Ariel - that's so cool! yep, we're in 6116 which we think is a cool number (backwards and forwards, it's the same).

OK, last post tonight for me. I asked our TA about emergency contact info to leave at home for DCL - here's what she gave me:

Just thought I'd pass that along. I got our emergency contact / itinerary stuff done today and sent out to family members, etc. who need it.

We also got the majority of the packing done, so we just have a few odds and ends and the boys' pants they wear to church tomorrow and that should be it. I wanted to have it all done as much as possible this weekend so that on Friday we'll just toss in whatever we still have left and it won't be a big deal. We've divided clothing among multiple bags, have one bag specifically for Barcelona so we don't have to open all the other ones, and believe it or not, we have it all in just 5 bags -- two bigger suitcases, two small ones (carry-on size), and then my pride-and-joy $1.50 find from Goodwill about 6 years ago. The boys do still need to get their stuff together for taking on the plane, though, and that could be a nightmare (hee hee). I have the suitcases all stacked in the living room - the nice thing is it gives the clothes a chance to 'settle' and thus make more room if I needed it - and the children are under pirate: threat of Mom's wrath pirate: should they even consider looking at, touching or opening any of the suitcases. Or at least be at risk of arriving in Spain without any clean underwear

Hope you all have a wonderful night!

Hi Cindy

Many thank for giving out the emergency nos and I write down.

I was meeting my good friend at Glasgow and she gave me a lovely necklace for the Cruise as I bought some green clothes. The necklace is lovely, seem old fashion style.

I am thinking to pay extra one case at British Airway as don't want to pay charge if over weight. So will bring 5 cases now, 2 big and 3 medium cases now:thumbsup2

Today we are going to Royal Mile near Edinburgh Castle to get more little gifts for the dis. and nearly finish shopping.

I am glad that the weather start lovely today and hope no more raining as too many raining here unbelieveable.

Oh yes, door signs - have done it but need one more for in law, will do that later today.

Hello,

We are coming in to the Grand Marina on Monday.. July 16... We will be on the lookout for you.

:dance3:

Hi

Just found out that our cabin number is 2574. Not as posh as some, but at least we're on board. Please add us to the list.

Wow everyone has been really busy on the thread since I last posted, it has taken me quite some time to catch up with it all.

Iam glad to hear everyone is coming on well with all the arrangements, packing etc as there are only 10 days to go :cool1:  :woohoo:  :cool1: can you believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello All, I just found this site and we will also be on the cruise. There will be 9 of us. Me and my 3 daughters, :dance3: 17,15 and 11 - my sister, brother-in-law and niece, princess: 5 and my mom and dad and niece, :cheer2: 22. We are very excited and would love to talk with other cruisers. I love the idea of the door magnets and sent my 17 year old to go and get the mickey paint chips today. My 11 year old is going to design the pictures for us.

We are flying from Las Vegas to Phil then to Barcelona arrriving the day of the cruise. This is our first Disney cruise :yay: , so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We are so excited!!!

:welcome: Kathie and all the other new Dissers who have recently joined. It is great that there are more fellow dissers joining us on the cruise.

I am Andrea and will be travelling with my DD (11). We will be arriving in Barcelona on the 15th and we are also staying at the Grand Marina.

I look forward to meeting you and everyone else at the meet and greet on the 18th.

Andrea

I'm trying to keep our number of suitcase down to four. One per a person plus a hanging bag but I have a feeling that is not going to happen. I know us we will end up with six checked bags plus six carry ons and my cooler for my insulin. What is funny about this is that the suitcases are usually half empty. I think we need packing intervention and the motivation to get started.

Hi Deborah :thumbsup2

I have already done this with Globespan as we are only allowed 20 kilos per person which is not very much, as we will be taking 2 cases and a bag. I paid £60 and we are allowed an extra 10 kilos each there and back. I thought this would be cheaper than paying at check in. I think Globespan will be really strict with their limits as they are a low budget airline but I think there is more come and go with BA.

Just think a week today and we will already be in sunny Barcelona :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: .

See you soon

Andrea

Iam also trying to keep the amount of packing to minimum as I want lots of room for souveniers. Iam thinking of packing for 7 days and sending the laundry :laundy: to DCL to do 1/2 way through (sounds better than doing it myself). This would mean I would have to wear things twice but as they are clean I am sure no one will mind (I hope). Iam only toying with this idea at the moment as once I start packing i don't know if I will be able to stop at 7 days worth of clothes  .

I'm off to do some shopping at the outlet mall, although it is supposed to be 95 degrees here! Well, I suppose it will get me used to walking around in scorching heat next week. I need a camera case, but I will probably come home with bags of other goodies. Who can pass up a sale!

Oh I love outlet malls. We have a large one about 11/2 hours away in Pigeon Forge that we go to all the time. I'm the same way I go for one thing and come back with several.

Lissa:tinker:

Plan to start on the small stuff and carry on bags today. :cool1:

I'm planning on taking about 7 days of clothes as well and sending out or doing laundry. We did 3 weeks in China 3 years ago and did just fine.

5 more days of work - it will be a long week since everyone suddenly expects all these things to be done - but worth it to be away for 2 weeks :dance3:

How many families are we up to now? 30 or more?

Watching tennis on tv and doing laundry but need to go shopping (again) :upsidedow

Does anyone know if they've released any special pins for these cruises? (like Disney are going to miss up a chance for extra profit on collectables!!!)

Anyone know of a site showing these or any other exclusive merchandise? I want to prepare my visa card for the shock

;)

Shaun

They have been selling pins for each of the ports we visit. Don't know if they are LE or not, but I have seen them on Ebay. They are running $10.50 or $10.95 US each when we were on in May. Plus they have a whole boat load of stuff for the Med. cruises in Treasure Ketch. Make sure your VISA has plenty of room on it! :lmao:

Oh, let me get out my binder and I can tell you...................

The Pre-Cruise Barcelona section says we are staying at Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya in Barcelona on Tuesday night.

That is where we are staying too! We are staying there on Monday and Tuesday night pre-cruise, and then again after the cruise. Found it on trip advisor :) Didn't think there'd be any other Disers there though, since it isn't an official Disney hotel.

Zachary wanted me to find out if anyone on our thread plays VMK (Virtual Magic Kingdom). He's been playing since the Beta days, nearly just over 2 years now, as has Nathan.

So, any VMKers? I play very occasionally myself, but mostly just to keep track of what's going on in the world of the Virtual Magic Kingdom.

Let me know either here or by PM if you or your kids are players.

You can tell Zachary that my sister plays, although only very occasionally. We had fun last time we were at WDW doing the Magic Kingdom treasure hunt cards for VMK...

I found it on trip advisor too! I checked into staying at a Dis hotel, but was unwilling to pay the amount of $$ they wanted. The price we got at the Torre Catalunya was a 1/4 of what Disney wanted for theirs. And since we were just in Barcelona in May, I felt comfortable booking there since we are familiar with the city (somewhat). With the subway station right there and the hop on/off bus just across the way, figured we couldn't go wrong. We will probably run into you at some point!

Okay, I am keeping this list for my benefit here, more than for anyone else. Here's is who is planning on going to lunch on Thursday at noon for a mini-meet after we have sailed:

Seaulater-2
Butterbear-2
Nzdisney-2
Tinkerbell29-3

Just an FYI, you are NOT committed to lunch, just cuz I have your name (actually I will hunt you down if you don't show up pirate: ), but I need to give them an idea of how many will show up at one time so they can plan an area for us accordingly.

This is a casual lunch, anyone is welcome to attend!

Hello

My in law would like to join in

2 - Lilian and Alex

At BA, I will pay 42.00 on internet this week to have another luggage.

woohoo: One more week now, get closer :thumbsup2

At last, there will be sunny all this week!!

And Olivia is so happy with her new equipment called 'Freedom' and no more bulky pocket!! So she can wear any clothes with thin straps now!!
