Juan says "BAAAA!" - 12/24 - Our last few Disney hours. COMPLETE

Henry was literally dancing around he was so excited. He would take a toy off the shelf, play with it, dance around and pick another. Much shrieking, much excitement, much running around. He also found a plastic claw/shovel type toy, the “claw” was Mickey’s hands,

643601215_6ct3V-M.jpg

that he insisted on having a death grasp on. Not sure I understood the awesomeness of the shovel, but hey, I’m not 2!

Joe and I just hung around, played with him, took turns shopping ourselves and we all tried on some hats that were located near the Cars section.

Rastafari Momma!

I put the Hat on Henry thinking he would rip it off, but nope!

*Note how he now has TWO shovel things...

This boy was FULL of energy that night!!

He woulda worn that hat all night!

I took this pic for Wigd, she was looking for this Mickey...

Joe and I discussed purchasing him one of these many Cars toys for his birthday since his party was just a couple weeks after our trip. (It’s nice to still be able to discuss getting him something without him fully understanding what we are talking about!) There was a car carrier that had a bunch of the cars from the movie that he really, really liked, and kept going back to. We almost purchased it; but then I remembered – we only have carry-ons...where would it fit? :headache:

We found out it would cost $15 to shop home, and after some debate back and forth, we opted not to get it. Instead, we would get him the toddler bed set I had spotted at Target back at home, and we would let him select one cheaper item from the store.

But what to pick? Should we get the beloved shovel? Seriously, what would he do with this thing? Hmmm…

Then I spotted ‘em.

Cars plastic squeeze bath type toys. 5 of the characters in one bag. Can be used for the bath, in the pool, or wherever.

tiggrbaby had mentioned these toys on my PTR, knowing that Henry would love them. SO PERFECT! Thank you!!

Henry was elated when I showed them to him. And so were we. A much wiser, and much cheaper purchase with an equal amount of happiness from the little one.

643615221_RJjPM-M.jpg

I sincerely think this was one of our best toy purchases ever. These Cars get a TON of use every single day.

After our purchase we were ready to head back to CSR. We didn’t even think about going into Goofy’s Candy Company, despite our zillion snack credits with the QSDP! No candy covered pretzel rods. :sad2:

At the bus stop

Raise your hand if you love the fact that there are even themed soda machines in Disney World!

Henry happily played with his new toys

643604208_zFDpH-M.jpg

He insisted on holding ALL of them.

and “Life is a Highway” came on over the speakers shortly before the bus arrived. This is Henry’s song. It’s from the movie Cars when Mack (the truck) is driving across country to California with McQueen in his trailer. After a while the song fades out and the part where Mack falls asleep and McQueen rolls out of his trailer begins. I once reenacted this scene with Henry’s Mack and trailer, and since then, it’s been his song. I can’t even tell you how many times a day I sing it… “Mommy! La la” and that’s my cue...!

Anyway, the song came on and Henry instantly started swaying and dancing in his stroller. Joe and I sang along to Henry’s encouragement. I’m sure we were quite the sight! But who cares? We were all lovin’ it!

Back at the resort, both Joe and I had remembered we decorated the window, so as we got close, we asked Henry, “Which room is ours?” and when we rolled up to it, he pointed and shrieked.

Ya, it was cute. Such a Mommy story. ;)

But, there were a few visitors in our window!

643612123_oeqkL-M.jpg

The Mousekeeper had placed Henry’s toys in the window! He was sooooooo excited about it, so I sent him and Joe in to take pictures of him retrieving his toys.

We thought it was funny the Mousekeeper arranged Henry's blanket so very neatly.

Henry found extreme delight in playing on the beds and whipping the giant round pillows off the bed.

643605644_F5QhC-M.jpg

Which, just made Joe start a pillow fight and “squishing” Henry with the pillow-which sent Henry into a fit of giggles.

Eventually we all winded down and got ready for bed. I think this night Joe and I took the 2 little ottomans from the room out right outside our room while Henry fell asleep. It was the only time we even had to do it, and we probably didn’t even have to that night-he was pooped!

I ended my night doing something I hope to do on every trip-I took pics of that days souvies! Now I don't have to round them up at home for the TR. ;)

No pics of the Cars because Henry was sleeping with all of them. He was also sleeping with Pluto, but I could sneak him out. :goodvibes

And I took some more cold medicine. The cold was still lingering all day long, but was well on it's way OUT the door...

And this ends our first full day!

Up next: This might be the very best way to start a MK day.

Great Job on the scrapbook!

That grass picture was too funny and brought back memories of Aaron's first time on the grass. Kids are too fun! :rotfl2:

Thanks!
Did Aaron have a similar reaction? Little ones just don't like that pointy grass do they? Even today Henry is a bit iffy about it, he still prefers the cement!

What a great, great update. I  it! You are such a cute family and you'll had such g great day!! SO much fun! I can just picture you guys singing at the bus stop-brought a tear to my eye. And soon you will be home with your little guy. Oh as LL would say "warm fuzzies"

Sorry, that I interrupted your TR! We both are night owls! :surfweb:

Oh yes, very much so!

He likes the grass now though! I was trying to teach him how to roll down hills this summer!

Love the new update!! You guys look like you had a blast in DTD! I love the soap bars with the Mickey's in them! How cool! I wanna hear the story about the bucket hat meeting . Sorry, if you told it before, but I think it needs repeating! Wow! Way to notice the pop machines, it took me a while to realize that the picture on the machine is of DTD. Those pictures of Henry retrieving his toys from the window are too precious! What a great idea!

loved the update. the pictures of Henry with the hat and hand shovels are just so cute. and how cute are the bars of soap!!!

What a fun update, Brook!

First of all, my hand is raised -- I always think it is so cool that Disney themes the coke machines -- I even took a picture of one at CBR! :rotfl:

Your food at WPE looks sooo good. I love that even Pluto was eyeing the chocolate brownie. :lmao:

What a nice way to spend the evening -- shopping and watching Henry enjoy himself -- his little smile and excitement are so precious! :lovestruc

I really like the new rooms at CSR -- I wonder if they are all like that or just the ones in the Casitas section...

LOVE THIS TOO!!! Such a sweet story. That Henry is such a cutie pie, I just wanna eat 'em up! Where did you get those window cling-on thingies?

~bree~

We love to spend time in Once Upon a Toy!

We brought Woody Mickey home with us a couple of trips ago. He is so cute.

Brooklynn and Bella each have a set of the rubber toys like Henry's Cars set. They're great all-purpose toys - inexpensive, unbreakable, quiet, chewable...

Henry is funny dancing around with his braids and claws!

Count me in as one who loves that the drink machines are themed. ::yes::

A pillow fight at the end of the day for a two year old boy - perfect! :thumbsup2

Great update! I'm looking forward to some Downtown Disney time in about a week.

LOVE the pics! But I think I posted the pics of the squeaky Cars! I remembered how much my boys loved the 7 dwarves that they had at that age and thought that would be perfect for Henry.

Loved the update Brook!! Wow!! Henry is such a handsome little guy and boy does he look like he was really in the Disney spirit, he has such a great smile on his face!!!!

Your evening at DTD sounds perfect for you guys!! You know me and my love for creme brulee so you can't go wrong there!! WPE is one of the places I would love to try sometime, I did eat at WPC and it was AMAZING!!!!

Awww...those toys are so cute! I'm sure Henry does play with them all of the time!!! Great purchase!!!

I love your idea of taking the souvie pictures at the end of each night, I will definitely have to try that on my next trip, that makes so much more sense!!!!

I :lovestruc the themed soda machines! I think everywhere should have those, they would make real life so much better.

I have never even THOUGHT about taking pictures of the souvenirs at the end of the day. D'oh! What a fabulous idea. I am stealing that for January for sure! :thumbsup2

What a great update! I had a grin on my face the whole time reading it. That sandwich at WPE looked YUMMY - I may have to put that on my "must try" list. :thumbsup2

I can't believe you guys got SNOW last night!! :scared1:

It snowed here too!! LOTS!!! It looks so sad - leaves still on trees, fall flowers still blooming, and then....SNOW!! I know that people think that Canada is a winterland but really, this is not the norm.
Loving your TR again- makes me forget about what is outside. :goodvibes

Wow Brook....

That is one major, fantastic update. there is too much to comment on, but here's a few....

1. Your sandwich looks amazing. I want that NOW!

2. Cool pluto stuffed toy!

3. Cute cars toys

4. Henry finding your exact room and claiming his possession - priceless.

5. I can't believe Henry prefered the dreads (braids) over the car ears. Go figure. :confused3

6. Cute soaps. I need to stop there next trip. Must have soap from the basin.

7. Creme brulee and the Hallelujah chorus - very funny. :rotfl2:

8. Snow?????? What the ..........?

What a fun evening!! We love DTD and just hanging out, looking at all the stuff is so fun for us.

We have never had WPE but it always looks so good. Have you used your Mickey soap yet?

It snowed here last night!!!

:sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:

Thank you! It really was a very nice evening. We were relaxed and enjoying, and laughing a lot that night. No rushing, no tempter tantrums ;), good food, good Cars.

I'm so looking forward to being done with work. I'll miss my co-workers, but I'll just have to make it a point to stay in contact with them and visit them every once in a while!

Sorry, that I interrupted your TR! We both are night owls! :surfweb:

Oh yes, very much so!

He likes the grass now though! I was trying to teach him how to roll down hills this summer!

 No worries! I have been a night owl lately, and it's NOT good. I function much better, and get a lot more done, if I go to bed early and wake up early. I was good on that routine for about a month, but since WDW...:sad2:

The bucket hat meeting....ah, if I tell that, I gotta share it all! Here we go....it's a long one....

We actually met over 10 years ago. We were both at a big Christian music festival they have here in Minnesota, I was there with some friends and my boyfriend of the time, Matt. Matt and I were very serious-marriage was often talked about.

So, I was hanging around, and a friend of a friend introduced me to a bunch of people-Joe was one of them. I remember exactly what he was wearing. As soon as I saw him, I'm sure I blushed. It was like the "dream guy" in my head stepped out and was in front of me. And I felt horribly guilty for being so ga-ga over this stranger when I was so serious with Matt! But, I couldn't help it. Our meeting was very brief, maybe a couple words exchanged and that was it. I secretly hoped I would run into him again, but I never did.

Fast forward to about 6 months later. Matt and I had broken up. Not having ANYTHING to do with Joe-I had forgotten about Joe at that point. I'm so grateful Matt and I broke up-looking back, that relationship was a wreck. Anyway, I'm at a concert, and I'm helping a friend work at it, we are there to tear down the set after the show. We are getting instructions from the head roadie dude, and in walks Joe. I recognize him instantly. He is there to help tear down the set as well! How convenient! ;) Turns out, my roommate of the time-Kristina-her boyfriend (now husband), Brian, is best friends and roommates with Joe!!

Joe and I somehow :rolleyes1 end of working together while tearing down the set and hit it off right away. We have a ton in common and have a similar sense of humor. We talk all night long, and even after the work is done, we end up hanging out. (for a bit more weirdness, the concert was held in the wee little town we live in now-at that point, I had only been to this town maybe twice!).

A few months go by and Joe and I keep in touch over the phone and email - then we start dating. Problem is, I'm very busy in my Junior year in college, he lives 30 miles away and cannot drive. So, I'm driving to his place on the weekends, trying to keep up with life on campus and my studies.

Ya---didn't work so well. I was exhausted and tired, and I just couldn't do the relationship, which was getting very serious, very quickly. I was scared and very much not ready to commit at that point in my life.

So, I broke up with him-and broke his heart. :sad1:

Years and years go by, about 7 or 8. I am single all this time except one other very short relationship. I always say Joe was my best boyfriend ever. We talk very very occasionally over email, no hard feelings after all these years.

I'm living in NYC. I have a close knit group of friends and it's a CRAZY long story, but 2 of them were in a very unhealthy relationship. It was not good. But it made me stop, and look at my life and relationships, think about what I wanted, think about marriage etc. I was very happy being a single gal, but I knew I wanted love at some point.

During all this self-reflection time I realized something....I was still in love with Joe. After all these years.

The night I realized that, I cried myself to sleep. :sad1: The next day, I emailed him in hopes we could at least be friends again. No way did I ever expect him to give a care about me after all this!

TEN days later (the longest ten days of my life!) he emails me back. A very short, 2-3 sentence email with no depth.

Sigh.

I email him back. 2 weeks later, he replies. Another short email. :sad1:

A few emails back and forth, and a few did have some depth, but nothing really that I was hoping for -when suddenly, the chat program Google Talk came out. Google Talk is a chat program that instantly loaded in my email (gmail from Google), and it did in Joe's too since we both had gmail email account. I worked at a very, very boring job with somedays not having hardly anything to do, so I started to talk to him. He was busy with work, but would chat when he could. And over the next few months our friendship grew.

April of that year came, and I was going home to visit my family for Easter. Joe and a couple of his friends picked me up from the airport. It was so weird, yet so good to see him again.

After that, things moved REALLY quickly. We began a long distance relationship. He came out to visit me in June - and proposed to me in my apartment!

He was back in July, and then I moved to Minnesota-the town he lived in, the same town we now live in together, in August. Our wedding was in October! So, basically, in January of that year-we were barely talking - and by October we were married, and by December we were pregnant!

Quite the roller coaster, and not at ALL what I expected it would go like. But, I wouldn't change it one bit! :lovestruc

loved the update. the pictures of Henry with the hat and hand shovels are just so cute. and how cute are the bars of soap!!!

Thank you! He was a wild man with those shovels, it was so funny!

Aren't those soaps so fun? I haven't opened them yet, I'm waiting until after our December trip when it will be a long haul before our next WDW trip and I'll need a little Disney fix. :goodvibes

What a fun update, Brook!

Oooh-I look forward to seeing the ones at CBR! I gotta get back over to your TR and see if you've updated. I'm really looking forward to reading about your adventures.

All the rooms at CSR are like that now, when we were there, they were working on the last 2 buildings and if I remember correctly, those should be done this month sometime. They are really beautiful. I LOVE that the bed spread was soft and not those icky stiff hotel covers.

Yes I love that there are even themed soda machines in DW! You can literally forget there is a "real world" off Disney property.

~bree~

I OFTEN forget there is a real world outside of Disney. Between the transportation, the restaurants, etc. you've got all you need right there in your own little world, complete with theme music. :thumbsup2 (and I'm sure that is their EXACT intent!)

Two weeks!!! :yay::yay: I hope they go by VERY quickly for you!!!

The window clings are from the Dollar Tree. A buck! :thumbsup2 I was just in there the other day, but didn't look at Disney stuff, so I'm not sure they still have 'em...but ya never know!
