July 13, 2008 - Cruisin' the Mexican Riviera

Welcome Aboard mickeyfreak13 and Jenifer! :yay: So glad you joined our thread! It's been much too quiet on here lately! I'm sure discussions will pick up as it gets closer to sailing time!

I just booked our flights and pre-cruise hotel, so now we're all set! Less than 6 months to go! Woohoo! I feel fortunate, though, because I've got a Disney cruise in April to also look forward to! :goodvibes

Lucky you Deb! I wish we were going in April too! We had a DCL House Party last Saturday and the excitement is running through our veins. We think that we may have converted some more of our friends. We have also booked our pre-cruise hotel and are starting to look at excursions. So much to choose from. Has anybody picked anything yet?

we have also booked our pre-cruise hotel.

for excursions we are looking into doing

Cabo Beach Break

and in Mazatlán we are looking into doing the

City Highlights & Mexican Mardi Gras Fiesta

Hi! We are also cruising the Mexican Riveira this week! It will be:

me 37
DH 44
DS 15 (at time of cruise, also autistic)
DS 13 (at time of cruise)
DD 11 (at time of cruise)

This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. Looking forward to driving instead of flying-so much easier for packing! We're looking at doing the scuba dive excursions in Cabo & Puerta Vallarta, but not sure what we're doing in Mazatlaan. This will be my DS13's first time w/the teen group, so not sure what to expect there. There seems to be such an age difference between 13 & 17! My other son has always gone where my daughter goes, so we'll see if they let him this time. It's been so cold and rainy here in CA right now, so I am looking forward to the warmer weather! Only 6 more months! :)

Welcome Aboard, jencav5! :) Thanks for joining our thread!

carole88 - congrats on being one of the House Party hosts! I attempted the DIS Boards' virtual party chat :surfweb: but there were so many people on and "talking" at the same time that not even the fastest speed reader had a chance to keep up! :lmao:

We haven't even had a chance to look at excursions yet. One of the families that we're traveling with has been to Cabo several times, so I'm hoping they will be our tour guides! :cool2:

How is everyone doing? Hope all is well.

I've been for planning my trip to Disney World in March, and I'm getting excited and that's good keep my mind of basketball I get mad if the nets lose and yeah I am a true fan of them. Giants won last night that was awesome, going to nyc tomorrow to shop so that should be fun. Well I'll ttyl

and closer to the cruise hopefully we will all talk about having a dismeet or something would love to meet everyone :goodvibes

Hey,
Hadn't checked the site in a while and thought I would say Hi again. It looks like we will have a lot of teenager DD's on this trip. My DDs will be 14 and 10 by the time we set sail and I know my DD-14 is looking forward to hanging out in the Teen club. If your DDs would like to email before the cruise just send me an email and I will let you know her address.

I am really looking forward to this trip. My DDs have never been to CA before so this will be their first trip out West :flower3: I haven't even started thinking about excursions yet, I need to get on that ASAP!! I won't panic yet but yes my name is Susan and I am a planaholic. I love to plan and probably over plan if you ask my DH. So of course we are planning on spending 2 weeks in CA. The first week we will be visiting various places in CA to include Disneyland :woohoo: and the second week is the cruise. The easy part was planning the first week, the hard part is planning the excursions. They are giving us a huge selection on this cruise. I need my new Passporter!!!! Oh, well, I will just have to wait until the latest one comes out. I hope everyone is having a good week and I will check here more often now that we are getting a little closer.

Susan

I need my new Passporter too! Has anyone checked out the private villa excursions? I wonder how much they are! Hey Susan, any chance of stopping by in Las Vegas? We'd love to have you visit!

How is everyone doing, I just went outside to go to my car and it was pretty cold out, so I'm posting a picture of where I want to be right now for you all to see
I want to be on the top deck

Hi just checking back in....
So today we made our flight arrangements. We are going to Las Vegas first for 4 nites then driving to anaheim on the 8th. Any suggestions for hotel?
I have been reading the posts here and I am thinking it is not worth staying on property.
This is our first trip out to that area. We are hoping to stay in Anaheim and do some LA and San Diego
We have 5 kids( 4 teenage boys and 1 8 yr old girl)

Hi,
Just saw your note on dis boards. We have an 18 year old who will be on the cruise as well. Hopefully your son will go and the boys will meet. Was unsure where the 18 year old go to hang out. They have the teen club and adult clubs, but the boys seem to fall inbetween groups. We also have two other children going. Looking forward to the cruise.

Not sure if we can make it out to Vegas on this trip. Anthony has family in CA and he wants us to spend time visiting them. Also we are going to see Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios so I will have to see how our schedule is and if we have enough time to swing by Vegas  . OK, so maybe I am already over scheduling us and we haven't even started to think about the cruise part of the trip :scared1:.

I also read about the private villas and thought that was neat as well. Can families go in together and rent a villa or is it only big enough for one family? Wasn't sure, I need my Passporter to find out :scared:

Welcome Aboard, Gracie! :goodvibes We're glad you found our meets thread! :)

Your 18yo DS will be glad to know that on the first evening of the cruise DCL has a "College Club Social" for people ages 18-25. Our DD and DS found it a great way to meet peers their age to hang out with during the rest of the cruise! :) Your DS will also be able to go to any of the adult-only areas of the ship for nighttime entertainment, as well as Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay. :thumbsup2

Gracie! - I also forgot to mention that Ocean Quest will occasionally have open times during the day for anyone to go in and enjoy all the video games!
