Hi Everyone,
Quick question, how do you book the excursions. I've saved the ones we want to favorites pluse several back ups just in case. When it comes time to book them do I call or can I do it online? Thanks
Lissa:tinker:

Off Topic: DVC contracts came Friday. WOO-HOOO were official. Doing the happy dance:cool1:

The best way to book is to do it online right away when it opens up. If yours is May 4 for example, get online and be ready to book by 3 am est (2 am cst for us).

www.disneycruise.com is the site, make sure you have a log in - a user name and password. Once logged in you can click on My Disney Cruise and enter your reservation number as well as the birthdate of the main person the room is booked under.

I went into the FAQ and printed out the instructions on booking. Actually, the best thing is to put your selections into your Wish List so when booking time comes it is faster to reserve them one by one as you can sort by Wish List.

I will be on later tonite and will look up the instructions for you if you do not locate them by then. You can call in to reserve as well, but that will be during business hours and some Palo brunches, high tea, etc, as well as some excursions may be full by then.

I just spent some time catching up on reading the posts as I've been MIA lately, and I'm getting so excited! I think I might run out and buy some new sunglasses to feed my mania lol. The only thing I'm a little bummed about is being in dinner during the sail away party. That is usually one of my favorite parts, but I'm assuming Disney will do something for those of us with late seating.

I went out to this tropical restaurant Friday night and ordered a rum runner. All of a sudden I had flashes of sitting by the pool, listening to the exotic music, and relaxing. I must've started swaying for no reason because my friends noticed and laughed. I just blammed it on Disney excitement!!

I keep reading on older threads about personalized t-shirts. THey said they got them through disneyshopping.com. They seem to be able to personalize with 3 lines.. sailing date etc. When I checked out the site you can only personalize with name, number on back and some designs allow for "phrases" already preprinted by disney. ANyone know anything about this? Would love to get t-shirts, although my older boys would probably not be caught dead matching their parents!!

Thanks carol I found the info on the disney Cruise site. Don't know why I didn't see it when I looked there before. Must have over looked it. I have everything ready to go for May 4th excursions are saved to wish list plus several back ups. Can't believe the cruise is almost here.

cIt sounds like May 4th must be the next booking window for shore excursions. My window was April 19th but one of our 1st choices for Rome is either sold out or could they possibly be keeping some spaces available for the May 4th date? :confused3

I am also looking into doing a private excursion in Rome if our 1st choice doesn't become available. Is anybody else booking "private" excursions not thru the cruiseline? If so, I would be interested in talking about it with you or sharing my info with others. Is anybody doing their own thing or excursion in any other ports?

I love the Formal nights and the semi-formal nights, but I am thinking that with the lengthy excursions, that we are not going to be having too many schedule formal nights. That is, unless they have them and if you're on board then you're part of it and if you are still on an excursion than OH WELL!:rolleyes1

What are your thoughts on the subject of Formal Night? It will certainly be interesting to hear feedback from those who go before us. Can't wait :hourglass to hear their feedback on it all.

Carol,
In one of your posts you mentioned High Tea? I did get our reservation for Palo's on July 18th, but when I went in to see if there were any other dinner reservations available (tonight) it looked like Palo's was all sold out. Anyway, I never saw an option for High Tea? Is that under a different tab across the to where it says: shore excursions, Palos' etc?

Of course, not too many days when we'd be on the ship at high tea time anyway :)

Sandy

Hey DisTeach! The sunglasses are a great idea! Have to have something suitable to view the Mediterranean in! Keep on swaying to that music..we Disney addicts totally understand! :cool2:

Sandy, since you are only allowed to book one Palo dinner on the cruise, the other dates will now show as sold out unless you cancel the one you have and then view others that may be available.

I started booking at 2 am on April 19 and by 2:40 am the Palo brunch and High tea were all sold out. They are only available on Sea days..

Sandy,

I'm doing all the ports on my own. In Rome I have a tour guide (througheternity.com). Check out their website. They were recommended through tripadvisor. I will take the train into Rome and meet the guide there. You can email them or phone. They were very helpful and prompt with their response emails. I would be happy to share what I am doing at the other ports. But I must worn: you must be adventurous!!! Just PM me.

:earboy2: Hi Sandy

I requested the formal, semi formal and pirates of the carribean dates from DCL and was told

Formal night is on the first day at sea (19th)
Semi formal night is on the 9th day (26th Villefranche)
Pirates of the Carribean 8th day (25th Marseille)

Hope this helps

Only 86 days to go :cool1:  :dance3:  :cool1:

Hi Sandy (smilis),

I think that you may pick one Palo dinner and one brunch and one tea per room on the boat. They have likely kept some reservations held for the May 4 cruise planners. I also think that there will be a lot of openings as people start to change plans around. High tea is only on sea days, so you could always waitlist if it interests you.

I love formal and semi-formal night! I rent tuxes for my two DS's through cruiseline formal and my DH brings his. The formal nites are always on nights at sea and parallel special shows. It is hard to imagine bringing that stuff to Europe, but we will because it is the best part of the days at sea for me.

We have decided to do Rome on our own. There was no excursion that gave us everything that we wanted. I chose Italybylimousine.com. They were reasonably priced, will pick us up at the Civatevecchia port and drive us there, and responded very promptly to our request. Check them out on the website.

We got our little movie that explains the ports in the mail today! It has my family super-excited! We can't wait!

Hi All

I am sooooooooooo excited I have just upgraded the cabin type from 8 to 6 :cool1:I don't know the cabin number yet at it is just Gty but I thought it would be lovely to have a verandah. I am trying not thinking about the extra $$ it has just cost, but i am sure it will be worth it.

Nzdisneymom, how is the diet going? I am doing very well I have lost 2lbs this week. It is a lovely evening here so I am just on my way out for a long walk. Keep up the good work and remember only 85 days to go :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi Andrea

Ohhhhhhhhh lucky you:cool1: :cool1: upgrade to 6 and have a verandah:sad2:

About two months ago, I was asking DU about upgraded to Cat 6 but the price for 4 of us were :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: That why we got upgraded to Cat 8!! And still gty!

Good for you about stick on your diet:cool1: :cool1:

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

Andrea, that is so cool that you might get upgraded. I should check into that. We booked using points, so I would have to see if they allow us to pay $$ for an upgrade.

Isbel, what kind of excursions are you doing in the different ports? Did you create the itineraries or leave it to the company? I am waiting to hear back from my Rome contact regarding availability and pricing.

Angie, is ItalybyLimousine doing each port of calls excursions or just Rome?

I'm glad you all mentioned about Pirates night pirate: . At least that way I can plan on what to bring for that evening. We have some neat souvenirs from when we did the Member cruise in 2005.

Hope you're all having a sunny day:dance3:

Sandy

We got our DVD that talks about the ports and everything today. Just got done watching it and now my mom and I are more excited then we were :cool1: . I think they send us these things just to get us really excited about the cruise. Of course my mom says if I get any more excited I'm not going to need the plane to get to Barcelona. I'm going to be able to rocket myself there on my own power.
Lissa:tinker:

We have not received the DVD yet here. I am wondering if it is because we booked through DVC on points? Will have to give them a call to check it out.

Hi CarolAnnC

We have not received it well as we are not DVC well. Perhaps I email to DU to find out if we will receive it in UK? :confused3
