July 2011:Calling all planners-Post your dates & Resort

Hey guys, I'll be updating this in my PTR but I thought I'd post here as well since I've gotten to know some of you ladies and ... well ... it's news.

If you have not read my PTR, that's okay, I'll give you some back story:
My grammy is battling cancer, she had it once before, beat it and it came back about 3 years later. I wanted to take my grammy on a cruise, as it was a lifelong dream, but all times we've tried (3 now, one we actually had it paid for already), we had to cancel or postpone due to tests and Chemo.
With the money we were going to use for her cruise, we used to go to Europe for Spring Break. We documented EVERYTHING ... including the Mona Lisa ^_^ She loved it, it was like she was there with us :)
Well now, on this trip (again, money we would have used as her cruise), we are doing the same, as grammy has never been to WDW.

The news is this: My grammy is dying. I've known this since fall of last year, but we didn't know when. Today I just found out that they are moving my Grammy out of testing and into 'Quality of Life'.
This means they will be stopping her Chemo after 3 months ... at the latest. After Chemo is done, my grammy will not last long.

I just wanted to share this as she is my last living grandparent and has really been the only one I've grown up with.

If I may ask; please send my grammy prayers, or well wishes.

Thank you.

So sorry to hear..

Believe me, it looks homemade. It won't be mistaken for a BTG. I'll post a pic by the end of tomorow so you guys know what it looks like.

There is nothing wrong with things that are homemade :thumbsup2 I think those are the best items you can get or even look at!

I got it for the 24th

That is our AK day, but can't wait to compare pics after.

Watched Hook with my daughter (well and my son, but he was playing Angry Birds too :thumbsup2 short attention span)

That was my first date with DH:goodvibes way back in the "olden" days:lmao:

We'll, I'm here! Sadly, my husband is not. His flight was canceled due to mechanical failure. What gets me the most is that we live in DFW, their corporate HQs! He won't be here until close to noon tomorrow and is going to miss the Cape May breakfast that I scheduled just for him. I'm a little upset because I don't know where we'll be able to fit this in later in.

The new meet and greets for the princesses and Mickey and Minnie are awesome though and I've already seen several t-shirts I want. They have some shirts now for Philharmagic and I now DH will want one.

:sad2:Hoping your DH arrives soon:goodvibes

 She is in my prayers.

Aw.. sending so many prayers your way. I lost my Daddy 2 months after my girls' first trip to WDW. He put off his surgery to remove his remaining kidney bc of cancer b/c he wanted his girls to see the Mouse without worries.. Turns out, his body couldnt' handle post-op dialysis, and he never left the hospital in Sept. Last year, we went back to WDW on Father's Day, I just didn't want to be anywhere near home, and it was bittersweet. There is a sweet wishing tree outside of Y&Y in AK that my oldest DD had wished on... last year she cried when she saw it b/c her wish didn't come true. But in a way, mine did. I prayed for healing at the tree, and while the answer wasn't in the form I wanted, he's all better now. I'm not, but he is. Point being, enjoy your trip, the memories will last forever. Take some special pictures, do something to celebrate her life. Find the tree, throw a coin in a well, buy a kid a balloon, buy a picture frame, take a picture with Mickey and ask him to hold a sign that says Love You Grammy to give her, I'm sure lots of things will be bittersweet, but try your best to enjoy it!

:grouphug: That is so sad too.

Well, the universe is trying to make this trip difficult for me.

edit: never mind! I was saying ACK I THINK MY PET SITTER WENT OUT OF BUSINESS but as soon as I post that, I get through to someone!

I got my Mickey Mail!!!! YAY. under 2 weeks to go, haven't told DD7 yet, I was thinking I'd start the clues when we are 1 week away!!!!:)

Oh my.....

Well, our tickets are officially either stolen or lost in the mail. :confused3Luckily, Undercover Tourist has come up with an acceptable solution to make sure that we have valid tickets when we get to the parks. Unfortunately, this also means we have to either take copies of the tickets we bought to the ticket office at WDW and have them reissued, or (if that doesn't work) purchase new tickets from Disney. Does anyone have any idea what time the ticket offices at WDW open at the parks? Our dilemma is that our first day at the parks, DD has a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appt before the park opens, that we need a ticket to get into the park to get to! Her appt is at 8:55am, and we have to be at BBB 15 mins before that. If we have to go to the ticket office there to get new tickets/reissue our tickets, I'm just afraid we won't make it to her appt in time! Oh I will be SO glad when this ticket nightmare is OVER!! :headache:

Here's the back of the Flag.

The other side will hopefully look the same (and even better). And I will laminate it in case it rains, just to make it last 10 minutes longer lol

We are going to tell either Tuesday or Thursday, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure she suspects. I made my puzzle last night, I just need to think up clues on where to hide the pieces now :)

That looks great! Now it will be easy to find each other. Don't even talk about the 'r' word :)

I lost this in my multi-quote. Their solution, if you can't get them reissued is for you to purchase more tickets? Did I read that correctly?

I am so sorry this has happened. You might want to PM Cheshire Figment on the boards......he is an experienced CM with lots of info about tickets....perhaps if you explain the situation he would have some good advice.

Great job Christy!!! I love it!!!:yay:

Technically yes, however, they're refunding the price we paid for the tickets, and the difference between what we paid them and what we would have to pay Disney. Then we'll have the $$ in advance if we do have to re-purchase the tickets. If we don't have to, and WDW reissues the tickets we purchased through UT, they will re-charge us for the tickets. So in essence, they're trusting us to let them know so they can charge us for tickets. They won't send us another set of tickets, but this is definately the next best thing.

:hug::hug::hug::hug:. Post 13 on page one gives the procedure for replacing lost tickets. Then, I would pm him for hours.

Thanks! I'd really like to keep the appt we've scheduled if at all possible. We'll change it if we absolutely have to, but the reason I scheduled it early is so she could see the park for the first time ever with the park pretty empty.
