July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

Thanks for sharing. I can never get that web site to load up.:confused3

Time to get my DD out of bed. It is about 1:30 PM. She is sleeping in my bedroom and I need to get in there and do vacation stuff.

Finally got the Ket West picture up and it's raining. I can barley see the ship through the rain.

Ouch! :surfweb: What time do you arrive?
We arrive to MCO at 9:45am then taking the DCL bus. so wish we rented a car so I could do a beer and water run first. but we are traveling with my parents and brothers family.

Sounds like us on Friday. We have a 7:20 AM flight. I don't know what I was thinking? It sounded like a good idea at the time. At least we shouldn't have that crazy ride to the airport during rush hour traffic. And hopefully it will be a quiet flight.:cloud9:
our flight is sold out. I'm hopng it will be quiet

St. Thomas is considered US Domestic coverage if you have a National plan with AT&T.

We have this plan so we should be ok

I'm on my itouch so if this reply is messed up it's because I can't see all my quotes!

This happens to me when I try on a single t-shirt. I hate clothes shopping, and opt instead for the Marcy-picked-it-out-and-I'll-try-it-on-at-home-later method. :)

DH and I have misplaced our Tortola shirts...:scared1::sad2::sad1: I've been through everything and can't find them. The kids have theirs, but we can't find ours. Found the empty cafe press box in the garage...

Best wishes on the hunt for the shirts. Did you pack them already?

I'm amazed at some of the other threads. One is up to Part 24!:scared1:

And I'm glad we decided not to go the week of July 25th, there still is hardly any movement on that thread.

Anyone out there know how to flip images and text on the computer so you can make t-shirt transfers? I am all ready to print out the transfers for the kids' pillow cases but can't figure out how to flip the image!

OK so packing is done except for packing the cooler and refrigerated meds which we will do tomorrow before we leave. I'll be up by 5:50 tomorrow morning off to work home by 5 quickly change clothes and then leave. Mom and Matt will pick up the rental car and load it while I'm at work. We should be at WDW by 7 am Tuesday morning check in pray for a villa and then quickly unpack and hit the MK. I'm ready to go. I'll probable be on tomorrow night we've got a Verizon card that works pretty much everywhere.

Simple way is to open in Paint. Goto Image --> Flip/Rotate -- then select flip horizontal.

That's from DH, he posted and ran - if you need more, I'm clueless. He uses photoshop for all of ours... He'll be back later.

Before you print...

1. click on properties
2. mirror image - ON
3. print

That is how it works on ours... an HP printer.

Woot! You are all the best. We have been messing around trying to get this to work...Thankyou for the help...now to see if I can do it :banana:

I have another question.
Our children have never been to WDW...but have been to DLR many times. We have only 3 days there.....we were planning on spending one of those days at Typhoon Lagoon...should we plan on spending an entire day there? Or spend part of it at the Animal Park? And on a similar note, is the animal park worth an entire day?

We've done both SEVERAL times... they can probably be combined. It is personal opinion, and I'm sure you will get several "expert" opinions. I would look at the WDW website, look at each park and see what activities your family will enjoy.

Typhoon Lagoon - wave pool, snorkeling and slides
Animal Kingdom - Everest, Kali River Rapids and GREAT shows!!

Have a great time... we spent a week at WDW in March, so will just be enjoying DTD after the cruise!!

We've never been to Typhoon but we love AK. if you get there early and maybe see only 1 show and hit the rides you want you could be done in a 1/2 day.

This is definitely a personal preference, so you should adjust accordingly (and take my opinions with a huge grain of salt), but coming from a resident who's been going to all the parks for years here's my two cents:

I'm a huge fan of Typhoon Lagoon. I don't know how your tickets are set up, and what you can do, and what you have to pay for, but we go there all the time and can tell you that it's best first thing in the morning (they usually open around 9 in the summer, I believe, and sometimes there's Magic Hours that allow resort visitors to go in an hour earlier than everyone else) until about 1:00ish or so when the crowds come in. At this point it's usually a good time to take a break, get indoors for a bit, grab some lunch, then rest and/or explore (maybe Downtown Disney if your tickets don't cover all the parks, or Animal Kingdom if they do). Then, in the evening, the crowds thin out and we head back for a second round up through when it gets dark (which is pretty awesome in its own right).

I will say that I'm a much bigger fan of Blizzard Beach, and find it more aesthetically appealing, and what I think are the better slides and lazy river, but I know just as many people who would disagree so I'd just go with what you think sounds like fun.

As for Animal Kingdom, I've never been too enamored by it. I've never spent more than half a day there, even on my first visit. The zoo portion isn't executed as well as Busch Gardens in Tampa (in my humble opinion), and apart from a few really good rides and shows (Everest comes to mind), doesn't have much that holds my attention. That's not to say you wouldn't enjoy it, because it IS fun, especially for the first timer, but it's my least favorite of the parks, and I can easily recommend any of the other three parks before it.

I hope this helps! My wife is likely to throw in her two cents, too, if you want it. And, again, it's definitely a personal preference coming from someone who's beaten all the parks to death, and so someone who doesn't go as often will probably be able to offer better insight. However, I definitely don't think you can go wrong with (at minimum) the water parks, because they're an absolute blast for everyone in the family. If you have the gumption to hit AK while you're at it, then all the better, but the water parks will probably do you in pretty good. :)

Yep, although we did buy him two -- yes two! -- sports jackets that he actually seemed to like today. :worship:

Okay - since we've lost all our magnets and are trying to recreate as many as possible....

Does anyone remember the post on the main board that had a list of names that were available with fun Disney characters????? I've searched, but I can't find it!!!!

Here's the magnet board:

If you need help personalizing, let me know. I did about 10 magnets in 20 minutes the other day. I just use the DIS igners' blanks and personalize them.

:lmao: We do that here too, although it's the I hate clothes shopping, and opt instead for the John -picked-it-out-and-I'll-try-it-on-at-home-later method. :)

Greg ended up with 2 new shirts last night using that method.

I have another question.

I, personally, do not like Animal Kingdom in the summer. It's too crowded and too hot and I don't enjoy it. The water parks, on the other hand, are my favorite thing to do all summer long. But that's just me.

If you're staying at a Disney resort (or an on-property resort like the Hilton), there are days to get into the water parks an hour early. That is my favorite thing to do because that early hour in the water parks is pretty empty and lets you get in SOOOOOO many rides before anyone else enters the park and while the weather is still cool-ish. We like to stay a night at the Hilton at WDW just so we can do the water parks for two days and take advantage of the early entry. Then we go back to the hotel at 1-ish and hang in the executive lounge, eat cookies and wait for the people in the parks to tire out before we head back.

And i know that everyone knows this, but please be careful this time of year and wear and reapply sunscreen! It's been overcast but hot here this week, and we're seeing a lot of very red people who think they don't need sunscreen when it's overcast. As a kid, I ended up with sun poisoning one vacation in FL, and I had to stay indoors for a full 10 days. Don't ruin your vacation by underapplying sunscreen! :hippie:

I'm off to attempt to make my FE now. Wish me luck -- I don't sew!!!
