Journey back to ME!!- I'm getting bugged!!

Did my 7 min abs earlier. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do WATP 5. Not sure.

Leaving shortly w/ DD to exchange her knee brace for different size and take her choir dress to be dry cleaned.

Other than that it's Ebay & clean house.

Thanks, Scott! I can honestly say it's 2 p.m. in NM and you're the 1st and only person who has mentioned MD to me today!

:sunny:

Last night at dinner DH announced to DD that today was Mother's Day and he suppposed " that we'll have to take mom out to eat or something". He then proceeded to ask me what I wanted to do. I told him I preferred breakfast, plus it is likely the least crowded time - if he can get the crew up at a decent hour.

So, Mia gets up at 5:30 a.m. & DH announces that I need to get her out quickly as she's bothering him & he wants to sleep, I potty she & Max & then keep them quiet so everyone else can sleep in. 9:00 DS16 friend from work calls MY cell phone (which I made the mistake of leaving in w/ DH) to let DS16 know she has his phone which he left outside of work last night. DS16 is now up and DH is up & grumbling. At almost 10 he tells DS16 that I don't want to do anything for Mother's day. DS16 is HUNGRY and says we should go out. DS16 proceeds to go wake DD (by squirting her with a squirt gun - get the picture of what kind of day this is?), and knocks on DS19's door.

DD comes up about 10:30 and asks DH where we're going for Mother's day & he reiterates that I don't want to do anything. DD proceeds to come SCREAM at me. I tell her that's not true, I told them last night I'd prefer to go to breakfast, and DH comes in and tells her that I 'refuse to plan the day for the family, so we can't do anything'. Sorry, I do the planning for everything all year long, I said breakfast, figure it out.

So, DD showers, I shower & DH finally gets DS19 up. It's now almost 11:30. We finally leave home at almost noon - so much for breakfast..... DH pulls into a mexican restaurant with a 2.5 hour + wait. NOT. We then drive around until almost 12:45, end up at another Mexican restaurant that has a 45 min wait. DS19 pitches a fit that this is ridiculous, just another way for businesses to make money on a 'ficticious' holiday and sits in the hot van for 45 min. Comes in , we finally get a table and he announces he's not hungry, just wants a coke. The rest of us get buffet, but they SERVE you and poor DS16 gets 1 small 1 egg omelet and 1 enchilada + salad. Tries to go back again and again gets 1. Took half an hour to get thru the line once. Meantime, DS19 has had 3 cokes and eaten terrible grease ball chips & very hot salsa. We are finally eating and he's LOUDLY moaning, groaning, coughing, etc. and feels like he's going to throw up. Wonderful.....DS16 wants more food, but we have to leave. DS19 is very foul mouthed and loud throughout. And, we're sitting at what should really be a 2 person table w/ 5 of us. So, home we go.....

Not ONE of them mentioned 'happy Mother's day', I'm not into gifts, but mentioning it would be nice. Both boys make good money and could have gotten a card. I told them before we left I would have settled for a cup of Starbucks in lieu of going anywhere.

So, I've been depressed all day. I can do 24/7/365, and this is how I'm treated by ALL of them, even DH, 24/7/365. Of course, DS19 was miraculously much better when we got home and oh, by the way, mom, I have a potluck at work in the morning and I need sausage for 25 people - cooked and ready to go by 6:45 a.m.

Amazingly enough, I get to repeat this with DH in 8 days for our 24th anniversary and again in July for my Birthday.

I'm seriously contemplating that all ME 'occasions' except Christmas I should get myself a hotel room and just stay away until the occasion is over. Maybe then I won't get so hurt & depressed each year.

I always call all 3 of my brothers once a month & my 1 sister once/month and on mother's day. My FL sister I call more frequently. NONE of them ever call me. I decided today I wasn't calling either Dsis and neither called. Oh well....
Family....who needs them!

To top it all off, we had a bad 'blow'(40 - 65 mph winds in dry thunderstorms) last week and EVERYTHING is covered in 1/8 - 1/4 inch of SAND. So, I spent about 3 hours this morning cleaning my kitchen and another 'blow' came in late this afternoon and you can't tell I removed any sand at all. I HATE NEW MEXICO spring weather!!!

Tomorrow has GOT to be a better day, but I'm not betting on it. DD has to be at the bus at 6:50, DS16 has to be at work - 6 mi/each way - at 6:45 and it's supposed to rain/blow so he probably can't ride the cycle. I have to cook @#$%! sausage for 25 and have DS19 at work 8 miles in the opposite direction of DS16 by 7:15. Then I get to repeat it all the other direction between 2:45 and 4, then drive DD to DH for fencing about 10 mi each way.
UGH!!!!! And, if I don't start getting more than 6 hours sleep/night, I'm likely to strangle someone- or several someones!!

Hi Julie,

I am so sorry that Mother's Day didn't go the way that it should have :grouphug: Today is a new day and will be better... I know that does not help now, but hang in there!

Congrats on the loss...that is wonderful!!!

Have a great day and keep up the grat work!

 Julie,

I am so sorry to hear about your Mother's Day. I hope that the week ahead gets much better for you. ::yes::

You are a wonderful and amazing person, Julie. You do so much for the people around you. :goodvibes I think you should consider doing something absolutely special just for you. You deserve some pampering! ::yes::

Sending prayers and pixiedust: to you from Ohio! Keep on keeping on, Julie! :cheer2:

Thanks Jamie & Tracy!

Today has been exhausting.

I had to do some returns to the thrift store, so went there after the morning runs and spent way too much time. Did a LOT of walking there today plus running errands - about 4 hours, but I'll count 30 min.

Spent most of the rest of the day in the car shuttling 3 kids.

DH finally had DS19s car towed in this morning. I think he finally woke up when I told him he would be cancelling his work 'symposium' if DS19's car wasn't running and staying home to drive him. It hasn't run since Sept, ad it's NOT the timing belt as DS19's friend suspected. The engine is seized up. Now the decision is how much to spend looking for the problem in the engine before making the decision to a) junk the car & get a different used car or b) buy an engine from a wreck and put in. Of course, this is going on my credit card as DS19 has ruined his credit and can't support himself. He'll have to make the payments on the card (yeah, right! - I'll believe it when I see it, DH) I'm stepping out of the loop on this one. Don't even get me started on the kid who still owes almost 5k on the junk car + about 7K borrowed over the past 16 months.

DD has 4 days of school + finals left and is VERY grouchy. She's definitely feeling 14.5!

Still plugging away at DS16 school. Hopefully he will have History & English finished before June 5. Then just a small bit of Chemistry left, which he loves and it should go quickly.

Tomorrow I WILL go to the gym. DS16 is off, so I may make him come with me.

Julie, that stinks plain and simple about Mother's Day. Your family should be ashamed since you do so much for them. Unfortunately, there were a lot of moms yesterday experiencing just what you did, women give a lot and don't always get back what they should! Hang in there and make sure when Father's Day rolls around you make the same effort! It sounds like you are doing great with your food and exercise which is actually the best Mother's Day present anyone can give you. Being healthy is the best gift of all right? Take care of YOU!!!!

Amy

Another busy morning - DS16 didn't work, but had to take DD to the school as she had her freshly drycleaned choir dress to return and it wasn't going on the bus! Also had to get DS19 to work at the same time....what fun!!

Made it to they gym, finally. Didn't really want to, though, as I was tired and since I'm not seeing weight loss or inches, it's frustrating, but I went.

Bad news today is that DS19's engine is really shot & can't be rebuilt. So it's either a new engine - $5100+ (and he still owes us almost $4600 for the car), find a wrecked engine that works, have it towed somewhere else to put it in, or junk the car & buy a new one - but he has no credit/money. UGH!!!!!

I'm slowly making progress on the clothing mountain in my living room. Managed to do some Ebay tonight.

I want to take my Dsis to a spa in the Olrando area while I'm there - she was 55 yesterday & has never had a pedicure -doesn't know what she's missing!! But I'm not sure where to go. My spa here is so nice I'm kind of spoiled. That's my trip planning item for this week. I want to use one that will take SpaFinder gift certificates - why?? #1 - I can get them at a 20% discount at Costco & #2. If I've already paid for it, she won't make up a reason we can't go!!

Off to bed, I'm exhausted!!

Julie - Sorry to hear about the Mother's Day. Just realize that your family still loves you, even though it may seem like they don't show it all of the time. You do such a great job just keeping on top of everything that you should hold your head high. Keep your chin up and have a good week!!

Thanks, Scott & Amy! I'm working on the chin up!

Today was NOT as planned, but was basically good.

Dropped DD at school - she missed the bus. Ran to Sam's & to get a latte as this is liquid day. On the way home heard a commercial that today started open subscription ticket sales for the Broadway series a UNM. And, Phantom is coming - much cheaper than taking DD to NYC.

So, I spent the next 2 hours trying to figure out how to order as I couldn't get the website to work. Ended up driving down - 40 min each way, and even then, the box office didn't have the forms yet. So, the guy finally printed me a set off their computer.

You had to buy a 3 event subscription, then could buy 'add-on' events. So, I ended up getting tickets to Phantom, Movin' Out, Jesus Christ Superstar - 3 of each in case DH wants to come or DD wants to bring a friend. Then I added on 2 tickets to Mama Mia, and 2 tickets to Sleeping Beauty Ballet (I'm going to take a friend as she NEVER gets to do anything - her DH is even worse than mine - and it's 2 days after her Birthday). Yes, I spent a bundle, but I figure I got all of these for less than a third of what it would have cost for DD and I to go to NYC and just see Phantom.

I was excited. Told DD when she got home from school and she was mildly disappointed as she really thought I'd drop several K to take her to NYC for her 15th bday. Is she SPOILED or WHAT?????

Now, I can save my Amtrak points and go to Disneyland - maybe even ALONE since no one in my family is into Disney.

So on to today. Liquid day. I usually buy either a berry berry good (raspberry, ff froz yogurt, blueberries, strawberries), or a Lime me (raspberries, lime sherbert, blueberries) both of which are 5 pts. Last week they had a nutrition guide and there's another that's 5 pts. Mello Mango. I tried it today and I think I have a new Fav! Mango, passion fruit, peaches, strawberries w/ pineapple sherbert.

Tonight DD has choir singing at a memorial service for the district fine arts head who passed away with an aneurysm. Tomorrow night is the choir pot luck banquet. I cheated & bought chicken alfredo at Sam's today. Friday is a fencing tourney.

Tonight I need to do some Ebay & hopefully visit some journals.

Tomorrow & Friday I have to help DS16 submit all the school he's been doing.

Off to get something done (I'd rather nap!!)

Didn't make WI today. DD had a school ID crisis and I had to come to the rescue or she would have gotten In School Suspension for not having it, which would have meant she missed the writing half of her Humanities final and couldn't make it up. UGH!!!

So, I'm doubtful I can make it tomorrow or Saturday morning as both meetings are packed and it's typically an hour wait for WI unless you get in line an hour before they open - they REALLY need to open more meetings. Who knows, I may get brave.

Tonight is choir potluck - she doesn't want DH to go - says he doesn't know how to have fun and would not appreciate the DJ/Dancing - too true. I'd rather not go alone, but may have to suck it up. Hopefully I can sit and drink lots of water!!

Food Journal day 18 -

Mailed Ebay and came home & took a nap! It was WONDERFUL!!! So, I have a lot of catching up to do tonight & tomorrow, but worth it!

Friday at last!! Or is it Friday again already?? Time seems to really be flying, but the weight certainly isn't!!

Didn't make WI this morning - doubtful for tomorrow, so I guess I"ll just resign myself to having missed this week. Oh well....I'm stayin OP and that's what matters.

Did ok last night at the potluck. I stayed w/in points for the day, but was bored out of my mind and stood for 3 hours! Looking around I was amazed that I was smaller than the majority of the 8/9th grade girls, and almost all of the parents. That's really sad, but NM is one of the most obese states and has one of the highest diabetes rates in the country. I wonder why????? Too much mexican & indian food/grease/fat & overeating. I watched one dad go to the hallway where the food tables were(after the DJ started & people were through eating) and he sat on the bench and literally slid down from dish to dish, eating at each before moving on, loading his plate at each one and shoveling it in as fast as he could - This was for about 24' of cafeteria tables. And no, it wasn't a poor, hungry person, I am acquainted w/ this family and they are pretty well off. His son was watching and I thought what an example. Both the kids(DD in choir) are fairly thin, but mom & dad are quite large.

Today is catch up day, go to gym is a must, DH took the van so he is taking DD to fencing tonight - I just have to run her to him.

Have to do mega school w/ DS16 this weekend. Mainly it's making sure he followed directions/format & helping submit it all. Hopefully after June 1 he'll only have Chem to finish & that will go fast.

There are neighborhood garage sales near me tomorrow morning, so DD and I will likely go. Other than that weekend is cleaning house & getting ready for my garage sale in 3 weeks.

DS19 car is on the mend. Buying an engine from a company in CA, had it towed from 1 garage to an engine rebuilder shop that will install the used engine. It will be down to the wire for FL, tho. 2 - 3 weeks to get the engine here, 1 - 3 weeks to install. We leave in 47 days. But total will cost less than half the new cost. Someday he may actually realize all we've helped out & appreciate it.....but probably not!!

Food Journal day 19 -

64 oz cf tea, 32 oz water + more water before bed - 6:40 p.m. and it's still 88 out. I'll be drinking lots more!

7 min abs, 20 min stairs, 30 min bike, 55 min weights

So far this month I've done 3400 crunches(my 7 min abs tape) - wouldn't you think I'd start to see SOMETHING change???? I'm getting very frustrated about this as my scale just doesn't want to move. One thing that is beginning to sink in though is the fact that I can gain 10 lbs/week if I dont' watch what I eat, but the same 10 pounds could take 3+ MONTHS to lose, even with all the exercise I'm doing and staying meticulously OP. Maybe it's the lesson I'm supposed to learn. Doesn't make it any less frustrating at present, but.....

Off to get things done & hit the gym.

Hi Julie,

That is so exciting that you were able to get all the tickets to see those shows....I am sure that you spent less than taking DD to NYC. One good way for her to look at it, is that at least she may be able to take a friend now. If you were to go to NYC she probably wouldn't be able to take anyone!

Sorry to hear that DS car is not working...but good news that you found someone to help replace the engine....That is great!!!

You are doing a great job...don't worry about not making it to WI...you'll make it next time.

Keep up the good work and have a great weekend!

Well, DD and I went to the Garage Sales this morning. It was AWFUL! Last year this neighborhood had about 65 sales. Today 21, and over half were 65+ men with 1-2 things in their drive. We only stopped at 2. Then home so she could get her knee brace. Went to the mall to return my swimsuit pieces. Penny's was the only place open, which is where I needed to go, but then we walked the mall for 45 min waiting for it to open. Walked another 45 min after stores opened. Then to Walmart, grocery & home.

Of course, we get home, unload, and she realizes she has no summer shorts pjs, and it's over 90 in my house. DH says he doesn't get our swamp cooler running until mid-June (remember when he didn't turn the heat on in the fall??!!)

So, we'll leave here soon to go try to find her some boxer type knit pj pants.

I still need to go to 1 more grocery, but I'm taking a quick break & having cantalope & ff cottage cheese. We had coffee for breakfast early, then subway in walmart around 11 and I was HUNGRY.

More later & hopefully visit journals!!

Today is catch up day. Hopefully will get out to look at laptops. Ours is getting bad & DS16 uses it hours daily for his school.

I am SO tired, still. I'm a sleep at night person and DH is always up w/ tv & lights in our room til 11, then DS16 came in at 11:20, Party at house across the back street woke Dogs up at 1 & they wanted out, Party again woke us up at 2:30, then Dogs were up at 5:45 - already getting daylight & I couldn't get back to sleep. This has been the typical night for almost 3 weeks and I'm running on empty. DH just doesn't get it as he naps a couple hours after work each day, yesterday when DD and I left at 8:30, he slept til 2, then napped again for a couple of hours last evening. I just can't keep going on 5 hours of interrupted sleep a night. But, if I try to go to sleep early when he has tv lights on, he simply turns the volume UP. Nice, huh???

Maybe going out to eat tonight for our Anniversary tomorrow. If we wait til tomorrow, DD won't be able to go to fencing. DH mentioned it yesterday morning, but hasn't said anything since.

Off to start getting busy....

This morning I went to Thrift store to do returns. Back just after DD got home from her first 2 finals. Didn't have to take the choir final due to her performance at solo contest. Algebra she got 102% - You GO GIRL!!!

DS19 decided to come home at 4:30 a.m. and amazingly didn't feel well when we got him up for work. DUH!!!! Said he'd go in when I left for store at 8, didn't. Said he would get a ride between 9:30/10. I got home at 11:30 and almost drug him out the door. Wanted me to take him to the Dr. to get a note- NOT!!! Stupid kids!!

Off to get something done...Later.....

Hi Julie~

Sending you some :wizard: for your busy schedule. How are you doing? :grouphug:

Have a wonderful Wednesday! :sunny:

Today flew by. Took DD to school. Made DH take DS19 to work - I didn't want to deal with him. Did 7 min abs, then DS16 and I went to WalMart & Best Buy to get a bluetooth thing for the new laptop. I ran to get coffee while he went to chick fil a (WHY doesn't he get tired of their food? He eats there every day) for a shake & a sandwich.

By the time we got home, DD was about to walk in. Did some picking up, took DD to a friends to spend the night, ran to Albertson's. Home to unload, quickly do WATP 5mile, pick up DS19, back to Best buy to get a different 'thing', home to get dinner, to another grocery to get milk as it goes off sale tomorrow(they were out), got some ice cream I could eat, home to do ebay which I just finished at 10:20. Tired I am!

Now for my Circuit City story -

After dinner we took both cars to Circuit City to buy the new laptop. DH parks on the opposite side of the lot and is inside before I close my door, but I was in front. I walk in and he's standing at the table w/ the CC applications waiting for me to pick it up(I wanted the 18 mo no interest financing - why part w/ cash before you have to??) I told him he has to sign as he is the employed. So, he sits on a couch by the TVs and tells me to bring him one. He starts filling it out & a guy comes over & says he can do it on Computer. DH tells me to go do it. Nope, you're the employed one. So, we both walk to the computer and everytime the kid asks DH a question he pokes me wanting me to answer - he doesn't want to have to talk to the kid. (This is leading up to what I told the girl) Finally done kid tries to hand the copy to DH to take to Cust. Svc and DH puts his hands in his pockets - won't take it. So, I take it and force DH to do it. Meanwhile, I go find a girl(young college) in computers to get what we need.

She gathers printer(big box), laptop(not a small box), and the SD Cards for DS16 and takes them to her register. DH tags along. Girl rings up, DH actually signed (it was on a keypad thing) and she says just one more to print and you can take these home. At that DH walks off. Girl gets wide eyed and asks "Why isn't he staying here to help you carry these? Where's he going? Well, I guess I can help you out". My instantaneous reaponse- totally not even though about - is "Don't ever marry an engineer if you want a man with a personality. But, they do make decent money" No, I can't believe I said that, and she started laughing so hard she was crying! DH was already in the Van, buckled, listening to the radio, while we loaded. TOO funny! WAY too engineer-ish!

So, with that I'm off to bed. One of these days I"ll get to journals.

Tomorrow is bills, pick DD up, Clean more, MUST GO TO GYM, Ebay.

I'm not sure how the gym is going to go now that DD is home. She's really not happy when I want to leave her home alone. Get OVER it! You're 14 1/2!!

Julie - Hang in there kiddo! Every day is certainly an adventure for you...and thanks for the Circuit City story, made me laugh....I work with a bunch of engineers but we would have carried your stuff out for you :)

Have a good day!
