July 18, 2007 07-18-07 Med Cruise

:welcome: to jslpotz and dvcspain! Glad to have you on the thread! So you don't have to back-track, I'm Cindy D. (43), traveling with DH Gary (51) and two sons Nathan (soon to be 11) and Zachary (9 1/2). This will be our 2nd Disney cruise but our first trip to the Mediterranean.

Hello everyone. I just wonder if someone will visit Disneyland Resort Paris after the cruise? We will...

I'm so jealous! I wish we were going to Disney Paris afterwards! I LOVE Paris & the only time I ever went to Disney Paris was 13 years ago when I lived in France for a year during college. It was a rainy day & overcrowded & we only rode on 1 ride after an hour & a half wait! I need to go back someday so I can enjoy the experience!

I have been Disneyland Resort at Paris twice with kids. Kids loved it:thumbsup2

I am afraid that we are not going to Disneyland after the Cruise as we are flying home at Saturday afternoon. I booked the flight last year and cannot change it due to charge extra.

But there always another times for us:thumbsup2

Especially 15th this year sound good, shame to miss it.

Hi

Good news that parents are coming, Bad news that none of excursions are available for them. I know that it was last minutes booking.

I was looking at excursions at Rome that Jumping back into external , Florence and Pisa are not available for them.

I expect that Palo - none of it available. I am not worry about it but I hope to book it when we are on the Cruise.

I am looking for share in private hire car or anybody who need two more extra people for Rome?

I will talk to parent on Sunday and see what they want.

Dear Deborah

Great to hear your inlaws will be joining you. I bet this has made you even more excited (is that possible?). Pity about the excursions but try and book them when we go aboard on the 18th.

Yay - more DIS-related cruisers!

My kids got out of school yesterday, so that hurdle is over! Next up is DS#1's 11th birthday in mid-June, and then the push towards our trip! Hooray!!!

I'm going to start the packing list this weekend as I go through the kids' clothes to see what they've outgrown in the last week (ay yi yi). And I'm going to do our online check-in forms this weekend, too.

Deborah glad your in-laws will be joining you. Keep trying with the excursions you never know.

Yeah in a week we are going back to WDW. We are also closing on our house next week. We are going to be busy between now and the cruise.

Thankfully I've got all my clothes reayd to go for the cruise. My mom for some reason has bought nothing but bottoms. I keep picking on her that just becasue the beaches are topless does not mean the rest of the cruise is.

Everybody in the US have a good Memorial day weekend. Stay safe and be careful when driving.

Hi all,

I am getting so excited that I can hardly stand it!! I can't wait to hear how the first med. cruise goes. Hopefully we can learn a lot from them. Does anybody know how to check on Palo reservations once we board the ship? We have reservations for the first night as that was the only one available when we booked on May 4th. Yuck! I just think we will be way too tired to truly enjoy Palo after our red eye flight from the states. Thanks!!!!

My DH is not nearly as excited about this cruise as I am! He barely thinks about it. I can't even get 5 minutes of his time to help me decide between excursions. Can anyone relate? He's like, "I think about work. I don't have time to think about the cruise." Yeah - like he never day dreams! Wait a minute... Sad! Maybe he never day dreams?! :scared1:

I would also say don't worry. I don't have that problem with a man (i haven't got one :rotfl2: ) but I do get from my DD (11). She wonders why all of my spare time is taken up with the cruise and has told me in the past to 'get a life'. She is getting a little more excited as the cruise date comes nearer but I don't think she will catch me up.

Here's how we decided on excursions -- I went through all of them and made a short list - eliminating those that we couldn't do because of kid restrictions / limitations or price. Then I ordered them by each port according to what I thought we'd want to see / do, eliminating those that didn't include what we wanted (for example, I know we want to go to Pompeii, so if the excursion at that port didn't include it, then the excursion didn't make the short list).

Then I gave the printed pages of the ones that made the short list to DH and asked him to skim through and just check or X the page according to whether he was interested or not. He didn't have time or inclination to go through all the excursions available but was able to go through the short list.

For the question about Palo, I think you go to the Rockin' D Bar after you board to get your additional reservations / switch your current reservation. Try to get to the ship so you board earlier in the day so that there will be a time slot left that you want.

The 1st Med cruise is leaving TODAY!

MEN!! I live with 4 of them. They don't understand why I'm always on these boards. They just want to get on the ship. THey don't care what we do when we get there. They leave all the planning to me!!!:cutie:
