Josh and Anna Duggar Had their baby!

Uhm, more physical than emotional and mental.

I think that if it became a real danger, TLC wouldn't be filming it. I don't think they would make a show out of something that could possibly be putting babies in any danger.

Anytime you have a child, you are taking the chance of austism, miscarriages, or any kind of problems. I don't know anything about if the risj of those or higher with the number of children you have though ?

How are they having a serious lack of a proper education ? They're homeschooled. I think they're having a better chance of a proper education then they would in the school.

I do think they should quit having children. It's ridiculous to have that many kids. But I was jist saying, I can't do anything about that. I can't go in and tell them to quit having sex, or tell them to pay their taxes, so I'm not gonna sit here freaking out about the Duggars.

Yeah right. TLC is just like any other media company - they will do ANYTHING to make a few bucks and put a name out there. As long as the person being filmed is willing, they'll do anything. TLC broadcasts a lot of shows that feature filmees (is that a word) and filmers being in danger. TLC is not as good a company as you seem to think. Look at John and Kate. You can't tell me that isn't a destructive thing to be filming at this point in time, but how many of you look forward to 8/9pm each Monday to watch a new episode?

Secondly, you are very mistaken to be implying that homeschooling is any way more "proper" than any school setting outside the home. School is school - whether you're at a public, home, or private school we all get the same core education. Also, the Duggar kids aren't allowed to go to college. Maybe the boys if they could pay for it, but certainly not the girls.

I'm not sure about their specific homeschooling, but I know that a lot of radical religious people who homeschool focus on religion and disregard science and math.

Actually, school isn't school whether you're learning at home or at a public school.

Being home schooled, I know for a FACT I'm learning more than the kids around here that are taking classes at the local schools.

Being taught by my mom, someone I know that WANTS me to learn. I get to learn what I want, at the pace I want, and when I want. I'm not learning whatever is on the curriculum.

We might get the same 'core' education. But I know that I'm learning more than I would have in school, and that's best for me.

Now, I don't know your exact home school program, But being home schooled myself, I can say that it I don't think I'm learning more exactly, but I'm learning it before I would in a public/private school. I can also spend more time looking something up to learn more about. Like I said, I don't know how you do home school but this is just how I do it.

and not to you know, generalize or anything, but people who generally believe that a miscarriage is punishment from god also probably don't "believe" in things like autism or down syndrome, kwim?
That is true. But I feel as though their pushing their luck with healthy kids. I hate to say it, but its only time before one has a degree of disability. She is 43 years old! I betcha she'll have 1 more after this one. 20 kids! :scared1:

With 18 kids or how ever many.. when do they have time for this much sex ?
That is what I want to know! Probably during the little kid naps or at night. You would think with that many children you would be totally exhausted!

well, i've been homeschooled, and i've been public schooled, and i'm in college. homeschool is fine and dandy and all that, but its not appropriate in every case, particularly one so bias as the duggars. clearly, with their attitude towards education (that women don't deserve one) you cannot tell me that they are getting a good education compared to what the state government will provide them with.

they don't raise the children. she raises the baby for the first six months, and then passes it on to an older child, once it stops breast feeding. then the children raise each other. they call it a "buddy system" but all it really does is free up time to make more babies.

I take honors courses and I go to vo-tech, I know I'm learning more than most kids - how does that mean school outside the home setting is bad? You advance in whichever setting you're in. Your environment shouldn't effect your attention, unless you're special needs which 95% of us aren't. It may work for you, but judging by the numbers of homeschooled kids versus schooled outside the home kids, it doesn't work for many of us.

THEY DON'T TAKE CARE OF THE KIDS! Sorry, but no one sees that and it annoys me to all get out. They have buddies, their older siblings take care of them while Mom and Dad are off shacking up in their room.

Thats true, they don't do they.

I think they believe in Quiverfull or something...and doesn't 19 kids fulfill that?

And boy, michelle may regret on raising the kids herself. I would think as a parent you would want to get to know your child intimately and know all about them. But with 18 thats impossible. Its sad really.

Exactly. I feel bad for those girls.
