July 18, 2007 07-18-07 Med Cruise

Well I spent my day packing today. :rotfl: Everyone's luggages are ready to go except some last minute items. We leave this Wednesday (7-11) and tomorrow we have the Police concert so I wanted to get the packing out of the way. I'm very excited:banana: and hoping that I didn't forget anything!! All the boys are at football practice so I have some peaceful time to myself:hippie: If I don't post again...here is wishing everyone a safe flight over ...see you all on the magic!!

Misbel, Have a safe trip. With you leaving, it means we are that much closer to the cruise.

See you there!!

The countdown is on... door signs complete :)

I couldn't figure out how to put in a link just to the pictures themselves, but you can go to our blog and see the door signs: jimannjamie.blogspot.com.

Hi Everyone, Looks like everyone is mostly from the East Coast or from Europe. I was just wondering how long the travel time is for you. Our is 16 hours barring no delays. We have a 4 hour trip from Las Vegas to Philly and then 4 hour layover and then 8 hours to Barcelona. :scared:

Will yours be just as long?

We're coming from San Diego so our trip is about 16 hours including a 3 hour layover in Philly. And we're traveling with a 2-year-old. :scared1:

For everyone doing magnetic door signs, are you packing them in your suitcase or your carryon? I wasn't sure if I put it in my carryon if it would be stopped in the security checkpoint.

Hey, I figure if anyone says anything (and they won't), we could just talk about lost luggage and let people think that we were waiting for our luggage with our formalwear to catch up to us (:rotfl2: ). Just kidding! But seriously, that's why we have some of everyone's clothes in multiple bags - we have five bags and each of us has at least one change of clothes in each of 3 bags. So chances are we'll at least have a change of clothes unless it all gets delayed. Which reminds me that I forgot to leave out a change of clothes for the kids to put in their back-packs. They may be 11 and almost 10, but as sure as I don't put a change where I can get it easily, someone will need it. Same thing for coming home - leave an extra change to go in the carry-on.

That's a great idea on putting a change of clothes for each person in each checked bag. I hadn't thought of that - but I am planning on packing a pair of undies for everyone in the carryon (...sorry...TMI?)!

As per my phone call with DCL, here are the movies playing while we are onboard (sorry if I mispell something)

Wild Hogs
Meet the Robinsons
Bridge to Teribithia
Pirates of the Caribbean, At World's End
Pirates of hte Caribbean, Dead Man's Chest
Invincible
Ratatouille
Prestige
Casino Royale
Incredibles
The Wild
Italian Job
Moulin Rouge
Phantom of the Opera
Wallace and Grommit, Curse of the Ware Rabbit

Think that covers it!

I'm so glad Ratatouille will be played. I went to see it with DD & DH last weekend & we had to leave about 15 minutes from the end as the popcorn had run out, and with it, DD's patience & attention span. We may try to sneak in for just the last bit!

Here's the Final List of DISers traveling with us -- if you have something you want to change, please let me know and I'll update it. I think I got all the new folks added! I thought maybe we can have a "sign in" sheet at the Meet on Wednesday and then take it to the lunch on Thursday so we can see who all we actually meet!

NZDISNEYMOM: You have been so kind to keep this list going. I know you said this was the final list. Is this still the final list or do you have anymore updates. I just wanted to make sure before you leave.

:cool1: :cool1:

You guys have been so busy overnight! OK, to catch up a little...

I'm starting to think we might not get a door sign now :sad1: I just can't find anyone who sells that magnetic stuff. None of our stationary suppliers have even heard of it. Shame, it sounds like a fun idea.

Films - a few of the newer ones on the list haven't been released over here yet, so it might be nice to catch up on a few of those.

Packing started. We've always done the splitting clothes between bags thing. It didn't help us much when we flew to Vancouver though - a baggage handler's strike left ALL our cases at London Heathrow. Since then we've made sure that a few clothes are always in hand luggage, just in case...

Shaun

and you're not going to believe this, but the sun has come out! The forecast is that we *might* finally get our first day without rain for seven weeks!!! I'm reeaalllyy looking forwards to some Mediterrenian sunshine....

Oh no, as yes it was very difficult to get magnetic in uk but I managed got it by Ebay. I bought it last year and keep 3 left for this Cruise. If, I have spare one, I will do it for you!! But my in law
are coming and I am making it up for her.

Some films that I never heard of it so hope have time to watch it!!

I already packing the kids clothes and think I have to change the plan now, one case for Barcelona for all of us for 3 nights. Another 4 cases will not touch it until Crusie? Is that make sense??

Very cool!

To put a picture in, you can use a photo hosting site like photobucket and then just copy the IMG tag code that it gives you for your picture - just drop that code right into your post here on DISBoards.

Diana - here's hoping that other passport arrives today!

i'm planning to put my doorsigns in one of our suitcases - just put them in a heavy envelope with some cardboard or something to keep them from getting bent. And if they do get bent, oh well.

Kathie - I think that's the final list - we haven't had anyone else join in the last day or so, and I went back through and everyone except three have posted within the last month (then I got tired of looking backwards). So I think we're safe with the number on the list - I'm bringing enough for 36 families (not that it is anything really, but just for fun of it).

Busy day around here again - kids have a playdate this morning which is nice for me because it's with some friends we haven't visited with in a while - and I'm taking the morning off work to go. I've been able to work from home the last couple of weeks in the morning (I'm a very lucky girl) and just go in the office in the afternoon.

Our Euros should arrive tomorrow! I'm going to get our travel-money today. Still trying to work out how much I want to bring as we'll have a couple of days in Atlanta before leaving. I think I'll be sure to leave some $$ with my brother so we'll at least have getting-home-cash when he picks us up at the airport upon our return.

Oh - did we ever figure out FOR SURE which night is Pirate night??? pirate:

we are in trouble for the cruise....

my wife's grandmother is very ill, i think she is going to die, she is old and now she can't move in her bed and she doesn't want to eat, so that's why i'm worried about my wife, her grand mother and our dreams with the cruise.

maybe we are going to lose all our points and money, i don't know, but the principal thing is our dream and our desires to be there with disney.

Hello All,

I can't remember wo posted about the Griswald's but i'm still laughing:rotfl:

Did the missing pasport show up yet?

One more thing, thanks to info gained from the board I kept checking DCL for the sold out shore excursion I wanted to the beach day on Covaldo Beach and last night it opened up and I was able to book it.

Thanks for the movie list...Can't wait... the anticipation is killing me.

keep posting

Susan
