I don't know... if the students find out she's going to Disney... they might want to come too! :earseek: Now what kind of fun would that be??? :teeth:

BTW, Dave... we're tiling this weekend (and yes, Fran... I've decided to paint today too)! :cheer2:

Seems to me that painting could have been done while Tim was in China :rotfl2: Best of luck. Be sure to post pictures.

Dave

Sorry, some of us are too height challenged to move large bookcases that are bolted to the wall :goodvibes otherwise I would have painted while Tim was gone. Actually... many home improvement tasks have happened while Tim has been out of town  It solves the problem of being unable to decided together what color to use... only me in town...guess I get to make the decisions! :rotfl: Actually, Tim's always been very pleased with projects I've done without him (didn't ask if he was pleased with the outcome of the project, or just the fact he didn't have to do it himself... I never asked that) :earboy2:

BTW... ask Tim about times I've moved us without him being in town (moved into our new house while he was in Japan... good planning on his part). Of course there was that time in college when I moved him out of one apartment and into another while he was out of town... everything went well until he got home and we discovered I'd thrown away his wallet by accident! :confused3 Good thing he loved me enough to marry me anyway! :love2:

Well, enough stalling (Riley and Conner are painting right now) :earseek:

Fran doesn't have to tell them where she is going, just Far far away. Sometimes we don't even tell the employees. We have a cell phone.

Well it is back to work on the house we have another deadline. Now it is time to tackle the bathroom and Ron has decided he wants the other bathroom painted At least it is the same color unless I decide to get creative. :cool1: :cool1:

Hope everyone had a good Labor Day!

I don't know...maybe I'm old fashioned, but I just don't feel right having pictures of our toilet on the net...

Wendy does a great job tiling! She's been offered work a couple of different times, but I don't think she'd be able to walk if she took them up on it. I like her to be able to walk...

Funny story.........(Hi Disboard lurker)
I was at Dland yesterday with my daughter, making VMK charactors and doing a little pin trading, and as we were leaving I was asked by a gentleman walking behind me, if we had been on a Disney cruise. I said yes, and he asked if we were on the 4th of July one. Shocked, I said yes, and he said he was too and remembered us. Now that is an impressive memory if you ask me, or maybe I just have a very limited memory. He followed our posts and saw us all wearing our green on our bon voyage party, but just lurked. I told him he should have joined in our planning fun. He commented on his previous Disney cruises and the differences between West coast and the regular Florida cruises (which he prefers). He rebooked for Thanksgiving on the double castaway trip (sooo jealous)
So it was a funny encounter, I just thought I'd share with you all. He was there pin trading, and I'm embarrased to say I never even asked his name...how rude, huh? Anyway....Mr. Lurker if you read this, sign on and say hi to the group!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Howdy everyone!

Since the thread needs a bump and for the sake of conversation............
We got the "10" speech - close relative of the "excellent" speech :goodvibes Alan traded his two seater car for a four seater. We had to fill out a survey - fewer questions than on the ship of course. It made me smile - everytime the salesman said "10" I thought of our server and "excellent". How many of you bumped up your response to "excellent" to everything out of a kind of guilt even if it wasn't quite excellent? There were a couple of minor comments I thought of making but since they were minor decided not to so someone wouldn't get fired or demoted or whatever. I'm glad DCL appears to listen to what we have to say, however there seems to be fear/concern over not receiving an excellent. Obviously you wouldn't want anyone giving poor service, but what if they just need a little tweaking? A little constructive criticism?

I haven't been on for quite awhile so I've been sitting here a long time reading threads! I've skipped quite a few! I think I stayed away from the computer for awhile so I wouldn't get sucked in - like tonight!

Have a great tomorrow everyone!
Sherry

Sherry,
I am guilty of exactly what you have posted... Filling out the survey did not take me to long because I felt if I did not fill in excellent our server might pay the price. (if ya know what I mean) I was reminded all week that the service that we were getting was "excellent". If I were to tell the truth I would have rated the servers the worst we have ever had on a Disney Cruise. Mind you it was nothing terrible, just not as good as the other two cruises I have been on. I wonder if the "excellent" speech is something new? We have never had it before and I don't think you and I had the same waiters, so I was thinking maybe this is something new they are told to do.

Anyway it is great hearing from you, is it still really hot in AZ? We have finally gotten cooler weather today and a little rain which was really needed.

Angie

HEY! Remember me? I'm sorry I have been MIA... I have missed you all... I have not been on here or checking my messages, so, if you need me, please email me directly, ok?

Oh No! I found us on page 3!

Hey Ron - how'd your last tournament turn out?

I ordered new checks - some Mickey ones. They come with a "free" page of address labels - they had a Mickey option. Too bad they don't offer the Disney Font too!! I don't really write many checks anymore (who does?). I may start though, just so I can use them. Oh, the little joys in life :goodvibes

Sherry

Just a quick hello to everyone.......

Sherry...I do not write checks anymore either except for Steven's lunches. Everything else goes on Disney Visa and all bills are paid online.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Dave

page 3..........thats just wrong!
I just recently ordered new checks and they had a new design called "photo" checks. You can download a photo that they print onto the middle of your check. I was torn on picking a photo, and decided against a cute family photo, since whomever see's it will know exactly where my cute kids live and our phone number...so that was a safety issue. Then I tried to put a picture of the magic while in cabo, but they were all too big to fit (its like a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 " square in the middle of the check). So I finally opted for a very special picture I took in Yosemite last year. I also entered this picture in our local fair and got an honorable mention and an offer to purchase it from a stranger! I can't wait to get them, even though, like you guys, I really don't write very many checks anymore due to online stuff.
Have a great day.
Jill
