July 18 Tortola cruise part 3

Here's the magnet board:

If you need help personalizing, let me know. I did about 10 magnets in 20 minutes the other day. I just use the DIS igners' blanks and personalize them.

I, personally, do not like Animal Kingdom in the summer. It's too crowded and too hot and I don't enjoy it. The water parks, on the other hand, are my favorite thing to do all summer long. But that's just me.

If you're staying at a Disney resort (or an on-property resort like the Hilton), there are days to get into the water parks an hour early. That is my favorite thing to do because that early hour in the water parks is pretty empty and lets you get in SOOOOOO many rides before anyone else enters the park and while the weather is still cool-ish. We like to stay a night at the Hilton at WDW just so we can do the water parks for two days and take advantage of the early entry. Then we go back to the hotel at 1-ish and hang in the executive lounge, eat cookies and wait for the people in the parks to tire out before we head back.

And i know that everyone knows this, but please be careful this time of year and wear and reapply sunscreen! It's been overcast but hot here this week, and we're seeing a lot of very red people who think they don't need sunscreen when it's overcast. As a kid, I ended up with sun poisoning one vacation in FL, and I had to stay indoors for a full 10 days. Don't ruin your vacation by underapplying sunscreen! :hippie:

I'm off to attempt to make my FE now. Wish me luck -- I don't sew!!!

Thanks! DH managed to take couple blanks and customize - hopefully it won't look too plagerized! :guilty:

As for Animal Kingdom - we are skipping it this time around. We only have three days and will spend one in the MK, one at Epcot, and one at the Studios (we have two HSM fans). We went last year and the main thing that I remember is my oldest daughter (then 6) looking at me and saying - in the loudest voice possible - as we walked into the Africa section, "Mommy, this doesn't look like Africa at all!!!!" :scared1: We got some very strange looks from others who thought it was pretty authentic.

My favorite park in the summer is Epcot.
It is nicely spread out and does not feel crowded to me. When it is hot I hate going to AK.

I think we are going to MK and Epcot while we are there.

We do not like Animal kingdom in the summer at all. To me it is the hottest park during this time due to all the plants and everything. That being said if you have never seen it there are a few rides and especially the Lion King show that are really good. Never been to Typhoon Lagoon but we do love Blizzard beach. Our favorite park is Epcot with MK being a very close second. That is where we will spend the majority of time.

Just finished a yummy diner of a low country boil. shrimp, crab, potato and corn everything but the sausage.

I definitely agree, though Epcot's my favorite regardless of time of year. :)

The great thing about Epcot is that it doesn't matter how crowded it is. There's always things to do and see when the lines for the rides are really long. You can walk around the World Showcase and just take in the sites, or go into any of the buildings for some cool interactive stuff... There's a lot of stuff to see and take in when you just don't want to wait in lines, anymore.

Also, I like drinking the nasty colas from around the world in the Coke place. It was much cooler when it had the ice tunnel, but it's still a lot of fun, and the wait is never very long because the tourists usually end up gagging after their first drink, and leaving immediately afterward. :)

And, on top of all that, Epcot always has the cool festivals like the Food and Wine Festival, or the Christmas/Holidays display, or the Flower and Garden Festival. There's always something cool and different going on there.

My DF is also leaving around 4:30 on Saturday morning to join us for breakfast and then boarding..... and her DH is taking us from the hotel to the terminal....

DD just tried on her formal dress (yes, it was pink) - hmmm... she has grown at least 2 inches... now dress is too short.... drat!

DD is now the proud owner of a beautiful blue Jessica McClintock long dress, orginally $175.00, marked down to $70.00 and today is was take 50% off the lowest price.... now to figure our how to get it into the suitcase with the minimal of damage

Wear it on the plane???

We decided not to take our hanging clothes bag since Matt is renting a tux. This me and mom and my dresses are packed semi folded in the suitcases and so are Matt's other dress clothes and sports coat. Thank goodness DCL does press clothes because I can imagine just how wrinkled these things are going to be.

We did manage to keep it to 6 pieces of luggage two of those are taken up with FE gifts so empty space coming home.

Despite having a couple of nice new sports coats (or so I'm told, I wouldn't know fashion if it bit me and said, "Hey! I'm fashion!"), I always feel awkward in suits and jackets and various clothingstuffs. One of the great things about living in Florida is that I can literally wear shorts and a t-shirt 365 days a year. I'm not kidding... I went a year and a half wearing that ensemble before Marcy's work retreat forced me to wear stupid pants and a button up.

In preparation for a teaching position, I'm trying to upgrade my look a bit... My wife says it's time I act within ten years of my age, so I'm trying to get used to a button up and pants, but it's tough.

Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah. I'm not liking having to get dressed up for dinner.

Thats, like, 18 ways to smoking hot! :)

Umm.. the dress or the model wearing the dress????? LOL!

(I took the picture from the Jessica McClintock online catalog)

the dress is beautiful though and the price was very right!

Ok, the packing pressure is kicking in...........:cool1:

We were supposed to do a bunch of packing today, but it just never came together. I think it's going to be a week-long slow burn sort of thing. Marcy will take command and control, and then give me orders in short bursts that I won't forget. It should work in theory, and gives her a little extra time to work on the FE this evening. :) Besides, we're all suffering burnout after floods, dirty laundry mountains, and remodeling/cleaning/decorating. I'm going to need a vacation from getting ready for vacation. :)

Hey if it was up to me you could wear anything you wanted!!:goodvibes

The dress. It looks fantastic... Something like that in our household would be covered with food stains be the end of the night, so it's best to keep our wardrobe in the hot water/heavy wash category. :)
