I thought I read somewhere that in the summer they are actually 6 hours ahead of us? Got to find that out as my insulin pump gives me insulin based on time. While on the plane I plan on sleeping as much as I can even if it is just cat naps "cause when we get to barcelona we are checking into the hotel and then trying to cram everything we want to see into a short time frame. Like I keep telling mom and Matt we can sleep when were dead not on a trip of a lifetime.

So how many hours ahead is Barcelona from Mickey, East Coast?

Oh never mind - I found it - 5 hours ahead of us.

I am not sure how many hours as we flighted home from Florida to Manchester, England last year, it was 6 hours as we went out to Florida was 9 hours.

You are lucky that flight out at night times as it is so prefect for u and your sons as they will have good sleep.:thumbsup2 Please have a good sleep and you won't have jet lag:thumbsup2

We came home from Florida at night time as my family had a good sleep apart from us!!

PS, I hang my new clothes and have not decide which one, think take all hee hee.

Ok I know I was not supposed to do any more shopping but we were in the mall this afternoon and I found the perfect outfit for Rome. It is a light green top and a cotton green patterened skirt. I figured that would be cooler than wearing pants or capris and it covers my knees. Now I have to hide it so mom won't know it wasn't already in my closet.

6 Hours isn't too bad, especially since we will have a couple days in Barcelona prior to the cruise to help get used to the time!

Ok, I hit Staples after work and purchased a lightweight 3 ring binder with a package of 25 clear view folders. I thought that was such a good idea that some of you had about using a binder that I would get one myself.

Now to organize and get everything in order..

Well, I finally took care of ordering our Euros tonight, so we should get them by Wednesday. I couldn't figure out how much to order, so I kept going back and forth about it, so now I'm glad it's settled. One more thing off my list of things to do.

I'm still debating about doing a door sign - I want to do one but haven't had a chance to do much more than look through the thread about them for some ideas. And then I saw the whole fish-extender thread and wished I'd seen it two months ago and we could've done that, too. Oh well.

Have a great night.

I know that many of us will be in Barcelona for a few days before we cruise. Where's everyone decided to stay?

We're at the Hotel 1898, it looks pretty classy.

I know for sure it is indeed 6 hours.
We have 3 clocks hanging next to the dining table.
One with local time, one with local time in Orlando (disney fan?) and another one. So I can always see what time it is in Orlando, and the difference is indeed 6 hours.

We are staying in Icaria hotel by the way.
Leaving on saturday the 14th
BUT: my vacation already started !!! Yes !
Yesterday work untill 23:00 , but now it's finished !! Ready .:dance3:

Greetings,

Aw....the fish extender. Need to pack that too. The history of the fish extender for those that don't know........Once upon a time, there were these "fish" that were outside our stateroom doors and generally they very rarely got mail put into them. Only once in a while did you get a note from DCL or DVC telling you where to be and when. So, meanwhile, back on the farm, (or so they say), a fellow disboarder, Epcotkilterfan, was preparing for a journey of a lifetime on the May, 2005, Westbound Panama Canal cruise. This crazy thing started on that thread about exchanging small gifts/trinkets at sailaway. Well, in between her time keeping busy at the American Red Cross, Epcotkilterfan (Debbie) had some spare time and stopped in her local dollar store and calling out from the back of the store were the 1st "official" fish extenders. She bought them all and gave them to her fellow disboarders as her sailaway gift. We went to our stateroom, and hanging there on that lonely fish was the "Fish Extender" with five pockets with Mickey waving at us. Thus the birth of the fish extender was created. My original one from Debbie is lime green. Since then, the fish extender has evolved into a "cult" following. We have had fish extender contests on our 9-18-06 Wonder 11 nights in Paradise Cruise, and they continued with the EB TransAtlantic. Each cruise, new cruisers join the "cult" and have a fish extender hanging from their fish outside their stateroom.

And let me tell you, these are no simple extenders. There are many variations from the original that has five pockets and is about 6 inches across. I have seen them as wide as 12 inches, with a pocket for each family member in the stateroom. If you have time, you should join the "fish extender cult".

Okay, here I am typing and I have so much to do!

Linda - thanks for the DIS-tory lesson! I didn't know the origin of the Fish Extenders but love the idea - and that also explains the history of exchanging little gifts / tokens / etc.

Well, I have all my clothes laid out on the bed and am ready to put mine into the suitcase. Everything is mix and match. Guess that means I need to drag the suitcase out of the closet :) DH has a couple of t-shirts and shorts on the bed - hope that's not all he's planning to pack but knowing him, it is. I've printed out my "outfit" list to take with me along with my laundry-schedule. So if you see me wearing the same outfit today that I wore three days ago, please know that we've done laundry :laundy: I thought we'd do laundry on Wed., Sun., and Wed. Although I might send out our Sunday laundry and have DCL take care of it for us :) I figure embarkation day won't be too busy in the laundry room, but we'll have been traveling for a few days already so we'll have a stack.

Oh, let me get out my binder and I can tell you...................

The Pre-Cruise Barcelona section says we are staying at Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya in Barcelona on Tuesday night. We also have a 5 p.m. segway tour booked with Edgar at Barcelona Glides which is fabulous (because Robert and I did this in May and rebooked with him for July so we can take our daughter Jamie).

Then on Wednesday morning my binder has written down that we are going to the Chocolate Museum at 10 a.m.

And then we are going back to the hotel, getting our luggage and heading to the DISNEY MAGIC!!!!

(p.s. Someone asked about the binder. I just have one with sections in it so I have all my hotel, air, excursion, car confirmations in it so I know where to go and when to go there. If I leave it up to my memory at this point I will forget something.) When we were in Barcelona and got off the ship in May we told the taxi driver we wanted to go to the Renaissance at the Barcelona Airport. He kept asking me for an address. I didn't have it. Finally, one of the Disney people told him in spanish where it was at! Once at the hotel I picked up a business card from the concierge desk in case we got lost and no one spoke english I could at least hand the card to them to show them where I was going to!

Okay, going to move :laundy: to the dryer!

We're arriving on Tuesday and are staying at Atenea Mar. Angie and her family are also staying there so we're meeting up at the hotel to get acquainted.

Lissa and her traveling party are on the same flight as us so I'm sure we'll have a chance to say hi in the airport waiting area. Lissa, we need to figure out how to recognize each other. I'll PM you, ok?

I just checked the Delta site for baggage limitations - I had looked a couple of weeks ago but didn't write them down. I was thinking 50 inches in dimension (it's 62 inches / 50 lbs) for checked baggage so I was about to panic that our luggage was a few inches too big - but it's not - it's a few inches under (and it has the capability to expand a bit, too, so we're covered). However, it already weighs 9 lbs to start with!

Hey - did you guys realize that we're NEXT?!!!!! Yep, that's right - we are next to board the Magic because today is the day that the 07-07-07'ers are sailing away. And with the six hour time difference, they are sitting down for dinner right now (it's noon here). WOWIE WOW WOW - we're NEXT!!!!!!!!!!
