why and what are the benefits?
Seems like so many people are in the DVC. I don't know anything about it.
DVC - Hmm - well I just booked some nights for a friend at DL Paris. Two nights was going to cost her over $1200, plus tickets to the parks. it cost me 98 points, and includes tickets to both parks for all people staying in the room. If I figure my points come out to between $2-$3 a point, that's $300 for the two nights. A savings of $900. And I still have 400 more points to use for the year.
If anyone is thinking about packing a case of water---just remember how much it will weigh!! You could put a lot of shoes in that suit case and they would weigh a lot less!!
When I was in Spain in Feb I went to a supermarket and bought 6 litres of mineral water for under 3 Euros!!! - The high prices that have been mentioned are by vendors at the tourist sites - The supermarkets are great
Not Sure where the supermarkets are but there will be.
You can be Liquor at the supermarket ( like in the UK)- dont think there are any requirements - just have to be over a certain age - 16 or 18 I think?
I was suprised when you couldn't but spirits in a supermarket in USA.
I thought MA was the only state that doesn't allow liquor in supermarkets. Is there another state like ours?
I'm glad to hear it will be available at the supermarket so we don't have to make an extra stop.
Sandra
You can in California - you just have to be 21 years of age.
in nc your can't buy hard liquor in supermarkets and on sundays you can't buy any beer or wine until 12pm and i think the abc stores are closed on sundays.
Don't pack water.....way to heavy!!
Virginia you can buy beer and wine.....but not hard liquor in the grocery. In Maryland.....you can buy nothing in the grocery.
OK - tried to gather all the liquor posts together.
Here in the US, we allow each state to set their own laws. In most states the legal age is 21, but in a few states it is only 18.
Also, in some states, the only stores allowed to sell alcohol beverages and liquor are ran by the state. Other states allow it in grocery stores, others not. So it really depends on the laws, and the history in the state.
So which hotels are everyone staying @?
We are at the Hotle Cram pre and AC Barcelona after!
I wanted a place with room for all 4 of us, in one room. So we are at the Husa Lilla. Not sure where it is in comparison to the others, or the fountain. But I will see what we can do.
What is the process for selection? Is it like dirty Santa where you draw for your turn, but can be taken 2x before being frozen?
that's funny, I have never heard it called Dirty Santa....I am sure it is the same, but we call it Chinese Christmas!!
We do one at work, we have someone keep track of the gifts, and how many times it has been 'stolen'. You can't steal a gift that was already stolen within that round, and once something is stolen 3 times, that's it.
Ex. I pick out NY. The next person likes what was in the NY bag, so they steal it. I then steal London from someone else. the person that had London, can steal any gift except NY, because it was what started that 'round'. Once the next person to go (we draw numbers) starts their turn, NY can be stolen again. That would mean that NY had been stolen twice. On the next time, that person would be the winner and NY would not be allowed to be stolen again.
Another variation - We all wrap our bags in a way that you cannot see inside. Make the bag just as interesting as the gift inside. All the bags go on one table. We all draw numbers, and then go through stealing presents. But - We don't open them. We use all the same rules as above, except that you don't know what is in the bag. When the last person to go has picked their gift, and no more stealing is needed, we all open them at the same time.
Speaking of exchange rates - here's a hint:
The capital one credit Visa card is the best deal I know of for U.S. travellers going abroad. They don't charge any foreign exchange fees, and offer a great conversion rate. Read more at

We have been wondering about that. Thanks for the tip.
The Magic Fountain was definitely mentioned as a meet early on in the thread's life funnily enough I looked up the times of the show yesterday.
9:30pm, 10pm, 10:30pm, 11pm, 11:30pm.
It's at the Placa Espana, I was looking at photos and trying to work out where we could all meet. There is a museum of art there with steps going up we could say the bottom of the steps, it would be good to see the show.
Meeting at the Bar at the Grand Marina might be easier,
What if we had a meet in the Bar at the Grand Marina at 8:30pm and then all go together to the fountain show getting there for the 10pm performance (it's 2 metro stops away)
People that didn't want to come to the hotel could find us at the fountains.
What do you all think of that idea?
I also noticed that some of you are coming through London in the week before the cruise, I know that your time is short so I would understand if you didn't want to but if any of you would like to have a mini meet one night in London let me know, Andrew? I think Helen is probably too far away,
I like this idea. I still have to double check my flight times as I think we get in during the evening. If we can make it, we will. Of course, we might be exhausted from travelling the whole time.
Pixie Dust, love the pictures.
This is our pirate nite
Love the pictures.
I'll forever be known as the not-so-pirate.
yeah - me too. The not-so-pirate. But I make a pretty good wench.
I don't think I can make it.........but it's a good thought!
The West coasters will do us in..................
Ok It's beddy bye for me. We're depending on you west coasters to post like crazy.
The only pirate I'm going to get is in my dreams.
Night all.
OK - I'm finally on and everyone has gone to bed? Anyone still around?
No one wants to post? I'm bored!
I was trying to catch up on the last 48 hours - It has taken me two hours to read and compile this list.
