July 27, 2008 West Coast Magic - 10 Years of Magical Cruising

Good to hear Shari and Staci, had a good time.

Will check out the Crown Plaza and Double Tree.

Might also do the DL thing will see, SNA does have more flights, LAX can be a pain.

Note to self , bring surgical mask so as not to get sick from Linda LOL!!!

I gotta make sure we have it together for our Oct WDW trip, and the Sept DL trip.

You got all my family, but missed me, my wife & son. :rotfl2:

Sorry;) you are know efficially added:thumbsup2 .....I think...you may want to double check:cutie:

If anyone cruises the boards and finds something else to add let me know:hippie:

I am on the phone listening to High Ho with Disney to book DL for NYE, figured what the heck it will be packed but fun.
Has anyone else ever done Disney at NYE?

We did the day before and the day of NYE, but left for home before it got real ugly. As we were leaving (midafternoon) the line to get in snaked all the way back to DCA.

NYE and 4th of July are the 2 busiest days in the Park.

The only good thing is that the Christmas decorations will probably be still up.

Good Morning Kids,

Hope all are having a good weekend. Just finished a 5 mile training run, it felt good.
The pups went with me and they are happy now that they have had their breakfast. Felling pretty good that we will be ready for the DL ½ marathon. We have a 5K run next weekend, then off to Denver to see a baseball game, Cubs v Rockies.

Lynn is sleeping and I think we will have Breakfast burritos for breakfast. We went to the Farmers Market yesterday and they had some great stuff. Scored some great roasted chilies, will use them in the burritos, some very fresh Basil will have that with tomatoes and mozzarella for lunch.

Got the garage floor painted and the old homestead here on the prairie is coming together. Might put up some wall in the basement today, after we check out our County Fair.

Sounds like everyone has been busy, that is a good thing. Wishing all well.

Thought of the day week or whenever, Remember all the things that you can count might not really count.

A question for those of you that went on the Mexican Riviera cruise in 2005.

We went on that cruise, but drove down the day of the cruise, so we didn't board until early afternoon.

Were the boarding times similar to Port Canaveral?? I'm seeing notes of people boarding at 10:30am????

Does anyone have any info on this?

thanks for the links really appreciate it.

Disembarkation was a real mess at LA on the first repo cruise back in 2005. I hope they have it all figured out for this time around. I'm looking forward to driving to the port instead of having to fly to Florida.

Ken

We're a 4 hour drive away. We're thinking about coming the night before so that we can be at port earlier in the morning.

Is it worth it?

We like to get on board as soon as possible - so that means getting to the port early. I guess it comes down to personal perference. Don't we get on board on a Sunday. If so, traffic shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure that we will plan to be there by 10 or so at the latest - but we only have a little over an hours drive.

I agree they lost our luggage and also almost missed our Limo home.
We are driving also. WE will be driving in from DL so we are planning on getting there no later than 10:00 also.

I gotta make sure we have it together for our Oct WDW trip, and the Sept DL trip.

We are flying in and out of Long Beach for our Labor Day weekend trip for the 1/2 marathon. You may want to check it out Scott. Fly in on Saturday morning and arrive at 9:35 a.m. and then leave Tuesday a.m. out of Long Beach at 10:05 a.m. on Delta.

Also, I had reservations at the Fairfield, but they were $149 a night. Checked with my AP for DL and was able to snag a room at the Paradise Pier for $169 per night. So I cancelled the Fairfield and moved over to Paradise Pier.

For next July.......well hadn't even thought that far yet. Just have too many other cruises before then. We will probably fly in on Friday night or Saturday morning, spend a day at DL and then head to the port on Sunday morning. Might as well get a day in at the park since I don't have to take a vacation day off to do it!

Is anyone else in this group on late seating, or are we going to have to switch to main seating to sit with all our friends?
Lynn:eeyore:

Lynn:eeyore:

You might want to switch to main now, and then if you find any "friends" on the late you could switch back. I was somehow on late, but switched to main today when I called DCL.

Our Thanksgiving cruise went down $1,000 so I called and got it adjusted since we don't pay off until September 3rd! And we have a $200 onboard credit still too.

Okay, back to work.

Hey Kids we did the 5K Race for the Cure today, it was fun, My time was 30.29 so getting a little faster.

We are traveling to Denver to see the Cubs and Rockies. Should be fun.

Have a great weekend.
