Welcome to our new members! dizzy did you get my information for the brunch?

I'm a Creative Memories consultant and this was my National Scrapbooking Day weekend so I've been busy, busy, busy! It was a great weekend and the weather cooperated with us (rain). Although when it was time to load the car last night did it have to be in a pouring rain? :confused3

Coral World called me yesterday (finally, I had left 2 voice mails and emailed them). She took my payment information but they don't have the schedule for July on their computers yet. This could be why DCL doesn't have these excursions available yet.

I guess my return PM to you didn't go through on your end?:confused3 Yes I did get your info. I'm still waiting for three more people to get their info to me so I can submit the FAX, but I haven't seen them on the board the past two days either. Hopefully soon. :goodvibes

We really enjoyed our trips to Coral World. That was the first place my kids ever snorkled. I bought some blue topaz stones on the ship and had them mounted into jewerly when I got home to always remember that special day.

One of the times we were there, a man was walking around with virgin drinks. If you wanted a non-virgin version he would squirt rum from another bottle into the drink. He did this for these two young women in their 20s. They he told the one to open her mouth and he squirted the run right into her mouth. The reaction was it temporarily paralyzed the back of her mouth. She couldn't swallow. It was a very strange moment.

Is anyone worried about this flu thing? :scared:

I'm just glad I got trip insurance! I can just see - everyone will be required to have their temperatures taken before boarding a plane or a ship. With three little kids - this could be a real problem. :sad2: Particularly since we'll be traveling from Burkina to France to DC to Denver to San Antonio to Orlando to the ship and back to DC.

WAY too many opportunities to pick up a little bug. :scared1::scared1:

I'm worried about it - in global terms - but doubt that it will affect our cruise.... They key is good handwashing - and staying away from those who are coughing.....

I'm not really worried about the flu thing and this trip. Maybe if we were going to Cozumel I would be at least a little concerned. We tend to not worry about to much when we travel we get good travel insurance not through Disney plus our regular health insurance and just go. I can just as easily get sick at home as on vacation so might as well travel.

Two more days of being stuck at home and then I can go back to work. I'm more than ready to go back i miss my kids.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Lissa

Lissa - how are you feeling? I've been wanting to ask:hug::hug:

Sorry i haven't been chatting alot - have some small issues at home I'm dealing with, and believe it or not, it is NOT my family this time......I actually like my family this hour:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

The flu? I don't want to think about it.....NOTHING is going to stop me from this cruise....only way I'm worried about it if we were travelling with guests from Africa:scared1: (joking JoAnn #2, joking:grouphug::grouphug:). I know this is serious, stay safe everyone, we are TOO close to this exciting cruise, noone is allowed to get sick, plus we have a doctor (?) on our thread who will take care of all of us!:flower3::cheer2:

WASHINGTON – The U.S. declared a public health emergency Sunday to deal with the emerging new swine flu, much like the government does to prepare for approaching hurricanes.

Officials reported 20 U.S. cases of swine flu in five states so far, with the latest in Ohio and New York. Unlike in Mexico where the same strain appears to be killing dozens of people, cases in the United State have been mild — and U.S. health authorities can't yet explain why.

"As we continue to look for cases, we are going to see a broader spectrum of disease," predicted Dr. Richard Besser, acting chief of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "We're going to see more severe disease in this country."

At a White House news conference, Besser and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sought to assure Americans that health officials are taking all appropriate steps to minimize the impact of the outbreak.

Top among those is declaring the public health emergency. As part of that, Napolitano said roughly 12 million doses of the drug Tamiflu will be moved from a federal stockpile to places where states can quickly get their share if they decide they need it. Priority will be given to the five states with known cases so far: California, Texas, New York, Ohio and Kansas.

Napolitano called the emergency declaration standard operating procedure — one was declared recently for the inauguration and for flooding. She urged people to think of it as a "declaration of emergency preparedness."

"Really that's what we're doing right now. We're preparing in an environment where we really don't know ultimately what the size of seriousness of this outbreak is going to be."

Lissa - how are you feeling? I've been wanting to ask:hug::hug:

I am feeling much better if i could get past being soo tired and sick to my stomach I would be back to normal but I'm told that it will take time. I've been a diabetic for 20 years now and this is the first problem I have ever had with and hopefully it will be the last.

Everybody stay well. Wash your hands a lot and if you feel sick go to the DR immediately don't wait.

OK what are the symptoms of this swine flu? I've been sick since Thursday. I got a real bad chill and started running a temp. Every joint in my body hurts. My temp has been see sawing from 99 to 101.5. I'm exhausted. I really need to get away.

Hello everybody... I spent the weekend in Tampa, FL acting like a parrothead at the Jimmy Buffet concert! :cool1: It was fantastic!! Just catching up on our thread... love the idea of the shirts! Can't wait to get all of the information on ordering. My DD watched the MAGIC leave on Saturday for Tortola, and sent me a picture from the webcam! AWESOME!! Take care everybody...

Hi Everyone,

I'm finally back from vacation. We had a wonderful time.

I hope everyone had a good couple of weeks. I know I 'll never catch up here on all that''s been going on.

It's good to be back!

What are the symptoms of swine flu in humans?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are expected to be similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza and include fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Welcome! My DMIL will be with us and she will be so excited to hear of someone from Shelbyville! Isn't that where the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration is each Aug? They have gone like every year since the late 60s!! They used to have horses but recently got out of the showing. She LOVES those horses!

Yes it is where the TNWC is held every year. We try to leave town during the show due to all the people that come to town. We used to rent our house out and it paid for most of our vacation to WDW. I usually go the 1st 2 nights then we leave as soon as our DDs get out of school. I can't wait to meet you. My mom and dad are also coming on the cruise. They have owned a box at the show as long as I can remember. It would be great if they could meet. :)

They have always sat in a box too that is owned by a friend. They rent a house too with another couple. MIL hasn't gone for the past year or two due to being ill. This cruise is her first vacation! She will be so psyched to hear that there are people on the cruise from Shelbyville.

Well since I didn't see the flying pig I don't think that is what I had. It was pretty miserable though. I think I finally feel a little better today - maybe I can clean up the mess in the house that the boys made while I was sick.

On another note DS called yesterday to make ressies for Fantasmic dinner at Mama Melrose. It was the 90 day mark. He called around 12:30 and was told there was nothing available.:scared1: We ended up with 4:10 at Hollywood and Vine. I'm really concerned about free dining.

OK who here knew that if you are staying on Disney Property you can book dining 90 days plus 10? Why was I not informed of this? At least all of our ressies are now made.

We had a hard time getting all of our dining ressies also. Matt made the first set and was able to get everything when i called yesterday to make the last set almost everything was gone. We are going to be eating at really weird times but at least we were able to get something. I also didn't realize it was 90 days plus 10.
