We are all so excited and we keep watching the video over and over again! I am eager to try the new coffee shop that used to be Common Grounds. Has anyone tried it yet?

Dis Teach - yes we tried it and loved it! With the purchase of a coffee they had complimentary snacks available. Also DH bought a cigar and enjoyed smoking it there very much. Nice location adjacent to the adult pool. :)

To clarify, there is no smoking inside the coffee shop. Smoking is only allowed outside the shop. Was very enjoyable watching the ocean go by. :)

Hi Everybody,
When we booked our hotel in Barcelona we had to book it ourselves becasue Disney had nothing available. No biggie got the names of the hotels Disney was offering and went to expedia. Got a great deal on the Grand Marina hotel we booked it because it said you could see the ships from the hotel. It was not until yesterday that the hotel was litterally at the port. We have paided for transfer from the hotel to the port through Disney but now I'm not sure we need it? Also not sure on how to get from the airport to the hotel? The though of getting into a taxi with someone who speaks no english is a little scary.

I"d probably just go ahead and use DCL transfer since you've already paid for it and then you don't have to worry about getting to the port. And since you're staying at one of the DCL hotels (even though you booked on your own), check and see if you can do your cruise check-in right there at the hotel rather than having to do it at the port. And with DCL transfers, you may not have to deal with your luggage beyond having it ready to go.

Hi Lissa

We are also staying at the Grand Marina hotel pre & post cruise :thumbsup2 and booked the hotel through expedia ourselves, (from Sunday 15/07/2007 to 18/07/2007 and then 28/07/2007 for 1 night), how long are you staying?.

I will be using a taxi to take us to and from the airport and I believe they are around 20 euros plus 1 euro per bag each way. I will also be using a taxi to take me to the port from the hotel as I think this is much cheaper than the DCL transfer option. Would DCL let you cancel the transfer option with a refund?

From what I have read on one of the 1st Med trip reports Nzdisneymom is correct, if you stay at disney recommended hotel you can check in at the hotel, get your KTTW card and they will transport your luggage to the ship allowing you to bypass the terminal check in altogether, although I believe this was done by people who had booked their hotel through DCL, so I don't know if us people who booked on our own will be able to do this. But it sure does sound good if we can use it.

I hope you are all keeping well and starting to get organised for your trips. Only 50 days to go. Yipeeeeeeeeeeee.

Hi Everybody

I just have been booking the Grand Marina hotel yesterday for my husband's parent. We treat them for their anniversary and will tell them to take the taxi from Airport to the hotel.

As we are flight out on 15th July and stay in Barcelona for three nights. That why I had to book the hotel for them for one night on 17th July.

It will be great to meet the people who stay there.

Hey Andrea,
We are only going to be there the night before the cruise the 17th. I wanted to come in earlier but for some reason could not get on a flight to Barcelona any earlier than the 16th. We will have to try and meet up before the cruise since we are at the same hotel.

Hi Lissa

That sounds good :thumbsup2 . I think Deborah's (Scottishwee) inlaws will also be staying in the same hotel on the 17th so we could all meet up. Will speak to you about it nearer the time.

I'm getting anxious to get our air info; our TA said it would be 30 days out, but I had read on DCL that it would be 45 days out but read somewhere on the DIS that it's been even as close as 22 days out. Ay yi yi. 45 days out is this Friday, so I'll start the daily checking then!

Our TA did confirm that we'll need to bring copies of all the online check-in forms that we complete, so I'll be doing that this week - finishing them up and printing them out. Guess I'll go ahead and make copies of our passports, too, so I can start a folder.

And of course I'm spending a lot of time reading the blogs :surfweb: of those who are sailing this week!

We are staying at the Grand Marina also! We booked through Travelocity. We had signed up for transfers originally but then I called & canceled them. I can't remember why?? We'll be there July 15 - 18 & then July 28 - 29.

From the Schiffy Blog:

A special note to this trip for those that will be cruising later on, and I think other trips as well, is to bring toilet paper. You will not find it on these side trips

I can think of many useful tips that I have learned from the DIS Board, but I guess that this would have to find itself near the top of the list!! (Somewhere around the shoe hanger for the back of the door!!!)

One more thing to add to my packing list (hee hee).

Hi Cindy

I hope you get your flight information soon, as it is always nice to check another thing off your to do list.

I am also spending a lot of time reading the blogs of those sailing this week, I think they are having a great time despite the changeable weather. Have you listened to IcunurseCeleste's Gab Cast? I thought that it was a great idea.

About the hotel - Grand Marina as some people are staying there, that is great and hope we will meet you and other on 17 July also need find out what Disney provides well.

I read the blog everyday too.

Cindy and Carol-Ann

I remember that you both will arrange to meet on the Cruise? Have you decide when and where to meet? At Promenade Lounge? Just wonder if is it okay to bring an interpreter for my husband and we want give our (hearing) parents in law enjoy themselves.
