July 2012 Resort and ADR Lists Thread...Countdown to Disney!

In 2007 and 2009 we stayed at All Star Movies and requested Toy Story Rooms both times. This year were staying at PoP and I really want to request something close to the food court, but I think all those are preferred and I didn't pay for preferred.

Can't believe you are so close! Less than a week for you now! Yay!

Question of the day....

Does anyone make any special room requests at your resort of choice or do you take what you get?

We have never made any room requests, we're just grateful we are staying on property! If we have to look at a parking lot for 7 nights, so be it...besides it IS a Disney parking lot. Luckily, we have good luck by just taking what we get.

On our Honeymoon we just requested a standard, garden-view room at the GF and we ended up in Concierge with a view of a pool. Talk about pixie dust!

In 2010, we booked a Woods View room at WL, and ended up with a room that overlooked the lobby and a view of MK fireworks at night.

This year we'll be staying in a two bedroom lake view villa and didn't make any special requests.

I don't think we are on this trip, but usually I will. I know the layouts and conveneiences the best of my family, so they trust me to make a good judgement. For example, we stayed at SSR in May and I requested Congress Park on the DTD walkway and everyone loved it! This trip, as we're staying at BWV, we don't really mind. Pool, river, or Crescent Lake view, we'll be happy DISers!​

I have not in the past, however I may this year as would really like a high floor with a fireworks view. With that said we will be happy with what is assigned because we will be at DISNEYWORLD!!!

I'm taking my DW (no kids) to POR for our 10th Anniversary 7/24-7/28

A have started packing things like fans, toys for the kids, glow sticks, toiletries we won't need, but nothing is in a suitcase yet.

We're a little packed. Toiletries are packed (except for last minute things like contacts), and I've sorted through a ton of (wrinkled) clothes. I'll either have to run the clothes through the dryer or iron them.

Hmmmmm....we started a Disney "pile"...the pile contains items that are going to Disney, that we know we won't need until then...we can't really pack yet, because we have a trip to take this coming Friday (flying down to MD), and we need our suitcases, travel items, etc... for that trip. But...once we get back from MD (we will only have 12 days left at that time)...IT'S ON!!!! I will be packing, packing, packing!!!! I can't wait!!!

Good Day to Solana 131 - I have a question??? My DD12 and I will be at POFQ from July 14th through July 22nd. I noticed you and your family will arrive on the 18th.

I normally rent a car the first day to do our run arounds and go to Wal-Mart for a few things, but my DD said no - just order from Garden Groc.
I will be ordering a case of water and gatorade from Garden Groc. I will not reach the minimum $$ amount required. Do you need any items from Garden Groc to be delivered, and would you like to split the delivery cost.

Usually I am packed weeks before a trip, but usually I am going from winter to summer climates. This time I can't pack until last minute because I need all my summer clothes here. It is driving this compulsive planner INSANE! I just want to be packed and ready

Very nearly packed. DH is off today running last minute errands. The only things left to pack are the things we need to get dressed in the morning and stuff to entertain the kids in the car

I am stressing a little about the drive, though. We are coming from Texas and when I checked this morning I-10 was still closed from US 90 to I-75. I have found us an alternate route but I am not sure what impact all of the rain has on the roads around I-10. We have a ressies tomorrow night in Tallahasse - DH is checking to see how things are there. Oh well, where there is a will, there is a way. Safe travels to everyone heading out the next few days.

Technically not started. Although I got a bunch of travel toiletries for my birthday and they are all together, and I have started my list...which seems to grow every day haha.

I'm a little packed. All the suitcases are out in the guest room. Beach towels, bathing suits, some shoes, and some toiletries are packed (just got back from a Walgreens run)!

When I do the laundry for next week is when the fun will really begin!

The only bag that is completely packed is the "Snacks Suitcase" and when I say snacks suitcase, I mean the entire thing is full of just that. I'm so so scared that DD's blood sugar is going to go all crazy, so I have a whole suitcase full of juice boxes, Multi-grain cherrios, various 100 calorie snacks (which are the carb # we shoot for when she's low), skittles. I figure then we'll have an extra empty suitcase to pack souvenirs!

Other than that, I have just about everything else packed except for stuff that I'll need until Sunday.
