Definitely agree - not a huge issue.... I know it's scary - but it is actually quite hard to catch TB.... Repeating a TB test in 6 weeks is normal procedure....

So.....

DH will be back from the U.S. on Friday night - buuuuuuuut - DD5 has a cavity that requires immediate treatment. Since there are no pediatric dentists here, DH will return to DC on Monday with DD to treat her tooth.

Sucks to be him!!!!! :rolleyes1 (Although DD is excited to get to go on a special trip with her daddy! - she doesn't quite understand cavity and dentist yet...:scared1:)

Poor guy, he announced that he was bringing back an empty suitcase and the entire Embassy has now made special requests to fill every last inch! So he'll be out shopping tonight for scrapbooking supplies, groceries, etc. Everything from glue to crisco - wait, are those the same thing???? :lmao:

Hopefully, he won't mind seeing the in flight movies again :lmao:

Well - now he can bring back another empty suitcase... and think of all the frequent flyer miles.... :rotfl:

Seriously... I hope that your DD does well...

I'm hoping we'll have enough to be able to upgrade to business on the way home in June. :rolleyes1 It's probably the last time we'll fly Air France in a while, so might as well cash them all in!

Oh good - i will order the shirts with the date. I know they kind of "date" the shirt, but I like to remember what year we did what. Wonder if the teenager wants one? My bet is a hoodie.

The past few weeks have been crazed for me. And we still have a couple dance competitions, recital and prom before the cruise. Eek - won't give me too much time to think.

I booked the Baths, Palo for Wednesday night (changed from Thursday so we don't miss semi formal) and parasail for castaway cay.

Dizzy - are your kids doing the teen adventure at CC?

Funny, Alli wanted a hoodie too until I reminder it would be for the summer and she thought it would be too hot.

We are doing the Tour to Virgin Gorda (no lunch). Maybe we should rethink that since this one goes in the afternoon instead of the AM.

And we are parasailing again at CC at 2:30 PM. I know it is risky with the weather (possible afternoon storms), but I thought the kids were getting together in the AM on the teen beach.:confused3

They did the teen adventure last summer, and both are not interested in doing it again. Alli said she'd like to bike again at CC. Both said they would have rather just hung out at the beach.

For those of you that signed up for the second group brunch, just to let you know that I faxed the request to DCL. I'll let you know what's going on whenever I hear anything.

Group #2 includes:
disnutz
Tia
luv2boys
Ramule
Noahsmom
SCMinnie/scduckman
Dizzyworld

thanks Shirley!

Dizzy - I think we booked the 1:30 CC parasail. The morning didn't work out so well for us last time, so i guess it really doesn't matter. Wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't. Rachel didn't particularly want to do the excursion, but if the others were, I thought I would see if she was interested. We biked last time, and they had a ball - Rachel definately wants to do it again!

We are on the afternoon group no lunch as well. it was a littel cheaper and not as long, so i went with it. Why are you thinking of changing?

We're also doing a Day at the Baths.

We received a letter from the NYC Dep't of Health that my daughter has most likely been exposed to tubercolosis from a classmate. I was so upset. I took her right to the dr. and he did the TB test. I'll bring her back tomorrow for him to read it but he doesn't think wwe have anything to worry about. He wants ( her arm looks fine) to test her again in 6 weeks just to be sure. We have a meeting at the high school Thursday to discuss the situation.

We will be thinking about you! Hope everything goes well... it does sound like procedure. It's just hard right now with everything else in the news...

Ugh had to go back to the dr today due to stomach issues. She thinks it is more than likely my gallbladder causing all these problems. Tomorrow I'm having a CT scan and if it shows problems they want to do surgery within the next week. Between all this we are doing kindergarten transition stuff easy with the normal kids the special needs kids require a lot of paper work. were also getting a new student next week who is deaf. None of us know any sign language so we are having to do a training course over the next couple of days. I'm soooooo ready for this trip and a chance to escape from everything.

I had my gall bladder removed a couple years ago. They do it laproscopically, so it's not too hard to heal from it. I felt SOOOOOO much better afterwards! :thumbsup2

Of course I freaked out an ultrasound tech a few years later who couldn't find my gall bladder! :lmao::lmao:

I had mine out Jan. 10th. I had two severe episodes in one week - the second of which landed me in the ER with pain like I have never felt.

Oh for heavens sake! Don't worry. It is standard that they must notify you. I'm sure all will be fine, but I understand the worry. We'll pray all will be OK.

Hope all is going to be fine.

Thanks for all your kind words. It helped to put my mind at ease.

Is everyone planning on wearing the shirts to the cruise terminal, the dis meet on the ship or both?

Good luck with your CT scan tomorrow. I hope you feel better soon.

DD - age 16 had her gall bladder out in Jan of this year due to it being dysfunctional - she had it out on a Friday morning (laparoscopy), it was a three day weekend, she was back at school that Tuesday morning. She was on a waiver to leave class 5 minutes early to be out of the halls as much as possible when the other 3000 kids were in the halls. She has been in wonderful shape every since – all the pain is now gone, and she is like a different person. The hardest part was the testing before hand to see if it was indeed her gall bladder giving her all the problems. Then she had to talk her surgeon into doing the surgery on Friday morning, so she would only miss one day of school. He only did surgery on Tuesday and Thursday. She told him that with all the AP and Pre-AP classes she is taking, she just could not miss class – and he did do the surgery on a Friday before he had to go into the office to see regular patients.

I would say, if she was any example, if the doc says it is indeed the gall bladder, to do the surgery – you will be glad you did. She has not had to alter her eating in any way.

Speaking of said DD - I am SOOOOO proud of her, as a high school sophomore – she just took her first college AP level test in Computer Science. I know she did well, (although we won’t get results until mid summer).

Oh yeah - cafepress.com told me my order was shipped out today

I'm not going to bother cancelling and re-ordering the shirts. It is true that the date "dates" a shirt so I feel better. :goodvibes

We finished on-line checkin which just took a few minutes.

I was looking at the cruise that just came back from Tortola. The formal/semiformal and pirates nights are the same. The dining is only 2 times, not three. (The late is 8:15, not sure what time the early is). Tortola got rave reviews as the best of the stops. Not much shopping there. They recommend St. Thomas. They also said if you want jewelry, make sure you go to the Shopping seminar and get coupons. It saved them a lot of money.

If you are doing the Baths excursion, they said to wear socks and sneakers and take bug spray for the trip. Climbing back up from the Baths is steep and rocky and "jungle-like". Many people got blisters and some kids got cut on the rocks. There is no place to wash off so the sand rubbed as well. The poster wore watershoes for the climb and was very sorry. Closed toed shoes were best, she said.

Thx Maryann for the summary. I have to go read it. I think the Baths can be done in bare feet. I agree about the shopping, the best is in St. Thomas. Good news about the late seating time!:woohoo:

My son will be a freshman next year too. I don't know if he is planning on doing the teen excursion. He is parasailing in the morning at CC. He should give the teen boards a try, they seem to have a good group there.

My DD will be 15 and a sophomore next year. Trying to get her to join the group too! Maybe they should start a face book group!:rotfl:

Can we recap for the late comers? When are we meeting for the meet? And the teens are meeting on CC? Where do we sign up for the FE?

I think the diffferent meets are on page 1, you can sign up for FE just here on the boards, I think Noahsmom is doing the list. I am not sure about the teen meet on CC, I do think they are planning on meeting up there but I am not sure of the time. I will try and find out.
