Of course, I'd be happy to.

Everyone is getting excited over Pirates because they are posting the ##00 post to the thread.

To see how many posts we have, I recommend.

Step 1 - make sure you are viewing in Linear Mode (if not already)
Display mode menu - then Linear mode
That should make all the posts appear one after another, in order by date and time.
Step 2 - Each message is bordered with a title bar, the color varies depending on which forum you are in. It might also be something that you can edit for you alone, just never looked. Mine is blue, and in this title bar the date and time are in a dark blue small font. Next to this is the title. I've made this one just for you "All for you kidcoos3. Look right >>>>>"
Step 3 - Look to the right of the title, you might have to scroll right depending on your monitor and viewing settings for your browser. The horizontal scroll bar should automatically appear for you.
You should find a number that appears as a bold font, and is preceded by the pound symbol (#). So an example will be #3500. this number also happens to be a link, you could select this link and view just that post on it's own. As opposed to the default of linear.

I hope that helped. (I'm called for dinner - love my hubby. He cooks too!)

-Carrie (who really needs to finish her work.)

Just noticed, the title actually doesn't go in that line, but below it. I'm used to a different board where it is all one line. Here, though many people don't use titles on their messages.

We were on the sailing after you 30th July,
It's where I met Joann and her family, there were another 4 families on that sailing and we've all kept in touch, they've met several times but obviously we can't but when we went to WDW in Oct 2006 we had a stopover in NYC and one of the families put us up and Joann and another family came to the city to meet up with us it was lots of fun!!

Hey, listen, no surprise, JoAnn and her family are a lot of fun!!:lmao: Seriously, the DISboards have been great, I HAVE A FEELING THAT OUR GROUP WILL BE EQUALLY FUN!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else have their paypal kicked back? I sent payment to Kyla via pay pal and it says it was rejected because her acct doesn't accept funds from a credit card we keep on file there. Any other way to send the funds? Anyone else have a problem?

Kyla if you are watching, what should I do?

Maryann

I still have to send my payment - but I recall her mentioning that you can only use an account that is connected to a checking account.

Not sure if this will help, but i know that I can either use a credit card or my checking account as the primary. The other one just becomes backup. Maybe you could do something like that?

I'll try sending her my payment, probably tomorrow as i really need to eat and work. Then i will update if I had issues.

My oh my. I'm gone for about 3 hours and look at all the silly business!!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I can't

I made the mistake of taking my DD16 (tomorrow 17) to her soccer games and look what happened?? No pirate: 3000 for me!! (Futball to the Brits!):scared:

i also used my checking account. my email from paypal said that it had been send. i haven't checked paypal to see if she recieved it.

OO - i forgot about Columbia. I love that place. You can even do a great little stroll (by car of course) up Hwy 49 and go through the entire Gold Country. I love Coloma, Twain Harte, Old Placerville, etc.

Sadly though - we just learned that they are closing the Hershey plant in Oakdale to move it to New Mexico. Kids were boycotting it this weekend at the Oakdale Chocolate Festival. Not sure the festival will be the same with Hershey leaving town. I mean, as long as Aspargus is grown in Stockton it makes sense to have an Asparagus festival. When they finally fill in the farmland and build houses, it just wont make sense anymore. What would they do? Ship the asparagus in from other countries?

I'm a Head Coach for a CheerLeadind squad. We normally sell candy, including hershey's. Many of the kids and their parents don't want to sell the Hershey box this year. They will sell the Mars box though.

I don't really care at this point if they move away - Once they closed the factory tour a couple of years ago there wasn't much reason to go out there.

However, if you're looking for great factory tours in the area, the JellyBelly plant in Fairfield is great, as is the NUMMI auto plant in Fremont. Oh, and though small, the Scharffen Berger chocolate factory tour in Berkeley is a real treat (just bring plenty of cash, because while they lack all the cutsy souveneirs that the Hershey store has, it's a true chocoholics paradise. They are one of the few places in the country that makes their chocolate from the beans, not just mixes up imported cocoa powder).

I've been meaning to ask you what the snail ticker was for. I thought maybe you were going to walk to Barcelona.

Don't be shocked, I've signed up for the WDW Half Marathon, I did one last February (I walked it, mostly) so I'm now planning to walk/run the next one, so I'm tabulating my progress........thx for asking???:cool1:

I knew all of that - I am actually a low grade pirate :) I guess I just misunderstood your explanation and thought that I was missing something.

Great job explaining the posts though! I'm sure it'll help some other people.

Where in central CA are you? We lived in Fremont for 6 years. We had a cabin in Bear Valley - actually lived there full time for 1 year.

Thanks for your help!!

That is awesome!! When we lived in Indianapolis I did 2 minimarathons (walked). It is part of the Indianapolis 500 May Celebration - it was great fun - but that was 10 years ago - I think I'm too old now :lmao:

That's great - congratulations. I don't think I have the stamina to walk a full day like that. I mean, not w/o doing at least one ride every hour.

I'm a really low grade pirate, and it took me forever to figure out what all the fuss was about. When i wrote the first explanation, after reading the actual question, i was in a hurry, so i didn't do it justice. Sad if you knew i work in QA and actually write docs for interns and people in India. I kept wanting to take screen shots and put them in here, but it wouldn't let me.

I work in Pleasanton, would love to be in Bear Valley right now, it's so pretty this time of year. Love Angels Camp (the true City of Angels), and Murphy's. We actually live in Manteca though. Nice small town where everyone grew up together, and now the kids grow up together.

so Dan from Ca another vote for Yosemite, maybe I should create a poll.
you certainly have sold it well. Would it be best to hire a car? What sort of accommodation is there at Curry village?

You'll most likely hire a car. This is, after all, California, where any trip over a block traditionally involves driving :rolleyes1

In terms of lodging at Yosemite, it's largely a matter of your taste. Assuming you want to stay in the vally itself, your choices are pretty much as follows:

  • Ahwahnnee Hotel. Think of this as like the category 1 cruise cabin. Luxury in the tradition of the old classic national park lodges (which it is), $400+ /night.
  • Yosemite Lodge. Not really my favorite. Basically a motel in a nice location.
  • Curry Village. A mix of cabins (with or without bath) and tent cabins (think large tent with cots and public baths aka summer camp). Great for a "back to nature" style, but without the hassles.
  • Housekeeping Camp. Large tent style structures. Intended for people who are camping out but want a bit more comfort than camping out in your own tent.

I'm a big fan of Curry Village. The cabins are comfortable, the cost moderate. There's a large pool, general store, cafeteria, raft and bike rentals and an amphitheatre with nightly programs. It does get crowded though, especially in summer.

There are nice places outside of the park as well, but I haven't tried any of them myself.

If you do want to stay at Yosemite, book early.

Listen, if you saw me recently, you would NEVER believe it!! I USED to be an aerobics instructor, NOW I TEACH REGULAR SCHOOL, and things have "FALLEN APART" SO.......... I'm hoping that if I train for the next HM, maybe.........there will be an improvement or two.......DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!!:sad1:

Seriously, Andrew, best wishes on your check-up tomorrow!:grouphug:

Thx Kyla!! I'll probably use snail mail!!

Me again, just trying to catch up to Helen! When's that again!??:rotfl:

The only chance you'll have is when she's on holiday. But you wouldn't do that, would you?
