July 23, 2005 West Coast Cruise

Hi!

Clemcat, we booked the folkloric show as well. The Pirate trip sounded like a lot of fun! A trip report said it was great except to many jellyfish in the snorkeling area. It may have had to do with the full moon they said.

I hope everyone is having luck booking their excursions.

Oh great! Will see you at the Folkloric show. I read that about jellyfish, I am not sure my kids will even go snorkeling, they just want on that pirate ship! I am a little tempted to just go on my own in Cabo San Lucas but I am a little scared to do that. I have read some intersting posts about nice places outside of the excursions through Disney. I guess I have time to read and decide, great thing about these boards! There are a lot of things to do before the cruise and sounds like a lot of stuff to run around and do once you are onboard. I feel a little overwhelmed! I read about a class a lady took "The Art of Entertaining", do you know anything about classes offered on the ship?

We plan on doing the Paradise Beach Adventure in PV and the Chileno Bay Snorkel in Cabo. We read several good posts about both excursions from previous cruisers.

I will be taking the classes as well. I do event planning and candle parties for a living so I thought they would be fun to take. I have heard good things about them plus I believe if you take all of them - yuo get a pin of some type. I read this somewhere but forgot where I read it. I will see if I can find it. As close as I can tell...they offer 2 classes a day. They seem to be at 10L:45 and 2:00 pm.

Hello everyone !!

We planed this summer vacation from in October 2004.
Recently I can't sleep well thinking about this cruise. :goodvibes

I look forward to can meet all of you with Cruise. pirate:

Boy, I'm getting homesick reading about Santa Fe Springs area! I grew up in South Whittier and worked at that Sears on Telegraph. Maybe I'm showing my age, I know it's been gone for a while. We are trying to decide on excursions too. I can't decide between Chileno Bay or the Los Arcos Kayak and Snorkel. My sister did the latter and loved it. On some of the boards I read about practically free beaches but I'm not sure about doing things on our own. I would like to get together on the cruise, that sounds like fun! We have two boys, 10 and 12.

I just read about the Paradise Beach Adventure, that sounds good! My son wants to do the dolpin swim but I don't know if I can justify the money!

My family well be going on this cruise along with my cousins!!!! WE ARE SO EXCITED! It;s are third Disney Cruise!!! THey keep getting better and better!!

My family will be going on the July 23 cruise. We are first time cruisers and are so excited! We are not even telling our kids (DD5 and DS11). We live in Oxnard,CA so we are just going to tell them we are taking a drive down to the Long Beach Aquarium for the day. When we get to the port and see the Magic, we are going to give them the big news. It is the hardest secret to keep! My DH and I have resorted to talking in code!

So far I have just booked one excursion, the Paradise Village in P.V. Still trying to decide about the other two ports. I tried to book Palo reservations, but it looks like they are full. I hope we can get reservations after we board. Looking forward to sharing a great adventure with you all!

Hello Mary :sunny:
I juse read your comment. For your kids, it's really a big news.
How do you pack in secret??? What's the secret code??
M(mexico) or D( disney) or C ( cruise )..... :teacher:
Maybe it's a wonduful code.
I pray for your plan going well and your kids should be pleased on that day. :cheer2:
See you again !!

Well, so much for keeping a secret! My kids overheard a message on our answering machine from my mother-in-law. I was enlisting her help on getting my DH's birth certificate. They didn't quite understand, but knew enough that I decided to let them in on the plan. I did make them play 20 questions to find out the surprise though! They are over the top excited. My son starts every morning by announcing the number of weeks and days left until the cruise. He is like our personal town crier. We have booked two excursions, the Paradise Village in P.V. and the City Tour and Folkloric Show in Mazatlan. I also have a couple of appointments set up at the spa. Since this is our first cruise, I welcome any advice and insights from repeat DCL cruisers.

West Coast Navigators including kid navigators are available at "allearsnet dot com".

A couple of our favorite tips are the over-the-door-shoe-bag (to keep extra toiletries, small misc items, spare batteries, etc) and eating at Parrot Cay for lunch on embarkation day.

Has anyone received their cruise doc's yet? I know that it is still a little early, but we are getting so excited and having trouble waiting. We did finally get our room assignments though so it makes it more real.

Just a few more weeks!

Well we fly off today to start our vacation (from the UK and as a teacher am going for a while!) and we have no docs. Our TA says they are not sending them out until 7-14 days out which is very different to normal. We will get ours at the pier which is a pain. They won't deliver to any Disneyland hotels either but they do to WDW ones.
Anyway hopefully I will see some of you on board - have a "Magical" time!
Wendy

Hello Wendy

I also don't recieve our docs. Before trip, we recieved our docs 4weeks before DCL.

I asked our TA today, she said they did't recieve our docs from Disney Cruise company.

So TA will send our docs to our hotel (WDW) !!

We start our summer vacation on July 13th ! :hourglass

See you at the Disney Magic :cool1:

Hi all! Hope you don't mind that I am joining in. I have been lurking up to this point. I received the docs two days ago. Early, I know. At least I assume that is what I got (a package with the ticket booklets/luggage tags, etc). I didn't expect them for another week or two. Maybe I have them early because I am in So Cal..but that makes no sense, as I am sure they are sent from somewhere on the east coast. Can you tell that I am totally lost with this whole cruise concept :confused3

My dd8 is just going crazy anticipating this vacation. Would love to hear more about you!

Nice meeting you all :wave2:

I can't believe that we only have just over 3 weeks until our cruise! I want to set up a meet on the cruise for us Disboard'ers. Anyone interested?

I am looking at Sunday since it is a day at sea and early in the cruise.

Take care,

Desiree

Hi Desiree,

I would love to hook up with others from the Disboard on the cruise. Since this is a first for my family it would be nice to have an opportunity to meet some nice people while we are traveling.

We just heard from our TA that DCL sent out our docs yesterday (6/30), so we should be getting them soon.
