Oh yea, when is she leaving again!!!!!!!!:hourglass

OMG, page 211!!!!:scared1:

How am I going to catch up on reading this.
I tried getting on the board last nite. Usually I get on about midnight it seems and I saw that Andrew had just posted and then it crashed and I couldn't get in. Did the board crash or was it my computer?:confused3

Ok, on the paypal payment, some of you are sending me are OK and some are using their premier account. I have a personal account (basic) and while it does allow me to accept payments from folks with premier accounts it charges me a fee to accept plus it limits the number of payments I can accept to a total of 5 for the year. So, if you are unsure, go ahead and try sending me a payment via paypal and if it kicks back as denied, then you know that you have a premier account and I just denied it. Then you will need to send me a check. Pm me and I will give you my address.

Lanyard Status 5/19:
Talked to formerCPer (Brian). He is getting the lanyard design E ready to go. So I'm ready to start accepting everyone's order and payment.:cool1: Please note that DCL did not grant us permission to use copyrighted materials, which is probably the Disney font, mickey icon and use of Disney Magic. However, they said its unlikely anything will be said to us about it if we make them up and wear them AND ARE NOT SELLING THEM. They are totally fine if we made them at home, its the use of an independent vendor that gets tricky. The big thing is that we are not selling these lanyards and are strictly for personal use.

5/17:Got the badge holder sample. Its bigger than I thought compared to the Key to the World card but you can easily open and stick your fingers in to get to the card. So I wonder if we should stick with that size or go smaller?

ORDER INFORMATION:
Since this is a two color lanyard, the cost will be $2.43 per lanyard
Each lanyard comes with a badge holder which is $0.20 each
So I need a total of $2.63 for each lanyard
Add $1 for each reel. I'm thinking of ordering the black reel to go with the black lanyard. Sound Ok with everyone?????
So the total for a lanyard with reel is $3.63.

Timeline: Would like to get the lanyard order in before June 15th latest. Which means I need everyone's payment prior. Anyone else who wants to order, please post and let me know. Payment info is below.

Payment: I can take paypal payments (basic account, not the premier account) at kylarice at worldnet.att.net. If you don't have paypal, I will take a check. For the UK people who don't have paypal, just pay when you pick up your lanyards, under the table please. Please pm me for my address to send the checks to. Please include your DIS forum name with any payment, so I know who you are.

Lanyard Design Options (by formerCPer)

Design E is the Winner!

Cost for lanyard design E will be about $3.00
It comes with a badge holder: http://www.kennyproducts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=372
To add a badge reel http://www.kennyproducts.com/Mercha...en=PROD&Store_Code=KPI&Product_Code=425-blank, will be another $1 per badge reel.
I was thinking of ordering once I get everyone's payment and bringing them to Barcelona or the DIS meetup to pass out.

Please note: I called the lanyard maker and DCL regarding the design of these lanyards and if there were any copyright or trademarked problems. Both told me they were OK with it since we are using them for personal use and not selling them (thats why I need your payment first before I put the order in). Although DCL said that the design is OK, they said there is a small chance that guest services may request that we not wear the lanyard (I guess if the Disney police are onboard). ETA: I have since emailed DCL a picture of the lanyard design to get another confirmation that the design is OK. ETA: DCL responded with a generic "we can't grant permission to use copyrighted materials" esp with an independent vendor due to agreements with other vendors. If you chose to create items with Disney designs at home - no problems as LONG AS THEY ARE NOT BEING SOLD. ETA: sent email to DCL asking for specifics: which items (images, font or words) are copyrighted that are on the lanyard. No word yet. ETA: called DCL to follow up on generic email. They said this is a gray area. They can't grant me permission to use copyright materials. However, they highly doubt that DCL will say anything if we went ahead and made up the lanyard AS LONG AS THEY ARE NOT BEING SOLD AND ARE FOR PERSONAL USE.

I posted this on the previous page, but in case you haven't seen. Some people were confused on how things attach together. Hopefully, this will clear it up:

Here is the lanyard with the badge holder (except ours will be vertical)
113321424_front-thumb.jpg
Here is the lanyard with badge reel (except ours will come as two pieces: a lanyard with J hook (as shown in the above pic). Each badge reels has a belt clip in back. The J hook hooks on the belt clip of the badge reel. See the little tab on the badge reel? That will snap onto the top of the badge holder. The badge holder will hold your Key to the World card. The badge reel is not heavy duty. It is a light string and is made to hold the weight of your badge holder.

Quick Lynn while Laura is shopping for a dress, you can catch her if you post 47 more times.

UHEMMMM....did a quick stop in to pick up more cash and on my way out the door - remember folks - I have insomnia and you have all seen what I can do!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

And on that note - picked up 2 dresses that will work for the Med - long enough to cover the knees and lightweight Knit - course - now to find the shoes. As my DD-20 is fond of saying - A girl can never have enough shoes..........and jeans..........and bras..........and tops.......... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And on that note - I'm off to catch a late night snack.

UPDATE ON DH: Made it to the final Poker table and after several ups and downs, he's made the minimum payout - so I know I'll have another $5,000 to add to my excursions list!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: He just doesn't know I've spent it yet! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh yeah - James Woods (Shark) was there again but got knocked out yesterday. DH has seen him several times but is too shy to go up to him and say hi. I don't know about you but I think he's kinda cute in a different sorta way. Especially when he smiles, makes me think he's up to something.

Later all -

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I told you all that DH was EXTREMELY LUCKY! He lost but he placed & won about $8G. Yippee - tomorrow on to DCL to see if they have any more private cars! (We'll worry about Uncle Sam later!) I have a TOAL (Trip of a Lifetime) to pay for!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I don't really care at this point if they move away - Once they closed the factory tour a couple of years ago there wasn't much reason to go out there.

However, if you're looking for great factory tours in the area, the JellyBelly plant in Fairfield is great, as is the NUMMI auto plant in Fremont. Oh, and though small, the Scharffen Berger chocolate factory tour in Berkeley is a real treat (just bring plenty of cash, because while they lack all the cutsy souveneirs that the Hershey store has, it's a true chocoholics paradise. They are one of the few places in the country that makes their chocolate from the beans, not just mixes up imported cocoa powder).

Dan

I was pretty sad in 2001 when they used 9/11 as an excuse to close the tours. They were already going bust in the area and were down to weekends, and school field-trips on the weekdays. It's just another sign of a big change in the area. I wonder if Nestle will be next. I mean after all Heinz closed shop a few years ago too. And that is after losing two of the really big sugar plants in the area. Destroy the plants, build new houses. I guess it's cheaper to grow it here, and then ship it out of the country for processing. Then pay the import fees to bring it back.

OMG, page 211!!!!:scared1:

How am I going to catch up on reading this.

Don't worry, it was mostly simple one liners going back and forth between us. The important things are:

A mini-meet.
Okay - now on to important things ;) - everyone knows that Sallie came to Staten Island today for her cousin's christening. The christening just happened to be 5 minutes from my house. Sallie invited me to stop over to say hello so I pmd her just in case it was possible.

Well, I called Wendy (Disneymagic316) - she lives two blocks away from me and with my dh and dd, we went and said hello to Sallie her husband and her dd.

Sallie - I still can't believe that we have chatted for months and we have met today so close to my home and my dd's school. It was great meeting you and glad it worked out.

Your dh seemed pleasantly surprised and shocked when I called him. I know my dh thinks I am nuts and does not get the whole disboard thing. When you chat for over a year, you form an internet bond or something.

Dan giving Lynn wonderful advice on Yosemite.
You'll most likely hire a car. This is, after all, California, where any trip over a block traditionally involves driving :rolleyes1

In terms of lodging at Yosemite, it's largely a matter of your taste. Assuming you want to stay in the valley itself, your choices are pretty much as follows:

  • Ahwahnnee Hotel. Think of this as like the category 1 cruise cabin. Luxury in the tradition of the old classic national park lodges (which it is), $400+ /night.
  • Yosemite Lodge. Not really my favorite. Basically a motel in a nice location.
  • Curry Village. A mix of cabins (with or without bath) and tent cabins (think large tent with cots and public baths aka summer camp). Great for a "back to nature" style, but without the hassles.
  • Housekeeping Camp. Large tent style structures. Intended for people who are camping out but want a bit more comfort than camping out in your own tent.

I'm a big fan of Curry Village. The cabins are comfortable, the cost moderate. There's a large pool, general store, cafeteria, raft and bike rentals and an amphitheatre with nightly programs. It does get crowded though, especially in summer.

There are nice places outside of the park as well, but I haven't tried any of them myself.

If you do want to stay at Yosemite, book early.

Dan

I want to re-iterate this part:
If you do want to stay at Yosemite, book early.

Still up!! I'll send payment to tomorrow for the lanyards.......I'm off school due to a doctor's appointment!!!!!!!!!!:hippie:

Wow - that is wonderful. I don't think I could ever play Poker. I just really don't get it. I mean I understand it and all, but I don't know the variances or how to bid.

I'm a bit more of a strategic card game type player, and board games. But we don't play for money.

good news - presentation is almost done. Just re-ordering things right now to make the most sense. :woohoo:

but wrong is just so much more funpirate:

I totally agree -

Being Bad is good :rolleyes1

I believe Mae West said it best: When I'm good, I'm very good. But when I'm bad - I'm better! ;) I like a woman with curves and sass! :thumbsup2

NOTE: Ok some attribute it to some Mets or Yankess manager but I'm not sure - I've always credited it to Mae West and since she's a real woman - I'll give her the credit unless someone can confirm.

No shhhhh don't tell Salliep whisper shhhhhh

I've just overtaken her post count....shhhhh
:ssst: I won't tell if you wont tell her she was "EXPOSED" :rotfl2:

I hope someone replies to you Carrie cos I've been wondering the same thing

What was the ? again? I get sidetracked so easily!

Plus - I kinda like this multi-quoting. :thumbsup2

I guess this would be a bad time to tell you guys there is also a competition on another thread of who is the Queen of Multi-Quotes???? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I believe the record exceeds 30 but not too sure! :faint:

Thank you. I learn something new everyday :)

Carefull Anna, that is how I got tagged! :rotfl:

Who the "H" is this???:rotfl:

Andrew "claims" it was his kids but I don't believe him - he's a crafty one I tell ya - not to mention he's a pirate: plus he had the time to set it up! I should know - I set him up! :rotfl2:

It's Andrew's kids!!!

See above. :thumbsup2

Same here, HOW CAN I CHANGE IT NOW????? :upsidedow

I believe if you change it you have to start all over again "earning your ears" 'sides - we're all used to you now. And remember - no PM'ing for the first 10 posts. And if you have tags - those are gone.

OK - that was all before I forgot what I was going to write. Maybe next time I'll attempt the title of Queen of Multi-quoting seeing as the title of Honorary Captain Lady is gone.
