It’s so sad to see something you have such a deep attachment to no longer be a part of your lifePollyannaMom...I do so love my coffee too.
We went to church this morning. My childhood church which I attended until I was 22, is closing down and merging with my current church. I joined my current church after we were married 31 years ago. We attended there for many years, but eventually transferred to a church in our neighborhood so that DD would be attending Sunday School with some of her school friends. Being back in our old church really feels like home, and now that my childhood church is merging with us, there's no doubt that I will see some people I haven't seen in a very long time. Summer attendance is always lower, so I didn't see anyone that looked familiar today, but hopefully in the fall I will. It's sad to see that church cease to be a church. My Grandma was their organist and choir director when I was a child. I used to help her in so many ways every Sunday morning, and of course, I sang in the children's choir and eventually the youth choir. No news on the position of Children's Ministry Director, but the Pastor isn't addressing it right now...clearly he has his hands full. I just hope that if he does decide to hire me, he will do it early enough for me to prepare for Rally Day and the reopening of Sunday School. There will be so much to do while at the same time, I will be starting a new school year. Ugh.
We are beginning to prepare for vacation, and since it's a sunny day, we will be outside enjoying the pool.
What is your healthy living motivation, going into this mid-summer week?
De-cluttering is such a big chore but also so rewarding! Good luck getting going on it.I'm motivated to hydrate better!! It's been so hot and humid that my normal "acceptable" standards are just not good enough, and I think I've been feeling kind of off because of it.
I'm also trying to muster up some decluttering motivation. I definitely have way too much stuff, but I also frequently have "just the right thing". - So I'm trying to convince myself that in the long run, calm uncluttered spaces will benefit me more than being able to pull things off quickly.
I have a big chance to get rid of stuff coming up at the beginning of August, and I want to take advantage of that.
Hope you have fun with your pre-trip tasks... they are kind of like the pre-show at Disney. This week I will continue to make healthy food choices and walk on the treadmill in the A/C.
I can’t go in the pool until the heatwave breaks. Temperatures are going to be in the mid 90’s with 93% humidity.
Fortunately, next week the highs will be in the 70’s where we are staying on the bay. I guess I will need to pack some jeans and sweatshirts. There’s no A/C, so it’ll be better than the last two years for sleeping. 2022 was rough with no sea breeze and hazy hot and humid weather.
I am getting ready for our trip with an oil change and whatever else is needed. I requested a car wash, but he couldn’t promise me anything…usually just the Lincolns get a wash.Well excuse me. I am going to do some errands and then fill up the gas tank. I probably won’t be driving anywhere else until we leave.
