Lilkid - welcome to the thread and to DISBoards! We've got a great group of DISers going on this cruise!

I know some of you (scottishwee!!) are reading the Live from... report about the crossing, but for those who aren't, just thought I'd share another link to a blog about it. http://davidsondrifters.blogspot.com/

Can you tell what I'm doing this week?

Glad to know I'm not the only one reading these reports. My mom and brother think i have totally lost my mind and need some sort of intervention to become unaddicted to the computer.

It looks like the group from the first Med. itinerary have plans to do a Live From... thread as well - you betcha I'll be reading that one, too, because they'll be doing the things we'll be doing. :surfweb:

Can you believe that in just over 9 weeks we'll be sailing? Remember when it was more than a year? I try to work it into conversation every day (hee hee). My coworkers think I"m funny (LOL).

Hi All

I hope everyone is keeping well.

It is soooooo great to be reading the first TA reports it makes our cruise feel even closer and so real. My DD thinks Iam mad as I am always on to read what they have been up to next. I can't wait until we get the first 10 or 11 night Med report as this will let us know exactly what we can expect.:thumbsup2

Deborah,

I still have not heard from DCL re the chocolate museum tour so i have emailed :surfweb: them again today and will let you know when I get a reply, but i am thinking it may be cancelled as they have replied to all my other queries within 24 hours but this has been a good few days now.

Only 64 days until the MAGIC begins.

Andrea

Exciting?:goodvibes :goodvibes

About chocolate museum, if they cancel it so will you have time for you and your daughter to visit it by your own times?

We are going to chocolate museum on our times but hopeful we have the times for it. I think it will be great for the kids to see it yum yum

Hi Everyone,
I've been out of touch for a week, so it has been fun to catch up on all the excitement  We leave for Barcelona 2 months exactly from today (14th)! Can't wait :hourglass So glad to see that everyone's shore excursions are coming together. :woohoo: We are still looking for 2-3 other folks who would be interested in sharing our private tour guide in Rome. He is actually the owner of the tour company and will personally be escorting usfor the day. His price is fantastic, only 100 Euro per person, so if anybody is interested, please let me know.
I am hearing that we could encounter lots of traffic congestion in ports like La Spezia, Civitavechia and even in Sardinia. I would really prefer not to spend 2+ hours sitting on a bus stuck in traffic.

I am also glad to hear that 2 or 3 others of you are doing the same excursions as we are in Olbia and La Spezia. Here is our info for the getting to know you game:

What's your name/age? Sandy 56
Travel partner(s)' names/ages? Gary DH 64
Which excursions have you booked? Villefranche: Highlights of Monaco, Monte Carlo/Grand Casino.
Marseille: Marseille City Tour.
La Spezia: Portofino and Santa Margherita.
Civitavecchia: private excursion and guide.
Olbia: Costa Smeralda.
Naples: Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri.
Palermo: Erice and Segesta
Barcelona: doing it on our own, pre-cruise.

Which port are you most looking forward to? Palermo and La Spezia
On a scale of 1 - 10, how fanatical are you about Disney? 7

Looking forward to all the excitement and activity on board the Magic too!:cheer2:

Sandy

 Hi All

Another day has slowly passed so we only have 63 days till the Magic begins.

Deborah

I have just heard from DCL and they have confirmed that the chocolate museum excursion in Barcelona has been cancelled :sad2: . They said someone would contact me soon re this!! Never mind we can still do it on our own but I think the only 2 differences are that we will not get to make something out of chocolate and it will be much cheaper which is good thing as the expenses for this trip are mounting daily. Maybe we will see you at the chocolate museum.

Here are the links to 2 other sites :surfweb: that might be interesting/useful the first one is questions and answers for the lucky cruisers crossing the Atlantic and the 2nd one is a daily trip report. Enjoy.

Hi Andrea

Oh dear, that is not good news and I wonder why dcl didn't let you know before you email them? I wonder why it had been cancelled:confused3

Oh well, save your money and go on your own plan with your daughter that what we do. Hopeful, we have times for it!

Yes, I read the report and sound great but not sure about 8-13 feets wave:scared1:

Scottishwee35;)

Just got done reading the tr's and could not believe they were experiencing 8-13ft waves. Poor people I hope the seas calm down and they don't have to rock and roll all the way there. Only 62 more days until we leave. I've been told if I keep informing them of that they are going to superglue my motuh shut. Hey that be a good way to lose weight at least.
Lissa:tinker:

I'm not surprised they have high-seas crossing the Atlantic! I'm just glad I'm not experiencing that rockin' and rollin' :) But I *am* insanely jealous of their experience... 2 weeks on a ship with some neat ports and plenty of Sea Days for rest, relaxation, and entertainment!

I try to work our trip into conversation daily - it's gotten to be a joke among my coworkers (there are only 5 of us in my section) about how will Cindy bring up her trip today! The other day my supervisor sent a msg to us all that the subject line was "All Hands on Deck" because we all needed to do something at the same time. Of course I had to reply that All Hands on Deck is the name of a cheese, cracker and fruit platter you can get from room service on DCL ;)

Okay I am so excited just got off of DCL's website was checking for Palo reservations. Nothing for three :sad2: oh well I'll keep checking. So I decided to check about Shore excursions. WOO-HOOOO!:cool1: the tour we wanted to do in Rome si open they had room for three on the Jumping back into Eternal Rome tour. I am very excited because it was the one tour we really wanted and were disappointed when we did not get it. Just goes to show keep checking and maybe it will show up. Oh they are also now offering pod cast and some other things throough i-tunes. They even had downloads for teens and kids and most was free.
Lissa :woohoo: (doing the happy dance)

Lissa - we're doing the Jumping Back tour in rome, too - glad you were able to get it booked. I imagine that as people are tweaking their schedules that openings will occur for a variety of things. Keep checking back for your Palo times and also know that when you board in Barcelona, you can check then, too, and see what they have available for on-board booking.

We'll be in Barcelona this time 9 weeks from now!
