July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

It's getting exciting now, huh? Even though I stopped posting on the WISH thread a few weeks ago, I was kinda sorta sticking to my diet and I did manage to lose 20 lbs or so, so I did go buy some new shorts and bathing suits and was happy with that. I'm kind of mentally out of that mode now, but may get back into it for the next few weeks if I really try.

WOW - well done!!!!!

I think I've lost a couple of pounds - lol! I'm probably actually a couple of pounds lighter than I was when I was over last year but I'm not going to bother taking the tight stuff with me this time like I did last year lol!

Things like the pets are the only reason I'm glad my son isn't going. My dog is so crazy that I would have to board her somewhere. If anyone watched her, she'd probably run away and end up in the shelter for the 4th time needing to be bailed out :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I hope it does, too! I did get my ME tags and hopefully will really start getting my act together by the end of this week.

  • Today we're having a family party (aka my parents, two brothers and their families) for dinner and cake for DD's birthday.
  • Tomorrow is actually her birthday and I'm taking her and two nieces and SIL into NYC to the American Girl Cafe for lunch and to just walk around Times Square when we're done with lunch.
  • Wednesday I go in the hospital for a procedure.
  • Next Sunday we're supposed to go to my nephew's HS graduation party, but it's a 2.5 hr drive, so I have to see how I'm feeling about that after Wed.
  • Then I must start really getting things together.

I haven't even made lists yet of what to pack, even though DH is already telling me things like Advil and stuff that needs to be bought. Geez, I'm not even at that stage yet!

Anyone think we're going to need insect repellant? I just don't remember if we needed it or not.

I'm still unsure on the whole socks and sneakers thing. I should probably wear them, but my feet get way too hot. I am wearing them to the airport, though, because I need socks on to walk through security. I will not do it barefoot!

For 8 days (2 waterpark visits and a pool 1/2 day included) I figure we'll need like 12 underwear each and DH will need 12 pairs of socks. DD and I will be mostly wearing flip flops or sandals. I have two bathing suits each. The other choice is to bring 6 of each and do laundry 1/2 way through.

I really hate doing laundry on vacation.

We're flying JetBlue and are allowed 1 bag each under 50 lbs. Anyone want to contribute suggestions? What do you all think I should do re: clothes. Pack 1/2 and do laundry or pack it all and just wash it when I get home, lettin TSA sift through dirty, smelly clothes? ROFL

My cat's are well behaved and to be honest I feel so bad that I would have had to leave even one of them with someone they don't know:sad1: I'm just glad my mom said to bring them both along.

I haven't posted on the WISH board in a while either but I did manage to loose another 2lbs since the last time I posted  I bought a size smaller in shorts, some new smaller bra's (YAY!) but my shirt size is pretty much still the same..oh well 2 out of three isn't bad! I can now feel comfortable in a bikini (which btw I haven't worn since I was a teenager!):banana:

Much as I hate doing laundry on vacation, we are still going that route (love the all in one sheets!). Because we are military, we don't have to pay baggage check fees on up to 3 bags per passenger (up to 100 lbs!). Were only checking 3 bags though (2 duffels and a stroller in it's bag).

I'm bringing off wipes just in case because honestly I'll be doing enough spraying with sunblock:rotfl2:. As for the shoes, everyone in my family is wearing kayak shoes. No having to deal with stuffing wet shoes with news paper at night and they are comfortable as all get out) Aside from that we have one pair of dress shoes each and flip flops (which DH will NOT wear because the length of his toes are embaressing to him).

My trip to Kohls was successful, not only did DD find a pair of sneakers on sale, I found a pair. I wasn't planning on getting a new pair, but I could not turn down the deal. They were regularly $120 on sale for $37. I then got another 10% off because it looked like someone had returned them (the bottom was dirty) and than had a 20% off. I got them for under $30 with tax. They are the same brand, just a different style that I got last year and they were super comfy. They are the Avia Avi-motion.

I am planning on doing some laundry halfway through. I have enough undies, shirts and socks, but not enough shorts.......we could hang in the laundry room together at the Boardwalk :rotfl2: Seriously, if you can get away without doing it, that is always my first choice. We are flying SW so we can take 2 bags per person, and I will take as much as possible, so that if I have to do laundry it will be as little as possible. I bought the Purex 3 in 1 sheets so they do not take up any room.

I bought a sample size of OFF, we really have not needed bug spray the last few summers but we are going over to Ft. Wilderness for Hoop De Doo, and I remember needing it last time we were over there ( although that could have been because we were fishing).

I just love Kohls! I got a 30% off coupon this week and was able to get some shorts, tops, and capris. I have lost enough weight that what I had was too big. Yay!! Now I have $30 in Kohls cash that is good starting after July 4th for any last minute needs. DS and I also got new sneakers yesterday and are working on breaking them in.

Responding to both of y'all at the same time...:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for Khols and Khols CASH! Also congrats to everyone from the WISH board on their weight losses!

Ok so CM appreciation cards are printed, cut and in my Mickey bag along with pre-cut mole skin to go on those areas of shoes that rub. I'm thinking about snagging a small pair of scissors and putting them into one of the checked bags but not sure if I will need them (what do you guys think). I have my purex sheet's ready to go. Tomorrow I'm calling the nice lady I arranged to watch DD's cat and telling her that "There has been a change in plans and I don't need someone to watch Izzy anymore." It is the most polite way I could think of telling her. I realized today that if DH get's in on the 10th, I have 14 days until I see him again! That's 2 weeks!:woohoo::woohoo:

I am so sorry this has happened. You might want to PM Cheshire Figment on the boards......he is an experienced CM with lots of info about tickets....perhaps if you explain the situation he would have some good advice.

I PM'd Cheshire Figment, and got an answer back. Great news!!!:thumbsup2 In case anyone else is interested also....seems there is at least one ticket window and one guest relations window open at all parks at least 30 mins prior to anyone being allowed into the parks. This includes anyone going in for ADR's, so since our reservation at BBB isn't until 8:55, we're gonna be fine!

So we had DD's bday party yesterday. She turns 7 on Thursday. It was so cute, Mickey & Minnie. I made all the kids Mickey or Minnie ears, we had a pinata, water sponge wars (we do sponges instead of balloons) I made her a Mickey head cake....and all the kids had a BLAST!!! (and the adults did too!) It was a great party, and it made it even more exciting to DD knowing there's not even 2 weeks til our vacation! :cool1:

I always take a small pair of scissors. On our first trip DH got terrible blisters, and we bought mole skin but had to go to the front desk at WL to borrow scissors to cut it with! Now I take moleskin and scissors.

So exciting you get to see your DH so soon!!

Congrats to all of you who lost weight! :)

Between all the headaches I was having and the ongoing sinus infection, I had to drop the hope of losing weight for this trip. Maybe I'll lose weight on the trip though? haha.

So, last week before the trip... lots to do, and I'm excited!

It's almost July everyone!!! :yay:

Over the past 7 weeks I have lost 20 lbs!!!! Whoo hoooo! I plan to continue my diet even at the world. I am so so determined!!!!!

I have tried many many diets over my lifetime and this is honestly the easiest one I have ever done. And I feel great. I am a happy camper these days.

Busy week!!!! Holy cow!!!!! We are driving down to NYC in August with our two little ones for the first time. I cannot.wait! I HAVE to take them to the Met. DD loves her AG dolls but she NEVER plays with them!!!! I will *have* to take her to the store but I am so reluctant because I don't want to drop $$$$ on things that don't get played with. Bummer. Advice???

I am not taking insect repellent. I bought some nice FACE sunscreen today for ME. I hate that crap and this one seems nice. Oh and I bought a new product, sunscreen you can spray on wet kids. Seems like a good idea. And sunscreen lip balm...sun blisters are NASTY.

2 bathing suits each?! We would not survive. Gosh, I take 1/2 dozen for my kids and a few for Dan and I.

I make everyone wear sneakers and socks because of all the walking. I am a stickler for that. I can't stand the whining about sore feet.

I am going to have to take a water bottle strap holder thingy because of my dieting. I need a ton of water. FREAK.

protein drinks for me and lots of em in my luggage (the powder). They give me SO much energy in the morning. a must have.

And bring the 12 unders for sure!

We'll be at Bonnet Creek July 9-16! Congrats on your weight loss too!! I've lost 25 lbs in the last few months and buying new clothes was awesome. From your signature it looks like you are a hockey mom too? My DS 13 has played travel hockey since he was 5.

CONGRATS HON! Oh my gosh 25 lbs is a LOT!!!!!!!! WOW!:worship:

My DS is actually new to hockey this year but he's doing great :) He has done all kinds of training and fun leagues (like a little 3 on 3 league) so in fall he will finally start house league. It's been a ton of fun. Wow that is a ton of hockey for your little guy! Good for him!!!! Tyler showed no interest before this so we are just ecstatic :) I am putting my 6 year old DD in for the fall in the girl's league too. I hope she likes it. *crossing fingers*

Too funny....my son's name is Tyler!:thumbsup2 He loves hockey and has wanted to play since he was about 18 months old. We joke that his sisters were raised in ice rinks. I was secretly holding out that one of them would want to play but they both prefer figure skating. I just noticed that you were at Bonnet Creek in March too! We were there the week of March 27th.
