I have been updating the FE list since we started thread part 2. It's on the 1st post. I do have a question about this though. I know some people are creating some gifts that sound fantastic and time consuming. Is there a point where we close the list? Is it one month prior to sailing, when we reach a certain number on the list? It may be difficult to add people the last few weeks and get more gifts completed. I hate to exclude people who want to participate - we certainly don't have to do that, just wondering what people think on this.

OK, in my freaky - gotta get more organized for this trip - planning mode, I have created a FE spreadsheet.

I have a column for cabin #, state, Adults, Kids, screen name. There are quite a few blanks. I would really like to share this with everyone involved in the FE but I'm not sure how to do this. There are a lot of names missing (if we are giving gifts wouldn't be nice to know people's names?), a few cabin numbers are in question (understandable if they are GTY). I've even sorted it by cabin number.

I would be happy to email this to anyone willing to give me their email address. I could also have copies to give people once on the ship. Do we need to have a mini-meet just for FE participants so we can update any cabin changes?

Sorry - I've hit maximum planning mode, I can't stop myself. It's driving me crazy that I can't put our suitcases out yet. I think our foster son would be a bit put out if I filled his room with our vacation stuff.So, creating this spreadsheet is filling that void. 5) If anyone knows how to get the ship's picture and highlight the rooms with FEs, that works really well? Can anyone volunteer to do that once we find the FE list? Otherwise we could just look at the deck #s and figure it out that way.


I just did a diagram of the ship and marked the cabins if that would be useful.

I really, really don't want to exclude anyone just because they aren't an obsessive vacation planner like I am...

So for those of us who are making time-consuming items, I'm going to make as many as I can and if I don't have enough, I'll just put a small bag of candy or trinkets together for stragglers.

It's not ideal, but I don't want to leave anyone out.

I would suggest making an announcement at the DISmeet that the spreadsheet is available and have folks pick it up from you there. (That is if you don't mind bringing 30 copies with you. ) You could add Gonecruisin's diagram to it at the same time.

I really have to introduce you to my neighbor - uber spreadsheet woman!

DD16 just got her very first job!!!! Go DD!!!!!

She will be working in the child care center in a upscale gym. She really wanted to work there, AND... it gives her and her immediate family a free membership to the gym... gotta love her getting that perk... LOL!

Hi, everybody!

My family and I are headed to Tortola with you all and would love to get in on the FE fun! It's me (Jamie), DH (Bill), DD 11 (Carrie) and DD 9 (Claire). We're in 8548 and our home state is Georgia (are we the only ones from Georgia???)

This will be our fourth cruise, but our first time participating in the FE exchange and it's really added to our pre-trip excitement. We LOVE planning and plotting little surprises like this! Only downside has been getting my girls to agree on what our FE will look like!

I need to go back and read all the posts in this thread, but have my fingers crossed that several of you will jump in with the good news that you've got a daughter (or daughters or nieces) about the same age as my two! Would be great for mine to make some connections before we even board!

We are looking forward to meeting everybody!

Today's events are the reason I will never leave this job. I went into work this morning feeling crappy and just not wanting to be there. I pulled it together before 7:30 and had a smile on my face as kids came through the door. After breakfast I was sitting on the playground talking with another teacher and had one of our special needs kids in my lap. Now this child does not talk so we were not expecting this at all but he suddenly looked and me and said "I love you." We were both in shock but i called his name and he said it again. I love these children and I know they are a lot of work but moments like that make everything all worthwhile.
