July 23, 2005 West Coast Cruise

I hope you both have a great time in Mazatlan. Hopefully we will run into each during the cruise and I can hear all about it. We only have the one excursion booked. We couldn't decide really what to do so we decided just to do our own thing. We shall see how it goes.

I am getting more excited by the day! We booked this in May 2004 and it seemed so far away but it's almost here!

:cheer2: Come on July 23rd!

My docs are arriving today according to the TA! My sister took the Chileno Bay excursion and loved it. I tried to book it but it was sold out. I've read nothing but great things about Mazatlan Frank. I hope Randis Horses are as good!

Melinda

I got my docs yesterday. I wasn't upgraded...but I wasn't expecting it either. :flower: We're right in the middle of the ship and I've heard that's the best place in case you feel motion sickness. We've never cruised before so I don't know how we'll feel.

Desiree- We booked in May 2004 too. The cruise seemed sooooo far away then. My kids asked me "how long until we go on the cruise?" and I told them oh, about 400 days! When I told them 20 days the other day they got so excited.

We're ready to go! :moped: <- I've just always wanted to use that!

I'm going to look for a passporter when I'm at the bookstore today. I'm not sure I'll need it since I have gotten a lot of info on these boards but I want to check it out. Does anyone have one?

Diana

Hello

I don't have the passporter but I have a different one from Birnbaum. Most of the info I already knew. I have learned more from this board.

No docs yet but I expect them anytime..I will call the TA on Friday if still nothing. I have my door magnets ready! I am starting to pack things up...we are definitely ready to go!

Desiree

No docs yet :confused3

I have a copy of the Passporter (the current edition edition that includes the West Coast cruises). While it is true that you do learn a lot more from these boards, the Passporter has the info in one spot.

I hope everyone is excited about going as we are :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We're excited!! LOL

I ordered the Passporter last night. I was at the bookstore and they only had the Walt Disney World edition in stock but the book looked really neat so I wanted one for the cruise. I thought the same thing---having all the info in one spot will come in handy. I ordered through the Passporter site so I can't wait to get it. I also can't wait to get on board and order an unlimited supply of these :mickeybar .

My husband brought one home for me yesterday since I was talking about the book. It is really interesting. I learned a few things!

Also, I went to Target yesterday and was buying my travel stuff when I noticed a little item called "Handy Sacks" by Hefty. It is 10 - 4 gal plastic bags in a tiny pouch. I think it was .79. I bought one because we are forever having to stick something in a plastic bag. I usually carry some grocery size ones but I thought this was nice because you can just keep them tucked away until you need them.

I bought my over-the door shoe holder as well. I went to the .99 store here but they no longer carry them.

Counting days!

I am so excited that our documents came this morning. That really does mean that we are close to the time to cruise.
I have made my door magnet signs and bought the over the door holders but am still looking into pirate night stuff. We can't decide what to do. The older kids are on a teen sunset cruise that night so they won't be at the dinner but they will be back for the party on the deck with the fireworks. This cruise is going to be a blast!
Our family can't wait!!!!!

We are going to buy our stuff at DL this weekend for pirate night. I looked at the local party store but they did not have anything.

There is a small store at Shoreline Village (near the Queen Mary) in Long Beach that sells only pirate stuff. I don't have all the info with me but I will post it when I get a chance. They have a website so you can see what they have.

I was just wondering, what nights are the Pirate Night and the Formal Night on? And I also want to know, do you have to dress up as pirates on pirate night? I'm not sure if I could find a pirate costume 2 weeks away from the cruise, nevertheless 5.

Formal Night should be Sunday Night and Pirate Night should be Tues/Wed. You can dress Tropical (we have hawiian dresses/shirts) and are getting a Pirate's Eye patch this weekend..they will be giving out bandannas to wear on the ship.

Thanks so much, my family is utterly clueless when it comes to finding out things like this, they didn't even KNOW there was a pirate night and formal night and we've done a Disney Cruise before :rotfl:

Hey I haven't posted on here in a long time (probably cuz I forgot how to get here and how to do it) I am excited to hear that there are A LOT of neighbors going on this cruise. I live in Norwalk and in browsing noticed a lot of Whittier, La Mirada border friends and neighbors. :goodvibes To: A Little Pixie Dust- My husband and I graduated from Glenn also in in '84. It's really a small world isn't it? Anyway, haven't really had time to read all the thread I was just skimming and came across that one post. However, if I can catch up would love to hear from anyone. BTW, departure day happens to be my b-day - if anyone sees a lady walking around with a white banner and pink "Birthday Girl" on her body - please say hi - would love to meet any new friends.

P.S. - Hubby and I helped bring the Magic in on May 28 - it was a once in a lifetime trip. Loved it. If I can help answer any questions, would love to help just e-mail me. Thanks.

Nice to meet you! I went to Hargitt Elementary across the street from Glen (when it was an elementary). I grew up in Norwalk..then La Miarada and now my married life is in Whittier! ( I didn't stray to far.)

One important thing so you don't have to read the entire thread.. we are having a Disboards meet on Sunday the 24th at the Promanade Lounge at 11:30 a.m. Would love to meet your family!
