Are you able to put juice boxes/pouches (Capri Sun) into checked luggage successfully, without them popping due to the pressurization?

We had planned on doing this, but don't want the massive mess if they do explode (although we plan on double ziploc bagging them).

Just a quick question! Thanks!!

:)

I have never packed capri suns, but I have succesfully packed liquor and small juice bottles.
It you have room in your suitcase, pack your capri suns in their (full) cardboard box. I have read the more tightly liquids are packed, the less wiggle room they have, and the less chance of breaking.

I had shelf stable milk in my checked baggage, which I had placed in a zip lock bag. It was fine. I also had frozen Go Gurts and they survived as well!

yep, we have packed juice boxes and shelf-stable milk in both their original cardboard boxes and in the large gallon ziplocs and have had no problems with either packing method. if you go the ziploc route, just be sure that there are no sharp objects packed near the juice boxes or capri suns.:thumbsup2

Yes I have packed capri sun in my checked luggage and I just left it in the cardboard box that it came in and it was fine (no ziplocs). But if you don't have the cardboard box still then something to protect it from being poked by other items in your bag might be a good idea like the others suggested.

I'm sure it would go fine.

But it adds weight to luggage, and Von's down there is the same store as Safeway up here, so you could just make a quick trip to the store for the same items. :)

this is true! i learned this during our first trip last october! i brought way too many juice boxes! i still plan to bring some in may, but just not as many! LOL!

Thank you!

We had planned on bringing 2 boxes of juice for the 3 of us (that will make 20 pouches total). Each box weighs approx. 5 pounds, and Alaska Airlines has a 50lb weight allowance. We each plan on having our 1 carryon as well as 1 checked bag.

I think I can figure it so there is one box each in 2 pieces of luggage.

Last year we just bought drinks at the hotel gift shop and kept them in the refrig. But by bringing it this time, not only will it save us money, but it will also take up a bit of space that can be later used for souveniers.

Thanks again, so much!

:)

We took them last year on our WDW trip...no problems! I am a little paranoid about how they handle luggage, so I double bagged them in 2 gallon ziplock bags. Thankfully, they didn't leak at all.

I don't know if this will work for you, but here's what I did: There were three of us on our trip. I use 2 gallon bags to put together outfits prior to our trip. I was able to get all our outfits plus extra shoes into two suitcases. I chose a small pilot's case for our third bag. I filled it with our food, juice, and powdered milk...and things like plastic cups, bowls, and silverware. By the end of the trip I had an empty suitcases to use for souvenirs and mementos.

It worked really well for us!

Good idea!! I picked out clothes for everyone in the morning last year anyway. (Including DH). It seems like it will be shorts weather while we are at DL too (and shorts don't take up a lot of room in a suitcase!!).

I'd be worried these would break open, I would just take a cab to the Target down the street on Harbor....or take your first day and rent a car, drive to the Target for water & snacks, drive the opposite direction on Harbor to Orangefair Mall and go to the Character Warehouse, you never what you might find there. :)

Von's/Safeway delivers, and if it's the first time you've ordered online for delivery, there is a code for free delivery. We just placed an order to be delivered to our hotel the day we check in.
