As ome of you know I also have a Tread for this sasme cruise but for the week before(am doing a back to back)...I found this thread that has been up and runnig since there 2005 Mexican Riviera cruise...I asked if they would mind coming over to my thread and telling us about htere excursions and such so some did...so the next few posts that I will be posting are from them:thumbsup2 ..first one is below

I am posting from the July 30, 2005 cruise board. Got Disney requested some insight on our cruise, so here are thoughts. As far as the points I do know that we did part points and part cash because there are five of us. DH would know if he were awake!! :rotfl2:

What I can share with you about our experience is limited. I took a tour with three other families I met on the board in Mazatlan. The tour guide, Frank, was awesome! http://www.mazatlan-frank.com/ He took us all around the city which was very interesting. I also took my three children (then ages 11, 8, & 6) in PV to the dolphin excursion through Disney. I choose to spend a little more and use Disney because I was going alone with the kids. I like that they pick you right up at the boat, took you straight to the facility and straight back. It was money well spent for the kids, but there were many adults as well. I kind of wish I had done it. In Cabo we just took the kids to the beach and sat at "The Office" and enjoyed Dos Equis!! It is one of the restaurants right on the beach that has outdoor tables covered.

I know a couple of the other families took the excursion that was like repelling through the forest. They absolutely loved it! Also there were some who when horseback riding with a lady named Randi and enjoyed it as well. http://www.randishappyhorses.com/I exchanged e-mails with her a couple of times, but limited my choices due to $ traveling with three kids since we had also spent a week at DL before the cruise! On the otherhand, DH only got off the boat in Cabo. He was perfectly fine with the boat and no one on it!!

On board a group did tequilla tasting (sorry I missed that!) and we did wine tasting! I loved that! I think pirate night was after we departed Mazatlan, but can't remember for sure.

The ports themselves were really not that thrilling to me, to be honest. I can't say that I would choose that particular cruise again, but do not regret I did it. It's another part of the world I have experienced! The best part of the cruise, by far, was the friendships I made. Several of us have maintained our friendships for the last almost two years. We have met in NYC (some more than once) and had a reunion last summer at WDW for a few days. I have to say that the people I met will be friends I will have for life because of our common interest in Disney. It's amazing how you can learn about people on the internet!!

Enjoy your cruise and feel free to let me know if you have anymore questions!

Hey Robin!

I am responding to your questions on the Summer 2005 West Coast thread. I mostly did DCL excursions. Some members of our group booked privately. The highlights were................you MUST do the canopy tour in PV, there is a private tour in Mazatlan with Frank? and a horseback riding tour that the others Loved!! Also in Cabo, watch out for the street vendors.............THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

You will have a wonderful time!! Pirate night was the middle of the cruise, I forgot what night..........you can ask us questions anytime!!!

Hey Robin I'm also replying from the other thread
I went on the zip line trip in PV I also went out on a eco tour with wild dolphins that morning and that night ended up with sunstroke and missed the pirate party and fireworks!!! I've cruised again since and seen it so don't feel too bad for me!

The dolphins and zip line I booked privately, If you don't normally see wild dolphins and are a good swimmer the dolphin tour was great, A couple of marine research scientists show a video of the dolphins and tell you about the 2 pods that stay in the bay, then you go on an inflatable to spot them we saw a few from a distance then they came closer, the first time we got in the water the 2 animals weren't a bit interested and swam on by, but the second time 3 or 4 animals keep swimming through the group they were very fast and you had to be comfortable diving and swimming with them the dolphins were definitely in charge.
The zip line tour was with the other company to the one disney use they have a pick up in town and when we went to get a cab there we ended up sharing it with DCL staff as they too were using this company. We had a wonderful time I'm a little wary about heights but we really enjoyed ourselves.

In Maz as the others have said we rode with Randi and then met Frank for a city tour all excellent. Organised by ourselves.

In Cabo we took a trip with Shore Trips and rode ATVs through the desrt park we stopped at several points and were told about the geology abd flora and fauna in the desert mostly we went at the groups speed but at one point we were able to do our own thing.
In the PM we took the disney boat trip out to the arch waste of money wish I'd done a local boat trip.

Hope this helps you know where to find me if you need more info.

Hello again everyone - my turn to pull us up to page 1.

We are busy planning things for the Eastbound Med repo and the First Med Cruise. Lots going on there. I'm looking forward to more planning on this thread in the future.

When we did the first PC repo, we rode the ATV at Desert Park also. Great fun and we will probably do it again. We have done zip lines in St. Lucia so that might be a good one also.

Have a great week!
Ken

There just has to be a few more people signed up for this cruise. Hello - anyone out there?

Ken

Hi everyone....I'm still here. WOW wish I as planning my Med cruise:banana:
The other thread that I have up for the other week that I am doing for the MR is up and moving a little faster than here but not by much. sure it will start within the next few months so we may just have to keep bumping till we are found:thumbsup2

I will make sure that this thread stays bumped while you are off having a wonderful time in the Mediterranian(sp)....

I am off to go get my son from school so I will check back later...so till than...:hippie: peace out...lol...

Hello everyone...
Well we have 2 things to be happy about...we are one day closer to our cruise, and also it is Friday :woohoo: ...Yay for both:thumbsup2

I have been checking out around the boards and have been finding lots of info new and old on out cruise. I can't wait to start making my door magnits again...that is fun. Iknow sounds like I have nothing better to do and that if making magnits is so exciting that I must have a preety boaring life....

Well I love making the magnits cause I can escape from my everyday exsistance(sp) of 3 kids, 3 dogs, 2 cant 2,fish and my Dh and also outr 83 yo Roommate and must not forget away from cleaning my 2 story 5 bedroom house ....

I cover my cabin door and they look great. It's also fun to make and put on.

If anyone needs some tips on making the magnits let me know. We should also come up with a magnit that is for all of us DISers on this cruise.

So anyone else out there have to get there passports ? We have always just used out BC...seemed a waste to use the $$$$$ for that...would rather just use the $$$ on the cruise. That is why we never have bothered. Once you show it, it just goes back into the safe anyway till it is time to leave and you pack it again:confused3

I beleive that Adults will need them but not kids....have to check the ages for that...does anyone know?

Well I hope you all have a great weekend...I will catch ya all later...

:hippie: peace out :rotfl:

Hi Robin

OK - you can be the magnet queen and I'll be the name badge and lanyard king. One of our other cruiser has been working on a 10 year logo. He said he would send it to me this wekend for comment. Once we get a logo nailed down, we can start doing all sorts of fun things.

I've done name badges and lanyards for four cruises. So, I will be happy to do them again for this cruise.

Have a great weekend!

I'm not looking forward to the flights either. But yes, we are getting excited about the cruise(s). We are doing the B2B thing with the Med repo and First Med cruise, so it's really getting close now. We've got excursions planned for every port at this point except Castaway Cay. We are mostly doing the general sightseeing excursions - doing some winery tours in France and Spain. Going into Rome, Florence and Pisa with Disboarder groups on our own. It should be great!!!!

Hi Robin- I would be the guy working on a logo. Ken has done a logo in the past for name tags, but I was trying for a logo that could go on T-shirts, buttons, magnets, etc without being rejected for copyright issues. I will try to get it to Ken this week.Ken can post it as I am not that good at graphics and posting. Alex
