I think i will forever be earning my ears if I am to compare myself with you master posters.

-Carrie

Hi Carrie - don't let us scare you - just jump in and before you know it - you'll be hooked! :rotfl2: Its all in good fun and makes for a 'jolly' good fun when we met up in person!!

I lurked for many years before I joined in. Now, although I post a lot - I am all over the thread. Normally, I wait until late at night to post - recovering insominiac here - but since the DIS was out last night - just had to get my fix in today. While I'm at it - am doing :laundy: - honestly - I am - I really am! ::yes::

Plus on added benefit of posting alot - you get to memorize the codes for the smileys! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: :thumbsup2

That was hilarious that Andrew's kids got the major pirate award!!

It's hilarious until you realize....WAS IT REALLY HIS KIDS?????

Andrew's one sneaky pirate: I tell you - And he was quick on that TAKE WHAT YOU CAN AND GIVE NOTHING BACK!

Also, where do you get the counts by thread? I know I read that somewhere, but I can't remember where. This is where most of my posting is done - but I have a few others that I keep touch on.

Carrie, ANDREW (see blame him - he does at our other thread :lmao: :lmao: ) explained it to me. At the beginning, where you find our thread, at the right hand side is listed REPLIES column? Well if you click on the underline in the replies column for our thread, you get a new window opens that tells you the DIS member and the total posts in that thread.

Hope this helps - its fun to keep tally! :thumbsup2 But be warned - it's ADDICTING! ::yes::

Need I tell anyone that he's at the top of the list?

ARGH!!!!!!! pirate:

My problem right now is that i really don't want to write a stupid demo. I have 3 managers all asking for different things in the demo. Not all that bad, just include them all is my first thought. Only, they contradict each other.

It's so easy to just sit back and read the disboard. However, I only drank 1/2 a pot of coffee today. Laura, I think you had a whole pot. I thought your 'whole page' was hilarious.

BTW - Glad your trip east and back went fine. I swear i am going to have major withdrawals by the time we get home from the cruise. We had our AP in 2005, I think they expired in March 2006. We heard about the cruises coming, and decided not to renew. That we would put all the money we normally spend at DL into the cruise and it would be our next Disney vacation. I didn't think my DH was actually so serious about not even doing a day trip to DL. Even when he drove the kids to Morongo V. to spend some time with Gma, he didn't go!! I couldn't make the trip there anyway because of work, but if he had said he would go, work could have gone on w/o me for once.

So now, the last time I actually was down there was around Jan/Feb 2006. With all the latest changes going on I'm going nuts.

I would have loved to have been there for the Pirates premier. not that I would have loved the crowds. We did the Star Wars premier's that Lucas always does in Modesto. he was born there and really does a good job of giving back to the community. Tickets were 500 each and it all went to a new arts center.

Ok - seriously back to PPT and word. :)

See Carrie - this is how it goes - your only 1 away from formerCPer, whose been offline for a while, and only 2 away from profdisney and then only 3 away from Sandaneli.........

And so on and so on.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I did warn you it was addicting didn't I?

DD-14 wants me to get off the board so that I can take her to the Citadel - she's getting ready to graduate (8th grade) and wants that 'special dress' for her 8th grade party the parents are giving them as a reward. So, pretty soon, I'll be off.

And don't worry about DL, I went on Friday to renew both DD's AP, it was crowded and I found out about the POC AWE premiere - made sure I stayed away from there. And your DH was right - save your $$ - DCL will take it! ;)

BTW, where in SoCal are you? I'm about 15 minutes from DL - Norwalk.

and I'm up way too late, but I'm only 70 behind Laura

but I'm off to bed soon and she has all evening ahead of her

with Helen at a concert and Andrew retired to bed after his last coup it's left to me to fly the flag on this side of the pond

I don't know if you realised Laura but Keith and I are on the Eastbound next year

We did the mex 7 day in 2005, we spent the week before in LA and DL, then a week post cruise driving up the coast to San Francisco

We're looking for ideas for a week before this one in 2008, so all you west coasters if you have any ideas let me know.

I have a bunch of threads that I keep track of on a "subscription" and have the subscription in my bookmarks - when I pull them up, there isn't a column with "replies". I only see the replies column when I pull up the whole dis board - is there a better way to do this?:surfweb:

Have you noticed that the time is finally correct! Yeah!:hourglass

I hadn't noticed but I looked when you posted and my time is sorted too.

:rotfl2: You may have been ahead of me - but my "fluff posting" pulled me ahead. :lmao:

Alas! :sad2: DD wants me to take her shopping and she has a strong armhold that will break my arm so before it breaks - I must go! :rotfl2:

I don't know if you realised Laura but Keith and I are on the Eastbound next year

Nope - didn't realize it - but YEAH!!!!!!! I do now. Have you posted there yet? Crazy isn't it? :rotfl:

No probl! Love to give ideas. When in 2005 did you go? We went as a family on the July 23-30 one.

Yup on the main or whole dis board. That's where you go to look up the count. I think from there you just copy and past - haven't actually done that part - I just look and take note. :) Anyway, that's what Andrew told me.

I'm still getting the hang of this multi-quoting thing and sometimes I quote but forget what I was going to respond too. Oh well, you all know me as the slipping mind one now so who cares. :rotfl2:

Lyn - I will forever call you Lynn now -so hope you don't mind - just let me know if you want your whole DIS name quoted. Can't promise - but I'll try! :thumbsup2

I'm actually in NorCal. technically I think it is CenCal, but we always only want to split the state in two not three. I consider myself just shy of 5 hours from DL. Of course that's at about 85 mph - lol. (only did that once - i swear)

My MIL lives near Palm Springs, so we make the trip south a lot. Usually at least 2 or 3 times a year to take care of things for her. Then a few more times just to go to our home away from home.

I know the Citadel. Drive by it, but rarely stop. We've gone to cabazon a few times. I just get so board of shopping. Big change from when I was a SAHM. Now days, I just think of what I want, shop for it online to find the best price, then either order it online or go to the store to touch and feel it first. then I order it online.

Congratulations on her 8th grade graduation. My sons are exiting 3rd and 5th this year. Can't wait till August, we will get home from the cruise and will get their STAR results. last year my eldest scored a perfect 600 in math, and only missed language arts by 12. He had to add science this year, which should be a breeze for him. My youngest did pretty good too. And knowing where his weekness was last year, we focused on it this year. Will be nice to see if it helped. Doubt it as he is stubborn and already has a teenager attitude. Did I mention he's only 9 though? he thinks he knows it all, and how to do everything. Very unopen to listening to alternative ideas.

OK - once again - put off the demo. At least I am getting enough done in between posts that it is logging me off the board.

double post...some people will do anything to keep their post count high

Hi Kugalbelle (sorry if I misspelled your name - no harm meant!) Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I will be traveling with 3 young adults. I had the same thing happen 2 summer ago - my oldest - DS-21 at the time of the cruise is my social butterfly and so I don't worry about him. In the past, he's made lots of friends that he still keeps in contact with. In fact, next summer - his group he met 2 yrs ago will be re-uniting on their anniversary date - AND they met on the cruise via DJ Pike. (There's a name for some of us repeat cruisers. Does anyone know if he's still on?)

Anyway, my DD-20 -18 at the time had the same problem. Too old for the teen club and consequently she ended up stuck like glue to us. This year, we decided to avoid all that that we'd take her BFF with us. Funny thing is, this will be BFF's first major run at an airplane ride and out of the country. I tell you - when we decided to initiate - we go gung-ho! :rotfl:

As you mentioned, there will probably be something for the kids, I wouldn't worry about it - but if your daughter would like to talk with my DD-20 - her name is Megan and she will more than gladly write her if she wants. Megan is rather on the shy side but with her friends - she's the courageous one. BTW, she loves to try new adventures and has been on several Disney cruises before. She was the first one to do a beachside parasailing and the first to go down Blizzard Beach Summit Plunge! :scared1: Now she tells me she wants to do some zip line plunge next year! Double :scared1: :scared1: So... if she can help you break the ice with your DD - let us know. She has just completed her 2nd year of college and is getting ready to commit back a UC system. With help from mom of course! :rotfl2:

Anyway, let me know if you'd like her to contact your daughter - congrats BTW, anytime our ST's (Stinky Teens) graduate to adulthood, I think is a major milestone and should be celebrated! :thumbsup2 Good job there!

My DD is busy with finals at the moment and will be home as soon as she's done - around June 23rd. Will chat to her and let you know ... thanks for the info and offer.
Charmaine

Thanks Laura, for posting the method for checking numbers of posts, I thought Andrew had a pen and paper and some sort of tally chart next to his computer
