I nominate Fran and Dave to start the "Live from" thread because they were the first to get their docs and they aren't here to contest it!!
The weather here is great, they should be having a wonderful, but crowded, time at DL. Most of our June gloom is over so the cold weather shouldn't be a problem on the cruise. Maybe a little cold at night. Lets hope that is the case.
I got the Margaritas yesterday. Who'd have known that they have it all mixed up already and all we have to do is dip our glass in the salt if you want, add ice and pour!! I decided against 1 gallon and got 2 !! Ole. Amy

I noticed on the noontime news today that there was a messy accident on the grapevine today (a section of I-5 between Bakersfield and LA for those unfamiliar with the area). A big rig rolled and a huge fire from the accident closed the freeway for what was expected to be several hours - the fire was too hot to attempt to put out at that time. I'm happy that none of us were driving down today, but having something like this happen is my DH's big fear about driving down. He's nervous that we will get stuck behind an accident and miss the boat (that's why we are driving all the way down the day before). He even suggested today that we leave tomorrow afternoon to drive down. I reminded him that not only is one son is riding down Friday evening with needalatte, but our house/dog sitter is not coming over until Friday, AND... most importantly, I still haven't packed yet! I guess I should be doing that now instead of posting... So, bye for now!

WooHoo! My DH and DS are heading for the hills and fishing, so now I can concentrate on the girls!

I had our Stitch door decoration laminated today, and it looks great. Now I've got a little laundry and a lot of house cleaning to do. The dog is only going to be alone for one night, but my neighbor is going to be in the house to check on him, and put him to bed. Did I mention she's my wonderful neighbor with the house that is always perfectly clean? Oh well, our dog is worth it And it saves him from being freaked out at the vet. So I guess I'll be cleaning tomorrow.

About the grapevine...I think it's wise to get as close to San Pedro as you can! My family always vacationed at Bass Lake when I was growing up with the grapevine being our families personal nemesis. Good luck and we'll be keeping a look out for you!

Judalyne--is that Bass Lake as in Oakhurst/Yosemite area? I'm a Fresno girl myself, although I seldom admit it. I've had my share of Saturday afternoons at Bass Lake. Memories...

Going on the Halloween cruise...it will be my first DCL!
There are actually a couple of Betsys on the DIS...i use to hate the name...now, I love! Fran and Dave are MUCHO fun and she is my favorite sister (lol..don't tell the other sister!)

Wendy, We are staying at the Hyatt Regency Orange County after the cruise for two nights.

Betsy, we will look for you Friday eve or Sat morning. Based what happen on H5-grapevine today, we may be leaving the hotel early Sat morning and find a place to eat breakfast after we have travelled some.
I am a Warrior fan myself,(yes I do admit it - believe they did well in the draft). Look for my son on the cruise, he will have his KINGS jersey on one day. You really made me laugh with your list - great job!

Hello all

Still haven't packed. I did do some more laundry and I did start making clothing piles though.

I did make a door sign - just on regular paper. I have some of those plastic page protectors so I'll use that if I don't get it laminated.

I also did a little work on something for Pirate night and got a handle (I think) on the gift bags.

Got DS's hair cuts.

Then I did something quite productive as far as getting ready for the trip - I went out with girlfriends to dinner and a movie There were 10 of us and we were celebrating 2 birthdays. We saw A Perfect Man. I enjoyed it a lot. I came straight home afterwards!

Today is the day!!!
The packing has begun at my house and can I add that I don't consider this a very fun job....
Going for pedicure today and haircut tomorrow.
I still have to get bags for the raffle gifts.
But, the really good news is .... the pirate costumes are done. They are nothing fancy, just I am really slow...it took me forever.
Amy: can't wait to get my lips on one of those margarita's.

Yes, it is. My family used to water ski there for 2 weeks every summer. Beautiful place

Maybe that is why my rooms are listed as noisy rooms!!! The Promande Lounge is close just in case the kids need to sleep! We are within 48 hours of chasing kids around the terminal!!

Ron and I are still around... I fly out of Phoenix tomorrow (Friday) while Ron makes his journey from Las Vegas. I am greatly looking forward to a week of no driving and no cell phones! Is there anyone else on the board who is traveling tomorrow or Saturday? We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Darcy, I thought the agreemnet was we were running AWAY from our kids once we hit the terminal? Now I'm all confused. LOL
At first I was concerned that we had a rooms on the "noisy" list but then I realized that most of the noise would be coming from inside our cabins and not outside. My apologies now to anyone that is within earshot of our rooms. (which would be any of the first 4 floors ) Just remember how noisy it must be on the OTHER side of the door and say a small prayer for me and my sanity!! Just the thought of it makes me want to book another spa appointment. I've got all the kids packed but have large pile of clothes all over my bedroom that I've got to somehow fit into a couple of suitcases. Wish me luck. I haven't figured out how to get my 2 jugs of Margaritas on board. Would it look tacky if I put them in the bottom of the baby stroller?? Amy

We fly out from Phoenix Saturday morning and then have a shuttle scheduled to take us to the terminal. If everything goes as I have planned, should be at the port no later than 10:30. But we will see. Not concerned about the flight to LAX as that is Southwest and never had a problem with them.
