Welcome Sitchu2! If you check back on page 28, there is a list of us there. In fact, the post directly above that one has a link to Lisa's email address. I'm sure if you asked nicely, she would add you to the list. :thumbsup2 Lisa has been great managing the list for us! Thanks Lisa!

We got through honors night last night. It was good, even if we had to sit on the bleachers. Sara got 3 awards, so all in all, it was a great night.

It's hot again here today. Ok, I'm getting tired of summer already. :lmao: I know, I know. It's just starting. I don't see turning off the AC anytime soon.

Time of the bus to leave for school!

Patti

Patti- I love it when you say nice things about me!! :rotfl:
And tell Jess, Alexa gets her braces off 1 week before the cruise and the retainter 1 day before the cruise!!! Not sure how we'll manage that during that week but we will! I need like 1 week off BEFORE my vacation to get ready and then another week off AFTER to recover from my depression!

Alexa is only doing parasailing on CC, we didn't sign up for anything else.......except of course floats, that we'll be lounging on all day!! :goodvibes

Welcome to all the new posters and yes I will add you to the list if you want, just email me!! :woohoo:

I see that we have a Janet Evanovich fan sailing with us. I will probably be done with her new book by the time we sail, but if you see a person reading a book and chuckling dopily (and possibly a loud guffaw), please smile and move on--it's just me reading it again. :rotfl2:

Hi Sitchu2 -
We should get our daughters together - I think I saw another dd on the list that is turning 11 on the cruise. It would be nice to have someone they can look forward to meeting. Abby is so much wanting to hang out with some friends and be a little independent.

We were on the Wonder 3 years ago so we are really looking forward to a Magic cruise.

What excursions is everyone doing? We're doing the Tulum ruins in Cozumel, booked with Nativeway to do the stingrays and snorkeling and Rum point in Cayman and then I talked everyone into parasailing at CC.

No much longer.......
Georgianne

Hi Georgianne-

We are just going to wonder Key West on our own. Probably hop on and off the trolly. We're doing Captain Marvins swim w/ the stingrays at Cayman and I have no idea on Cozumel! Trying to find out what shape the beaches are in nowadays! :confused3

Alexa (DD) and Jim (DH) are parasailing w/ a couple of my sisters on CC but no way are you getting me up there!!

Yep, I will admit it, I am the Janet Evanovich fan! :cheer2: I have read everything she's written. The Stephanie series is great! My dh reads them too. I also like the car series, being a NASCAR fan, and the Full Tilt series. :lmao: I will buy the new book on the 20th when it comes out, but it will go straight in my carry on bag, not to be touched until we at least get to the airport! In fact, Sara has her first band practice that night, so I will pick it up after I drop her off.

Excursions, hmmm, can I remember that far back? :rotfl: Here goes. Key West we are doing on our own. Grand Cayman we are swimming w/stingrays, Cozumel we are doing a Jeep tour, and Castaway dh and I are doing Eco Tour, and the girls are doing Banana Boat and parasailing.

Wow, 36 days, and I only have 22 work days left! Is that pathetic, or what? :teeth:

Love Janet. A few years back she did a book signing at the local Mall. The lines--my goodness. All us women had bought the book and were sitting on the floor reading it and shuffling along the line until our turn came. It looked like a giant slumber party. Poor Janet had a brace on her hand from signing. I got a picture too!! Her dd was with her handing out stickers. I was star struck. Great thing was that Cheesecake Factory cheesecake was handed out while we were waiting. I keep saying I'm going to the next party in Trenton, but I never make it.

We're doing Key West on our own. I would rather stay on the boat, but dh wants a picture next to the southernmost point buoy thing. I made him swear that I can go right back to the boat after that. The 14 of us are doing the stingrays at GC (9:15 slot). All of us are booked for the Dolphin excursion for 12:00. We're still debating on whether we should bring our own snorkel gear. Definitely snorkeling at cc. I want to get more than one use out of it if we're going to schlepp it.

just visited cozumel last month. we tendered, the docks were crumbeled. the beach was very shallow, and the water was full of coral making it hard to get out to the soft sandy parts. Thats why im thinking to do a snorkel.

My dd caitlyn is the dcl expert and she will be happy to share her experience with all other pirates to be in her group.

i didnt read all the posts but did you guys realize pirates of the caribean 2 will be released while we are at sea. they are sure to show it 1201am on the night of the sixth of july!!!

LOVE pirates. We took ds5 to see it in the movies at a late showing (in case it was too scary, we knew he'd fall asleep). He sat through 1/2 and then conked out. The next day he asked to see it again. DH and I love movies so I'm guessing we'll be at the 12:01 movie like nuts that we are.

DS5 birthday is in August and he wants a POC party. Lucky for him they just came out with a whole line of paper goods and pinata. Just saw Over the Hedge today. Cute, but nothing comes close to the Beauty and the Beast measuring stick that I have.

Ahhhhhh I love Beauty and the Beast also!!!
Lion King is a close second!

Have a SAFE memorial weekend everyone! :sunny:

I was planning to ship a medium sized box of our snorkel gear and maybe some snacks and things (licorice and things for the movies and excursions). Now that the beaches in Cozumel aren't so great I wonder if it's worth it.

Our poor July 1st link keeps getting buried.

Is everybody ready to pack? I feel like I'm at the starting gate ready to run. Just say the word and I'll pack....

Finally some beautiful weather here in NJ. I think it was about 85 today. Whole family enjoyed a bbq and a nice swim in our pool. Tomorrow the friends come over since they were busy today.

You forget how hot the sun is when you haven't seen it in forever. They opened up a Christmas Tree Shops in Staten Island and they had Banana Boat for $2.99 a bottle.

Hi Everyone!

I've missed a few days of posts - my youngest dd (14) and I just got back from a weekend at WDW. I did a weekend away (3 day DCL) last year with oldest dd (16).....in any case, Florida was VERY HOT and MUGGY! Having gone from temps in the 60's in Mass. down to those temps was a shocker! We did come home to warm weather.

I'm a bit out of the loop on the "green name tag"??? Are we supposed to be making something so that we recognize others? Also, from what I've been reading on these posts, it sounds like there's a pirates night - is that a dinner? Does it replace something else? Pirates of the Caribbean souvenirs were everywhere at WDW....nothing that really appealed to me.....was looking for a shirt for all of us but I didn't like any of them.

We went on a 7 day cruise a few years ago and there was a launch - we didn't find any problems with traffic, the cruise was just held up 30 minutes leaving port.

As for excursions, I can't remember off hand what we booked but I think the girls decided to spend the day at CC at the teen beach and just hang out with the other kids, I don't think they booked anything there. One minute they'll tell you to book something, the next they change their mind - teen hormones!!!

Sheila

Pirate night is replacing (sort of) tropical night. We're going with the Pirate theme. They have nice gauzy type shirts in Old Navy for the ladies and add a peasant skirt--voila, you're done.

We're still going tropical! :Pinkbounc
I won't spend money on stuff I won't ever wear again and there will be lots of tropical attire as well as pirates! Should be fun! :thumbsup2

Gee I'm glad to hear you say that, 'cause I personally am having problems with the whole pirate thing. Tropical I can do, but pirates.........just not me. :sad2: Found an adorable skirt and top with Melissa at Macy's in NYC on Saturday though: very colorful, and she WILL wear it again, so I don't mind it too much. (In fact, she wants to wear it to the POC movie opening night...which I believe is different night from the "official" Pirate Night, so maybe two uses in one trip?? ;) ) Me, I am just thinking that I will be a "tropical" pirate, and go with a nice white skirt and colorful top. pirate: Just gotta find the top.......

Finally some warm weather here!! :sunny: Hot actually, which I really don't mind. NYC had lovely weather on Saturday when we were there, and Sunday and today here in MD were sunny and warm. Some of the nicest Memorial Day weekend weather I can remember. So, it finally got me in the shopping mood, :goodvibes and Lo and Behold, Kohls was havin' one heckuva sale this morning.......with those great Kohls dollars!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Oh, I did have fun! This afternoon, we went to the pool, and had a nice BBQ........and now, I too am ready to start packing! :moped:

Of course, DD needs tons of clothes yet, and hopefully, after Thursday when her finals are over, we can get her shopping done. DH is pretty much done, and now, thanks to Kohls, so am I.

Speaking of Melissa, she would like to e-mail with any of your kids that are interested before the trip: I know she "spoke" with Alexa a while back, but we are excited to see so many teen girls on this cruise! :cheer2: Once she is done with school this week, FINALLY she should have some "free" time to chat! If your kids are interested, just send me a PM.

OK, for us, next month at this time, we'll be in Disney!!!! :yay:

I think Melissa should have Alexa's email address so let me know is she doesn't!
She is super busy until June 10th, after that she'll just have her job but this week and next, ALOT going on!

I'm soooooo ready to pack! :goodvibes

We are just going tropical as well. I'm with Lisa, if I can't (or won't) wear it again, I'm not buying it.

Nancy, I'll send you a PM with the girls email addresses. All of our weekly activity seems to be condensed into today and tomorrow. Sara gets her braces off tomorrow and she is SO excited! That's all she talked about over the weekend. :rotfl:

I started bringing all of my stuff out of the basement to take a look at what we have to pack. Holy Cow! I think that snorkeling stuff is going to take up more room than I had planned. I think I can stick it in the girls bags. :confused3 I'll spread everything out on the couch in the family room until I'm ready to pack. I brought some of the clothes back from my mom's on Sunday, so that leaves about half there yet. Where are all of those going to go??? My MIL was laughing when she saw them all! :lmao:

I can't believe that June 1st is 2 days away!!! We'll be down to 29 days at that point! :faint: I did get Jess's second swimsuit yesterday. For those of you who have never shopped for swimsuits with a teenager, you are missing an experience! :lmao:

I better get back to work. Friday is the last time I have to do end of month billing before we go! Of course, I have to sit and watch my boss do it on Friday so he will hopefully remember how to do it next month. He won't, so it's a good thing he doesn't have a way to get a hold of me! :rolleyes1 He will have me here forever because he is so SLOW!! I told him anything I work over my normal Friday 6 hours, I'm taking off the Monday of the week I leave. Monday is the only day I'm working that week! It takes me about 10-12 hours to run billing, so I may not be working that day at all! :woohoo:

Patti

Nancy - I will also send you a PM with the girls e-mail info.

Patti - I've had and continue to have the "teen bathing suit experiences". For some reason, I think some of the suits are small, but my DD's think they're just right :) My oldest went shopping with her friends over the weekend while my youngest and I were at WDW - she bought a bathing suit -it looks good in the bag but we'll see what it looks like on!!!

I think I'll be on the tropical side of things - I can't find anything "pirate" like that I'd wear and like others, I'd probably never wear it again so why spend the money.

Sheila

Sheila - LOL on the teen swimsuits! Some Jess had on she loved, but for me :scared1: The thought of others seeing her in them....I don't think so! :furious: She is 13 going on 30. Her taste is a little on the wild side. If it sparkles, she wants it. :rotfl2:
