Joshua Tree/Palm Springs

Spending a few days hiking Joshua Tree this fall before we hit Anaheim. Any recommendations for good (but not prententious) dining in the Palm Springs area?

Not in Palm Springs proper, but we enjoyed La Quinta Cliffhouse (a lot) when staying at La Quinta Resort. Had reservations to go again last August but were having too much fun at the pool and decided to just eat at Morgan's onsite that night. Wish we would have gone out
