KSODA - if you have a link that goes some place that advise military folks about discounts they are eligible for - and that site explains what is needed to qualify, there would be nothing wrong with posting that because no one other than the military that qualify would have any chance of using those discounts.

That is way different than people posting discount codes that they got in emails, post cards, or as part of an upsell......

Tinkerbellwdw2007 - you probably also subscribed to the thread as soon as you posted on it. I think that's the default option in your user cp. That's why you see posts that only say something like "subscribing"

Yesterday I called and the systems were down so the cm said he would call me back and he did!! I was trying to see if I would be offered a upsell, I asked for CB and got an upsell for BC. I asked for CS and got an upsell for BC! I really wanted WL so I just asked about it and got an upsell for SS! LoL When I hung up I ran out and bought a lottery ticket, I felt like it was my LUCKY day!!!

The Shades of Green resort in WDW also caters to veterans and their families. I hear it's a beautiful resort across the street from the Polynesian. I hope this was ok to post and that it helps.

I'm pretty sure that SoG is only eligible to active-duty, retired, DoD civilians & contractors and perhaps USG civilians assigned overseas returning on TDY, as other military owned vacation properties are.

I have no idea whatsoever... but I do know that this summer they have switched over to generic mugs that are "dream" themed for YOAMD... all the resorts have them as far as I know (I have a basket being made for when we arrive and had mugs put in it)! Hope that helps!

I'm pretty sure that SoG is only eligible to active-duty, retired, DoD civilians & contractors and perhaps USG civilians assigned overseas returning on TDY, as other military owned vacation properties are.

Some exceptions to the above from the SOG website..

# Others separated from the Armed Forces and their family members- Honorably Discharged Veterans with 100% service-connected disability (and their families) and involuntarily separated service members under the Transition Assistance Management Program. Personnel separated under the Voluntary Seperation Incentive (VSI) and Special Separation Benefit (SSB) programs for two years after separation.
# Special category- Medal of Honor Recipients.
# Others associated with the Department of Defense- Former Prisoners of War (POWs) and spouses of current POWs or Service members missing in action. Unremarried surviving spouses of personnel who died while on active duty or while in retired status.

In case anyone wants to work in a Space Shuttle launch at KSC into their WDW vacation dates and you are looking for lodging in Titusville, I was informed by a desk clerk that the Holiday Inn at KSC, Titusville has or is in the middle of changing to a Clarion hotel. I had reservations I made directly with the Holiday Inn Titusville back in February for the (now rescheduled) STS118 June 28th launch and wanted to reschedule my dates when the two launch dates were rescheduled by NASA, the hotel was unable to find my reservation number (which was a Holiday Inn number) because they changed to a Clarion hotel. So, in case your searching for the Holiday Inn Titusville information, or if you have reservations, double check with the hotel, Clarion AND Holiday Inn, again, this was per the desk clerk last month.

Grest news this morning, STS117 may start its move out to the launch pad on Tuesday, May 16th, this per Fox News. Also, if planning a launch viewing, you may want to contact NASA directly because their web site launch schedule seems to have two different pages of information. You can even sign up for updated email notifications for Shuttle and rocket launches, and for nighttime ISS and satelite passes over your towns, its pretty cool.
