I will be at a conference at the Anaheim Marriott on July 19-22. I'm super excited because it is my first time near DL! I'm also concerned that it is such a big weekend!

What is the best plan for conquering during the crowds? I will have all afternoon/evening on Sunday, just evening on Monday. Wait until Monday? Fight the crowds Sunday?

Thank you for your advice!!

If you have the time, try to go to the park both days. Both parks should be open until midnight, although DCA may close at 10 or 11, but I doubt that. It will be busy, but may not be terrible. You might be able to see if you qualify for convention tickets to the park, which would save you some money.

I can get twilight tickets which are $60 after 4pm. My coworker can get military tickets, which look to be $80/2 days.

Thanks!

Even with the busy crowds I would go both days, but then I would go for an hour if I had the chance lol. You can at least do a couple things the first afternoon/eve that are on your must see list instead of trying to fit them all in with just the one day. I think just knowing that it's going to be busy helps, then you aren't shocked and disappointed when you get there. We did Thanksgiving week a couple years ago and people had reported max capacity type crowds on thanksgiving in previous years and we didn't think it was all that bad. I think being prepared is half the battle!

We'll be there on the 20th. I heard through this same forum that that Saturday may not be as busy as we're anticipating/fearing. I asked the same question as you. We will arrive in Anaheim on the night of the 19th with time to let the kids settle in, swim at the hotel, and rest. Then we'll be in southern Cali from the 20th to the 25th with 3 days at Disney and 2 days to sight-see. Based on what people have told me on this forum, that Saturday the 20th is blocked out for annual passholders, so it might not be too busy for folks like us. I think it might be a good day to go. :)

I'm going Sunday, the 19th... I'm going to try it! This is very unexpected and I have zero knowledge about must-dos at DL. I'm a DW girl through and through. Time to research!
