July 18 2009 Tortola - Part 2!

We are going to the home of my DH's parents for the weekend of the 4th. They are having a big 50th anniversary celebration on the 3rd. and lucky us, we will be sharing the 2 bathroom house with the in laws and DH's brother with His 4 kids. SO yep 14 people and 2 bathrooms

I'm sorry I asked..................

but congrats on the 50th..........my parents had theirs last year and we celebrated on July 12th (I refer to them as The Rents and they'll be on the ship with us!)

I hope that she's not going to UCF. Finishing anything there in three years would be some sort of miracle! I've been going for something like six years, now, and I didn't get to take a single class this summer because they simply didn't offer anything.

She goes to UofM......its a DPT program and it's all planned out.......she started in May and knows her program for the next three years.

Ok, I plan to start packing immediately after the 4th.........I have my hair appointments made, etc.......thx to Jenny for the packing list......(now I have to remember to bring the name tags and markers.....)

Studio Sea Meet on Sunday, July 19th at 12:15pm (I'll bring name tags and markers so we can identify ourselves) Optional grab bag swap for about $20 from our hometowns (or whatever we want to bring Disney themed).....informal meet on Deck 10 Sailaway and various other mini-meets in the parks and at the port prior to sailing......see page 1 for details.......

My middle DD will be home tomorrow for the weekend, so we're really excited to see her..........ALL of us are..........it's amazing how one kid can keep the rest of us together........who knew how special she is, until she decided to study in FL..........(for 3 years)..........

We need to hear more 4th plans..........keep em coming!!!!

There is a thread on the budget board about mosquito repellent. Someone said they use Listerine in a small spray bottle and it works for hours. This may be good to bring for Tortola if there are really as many mosquitos as they say.

I've been up since 4:00 am. We had another thunderstorm and the dog was shaking and went under the covers. Needless to say I couldn't go back to sleep.

I don't remember Tortola being buggy at all, but it's been 15 years since I've been there.

DH - (Getting wisdom tooth pulled today) whine, sleep, criticize by painting, whine, sleep
DD - Paint (laser beam yellow) family room, Pack
DDog - sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, sleep

Will be at the beach for the 4th. My niece was born on the 4th so every year we celebrate her birthday. Luckily, they live on the coast so we can enjoy a beach day.

Hey! Your dog has the same schedule as my DH!!!!

Just kidding! Leaving tomorrow for Cincinnati to see Reds and Cardinals. Saturday another Reds game in the afternoon, then off to "tailgate" and watch the fireworks at Indian Hill HS in Cincinnati. Sunday King's Island Amusement Park while DH goes to ANOTHER Reds game. I guess you could say we will be busy!

Shirley (Dizzyworld) took pictures of our cruise meet on our last cruise (I think they are posted here somewhere) and I love looking back at them. We had a blast, and really got to know a few people. In fact, part of the reason for choosing this sailing, besides Tortola, was Dizzy's DD and my DD had so much fun together, adn kept in touch with each other afterwards. They also met anouther girl - DD was trying to convince her to go on this oen too for a reunion!!

I think it will be even more fun this time because last cruise was a 4 day douple dip which left VERY little on board time. It was my biggest complaint. So this time, i am taking full advantage of ship time!!

Worked on the FE gifts last night. SO we are now at close off right? Noahsmom - is the front page list updated and correct now?

How many are doing the gift basket? I am deciding.

Our last cruise was a double-dip too! We are really looking forward to just shiptime this cruise.

Still working on those FEs! Got a lot of work to do. Wish DD2 would sleep at night so that I didn't feel drugged all day long!

Just ordered my gift basket. Shirley sent me an e-mail and asked me to call her. Turns out she had a minor stroke! (She hasn't posted it to the boards yet though - so SHHHHHH...) But she's back at the store, just not as engaged as she was before. She sounded good on the phone though (just slower) and wished everyone a great trip!

Not sure what our plans are for the 4th. DH (scduckman) has to go into work for a little while- end of month and fiscal year for the accountant is super busy. We may head to the pool for a little while on Sat.

What are the odds????? We are also going to be packing for some little trip in 2 weeks.

ANOTHER Accountant!! So is my DH, Mr. Redlegs!! Do you have "audit time" like we do on vacation?? I jokingly have our kids turn in their receipts at WDW each evening and say, "I am am submitting my receipts for audit, Daddy!" He just cracks up!!!

Luckily fiscal year end was changed for him. It was in the middle of the summer which messed with baseball season and summer vacation!!! Now it is year end when everyone is stuck in the house!!!!

I think that trumps my painted hidden Mickey.

And to be fair, it's not really well hidden. It's large enough that my kids saw it immediately. I have to work on my painting/hiding skills. The rest of the room is quite nice, though, even if it's not exactly what I wanted.

DDs have picked up the hidden Mickey thing and decided that each hidden Mickey they find should be worth 1 Disney dollar. hmmmm.....

It's cute the first time, but then they "find" 10-20 in a row and you gotta wonder...

I hate to hear that. We met Shirley before our first DCL cruise in 2002. She stopped by the Radisson the night before when we had a mini Dis Meet. She brought little gifts for the kids and is really as nice in person as over the phone.

No turning in of receipts. He's usually there anyway to pay for everything since I rarely take any $ or cards with me.
