July 2007 Rate/Code Watch

Did i miss something? Is there a code out for July??? We are booked at the Poly 7/10-7/16 AAA pkg and my bal is due Sat. Is there something else better out there?
I haven't been here so much lately, I'd given up on the idea of getting a discount, but now can someone tell me what's up?

I will try to explain.

A non-public code has gotten out of the Disney Reservations Center.

This code everyone is talking about is only for those who have gotten upsell offers (1 in 200 callers). This code is offer a random discount for various callers to try a different and usually more expensive resort. It seems to me that Disney is going to realize in a hurry that a lot more than 1 in 200 are using such a code.

In fact, I am told, they are already aware of what is going on.. and they are trying to figure out the best way to move forward.

Obviously just calling up and giving that code over the phone is not how it is supposed to be used at all.

I'd recommend against using this - strongly.

I must say when I called today to ask about AP rates for my dates 6/4-10, she was very quick to say NO.

I then said is there any other specials going on for my time frame and she said NO.

SHe then said "any discounts on rooms or packages would be sent to you directly by email or regular mail if it's available to you".

   I need a hug.

I was absolutely clueless when I did this, but went from AKL standard view to GF theme park view for just a little $$. I did not even know what the code was. So, even thought I may not try it again (knowing know we are not really supposed to), I am glad for the upgrade!

I called just a little while ago and got the NASTIEST CRO I have ever had in the last 5 years !!!!:scared1:
I told her that we had ressies for June.... (I think she already had our info on her computer from our phone # because she gave me my info before I even said my name!!)
Anyway.... I told her that I was looking to check if any discounts may have popped up because we were posibly looking to upgrade to a deluxe. Before I even finished the sentence she SNAPPED AT ME.... "There are NO DISCOUNTS for that time of year!!" I told her that I know sometimes they show up late.... (like AP, but I didn't specifically say AP). She snapped at me again.... and I tell you.......this woman was NASTY... she said "What are looking for anyway?? There are no discounts... no passholder... NOTHING!" She practically shouted at me!
So I said to her...."So you aren't even going to look??!!"
She said "well, I will give you a quote on rack rate... but THAT'S ALL! "
I said "then give me that!"
She went on to tell me that ALL Epcot resorts had availability using AAA discount and all types of rooms available.
I told her thank you and said good bye. And yes, I did hold on to do the survey!!! Scored her "poor" on her service!!!!:headache:
Can't believe how nasty she was!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Sometimes when these 'code fiascos' happen.. the agents spend all day on the phone telling people.. "No, you can't use that code. I'm not sure how your 'bestfriend/roomate/neighbor/complete stranger on the internet/ was able to use it but it's not available to you.."

You can imagine after 8 hours of those types of calls.. someone might get frazzled. ;)

That doesn't excuse how you were treated.. but it might explain it a little.

Sounds like my phone call. Except the CM wasn't really rude just very quick answers (like they were rehearsed) and didn't even appear to be checking.

The very nature of call centres is to spend the day on the phone dealing with repetitive issues. Knox, I don't think we should try to explain poor service but rather direct people as to how they can resolve customer service issues with Disney. Also, don't you think it's time for Disney to recognize that in the age of the internet, that focused marketing campaigns cause more issues than they are worth.

Yes. On this I agree. Especially poorly managed ones. :confused3

It's the old name abbreviation : Central Reservations Office

It's now the Disney Reservation Center.

Old habits die hard. In the post above I think she meant to type CM (castmember) at CRO.

Just guessing.

Yes, you are right. ::yes::
I am still old school...... thinking CRO means Central Reservation Operator. :confused3
I also still say "Priority Seating" :rotfl2: for so many years that's what it was!1:lmao:

I got it for YC. The dates I had were June 28-July 12th. It was not available at the Polynesian during that time frame and GF only had lodge tower or RPC available with the code.

We switched from YC/Poly split to 14 nights at YC waterview room.

we are booked at the GF for July
I wish they would release something
I want a lodge tower room

I just called for reservations and the system is down until later today. Is this the way they start their promotions??

I just tried at 10:10AM, same thing. They must be overwhelmed with calls. Did anyone try the Internet site and get the same results?:confused3
