Does anyone have a reviews of the Joovy Strollers? I went to babies r us with my 5 year old and 2 year old yesterday. We checked out the Maclarens, Peg, and Joovy. My daughters vote is for the Joovy. We go to Disney in Dec and I was told a stroller is a must from a previous thread I started.

Are you talking about the sit and stand?

If so, I have it (4 & going to be 2)

We were also up in arms about taking it b/c of how heavy it really is.

We are going 11/30-12/6 and I think we are just going to go out and buy two Jeep Strollers and take them. Only b/c of the actual size and weight of the Joovy.

I did not see that one in Babies R Us but I have seen it on the web. We have a sit and stand stroller from Baby Trend and I hate it. We took it last year and it was a pain to close. I saw the Joovy Kooper and my daughter said thats the one........I think it is bc she fit very well in it. I am not sure what to do. We have the Jeep umbrella stroller and it is ok. Ours does not have any type of basket underneath which I believe to come in handy in DW.

I have a sit-n-stand as well but I think ours is the ultra-light or something. We took ours last year with an almost 3yo and a 10mo. Worked great. Used it more like a luggage cart in airports since we had the car seat along for the 10mo. Ours had a basket underneath but it's not terribly big or accessible if the 3yo was riding along. We used a backpack that we hung of the handle. My only 'con' is that the seat does not recline back very far for naps. Ours folds up relatively easy and I love the manueverability of it. Does your 2yo fit in it? My DD is now almost 2 and I've noticed she is starting to look cramped in there. She is tall and now enjoys putting her feet on the wheels. With a 5yo and 2yo, I'm not sure how much use you will get out of it.

My 2 year old son is pretty big for his age. I am not sure if he still fits in our sit-n-stand stroller. We have not used it since our last trip to Disney last Aug. My 5 year old daughter when she was younger was not one for strollers and my 2 year likes to walk instead of ride in carts and stuff. But with how much walking is done at DW I was told to bring the stroller bc I will use it. When we went to Babies r us my daughter was all about the stroller..........funny how that works.

We just purchased a Joovy Groove 2 and a Joovy Groove, the Groove is much bigger, the seats are wider and it comes with an extra canopy, seat cover...etc. It's nice. The Joovy Groove 2 (double) is also nice, but it'll probably only last us another year because both our boys are almost at the max weight per seat, so we'll have to move one of them to the regular single Groove and then get another Groove for the other one, and by then our youngest dd will be old enough to walk :). The canopies are large on these, and they push pretty smooth...just kind of hard getting started if the wheels aren't straight. They don't feel like they are going to break or anything though, and we have a 38 pounder on one side and a 30 pounder on the other LOL We've been through a lot of strollers in the past year. A Baby jogger city series....wonderful stroller but too heavy and doesn't fold compact enough to hop on and off Disney busses (for us). A Peg Aria twin....ICKYYYY, felt like it was going to break at any moment. A Graco, good strong strollers, but big and bulky for vacations. A Baby Planet unity, again....good stroller but way way too tight to fold and unfold all the time, plus the 'steering wheel', while probably a great concept on paper, is a nightmare. It puts a LOT of turning pressure on that center post and ends up getting very weak (ours ended up breaking off).

So anyhow, I like the Joovy's and the Maclaren's...but everyone has a Maclaren so we went with the Joovy's for this year :) Love the look of the Koopers too....just couldn't find one locally to try out and no doubles :(

Thanks so much for all that info. I am really considering a Joovy. The Maclarens are very nice but do not seem to have a wide sit like the Joovys do. Maybe I am wrong.:confused3

ahhh! whatever you do don't get a maclaren. i bought the twin techno and hated it. the seats are so shallow and my 2 yr old always tried to get out. it's also pretty hard to open and the foam handles don't hold up well. we had a good experience with our first peg pliko p3 so we decided to guy the peg double aria. it's sooo lightweight..good for us b/c my kiddos are still little

We have the orange joovy caboose... I'm still not sure if I really "love" it or not.
We bought it when we had dd #2 and a 2 yr old, in early 2007.

I will just say it is "okay". Front doesn't recline the greatest and there isn't a ton of room for the "back" older child if the front is reclined at all.
That said, I used it a ton around the mall and while shopping.

When we went to disney last year, girls were 7 months & 2 1/2. We took our full size eddie bauer travel stroller for the baby and an umbrella for the older one. Bester resting for the baby, and we made use of the good storgage underneath.

The biggest dislike I had with the Joovy, was that when it was folded up, the wheels won't roll... So, if you will be using it on buses, trams, it is kind of heavy to "carry" it with you, instead of rolling up to the bus and jumping on.

Good luck!

We actually bought the Joovy Groovy 2 for the purpose of traveling to disney last year and other trips. We love it. Our sons last year were 1 1/2 and 31/2 and now they are 2 (25 lb) and 4 (30 lb) and we will be taking it again for our trip in Feb. They slept in it and I love the the sunshade. It is a very good stroller. I didnt want the sit and stand bc I was concernend about oldest son still needing to take a small nap in the parks then where would he sit. And it worked out best for us bc he did end up napping in it. Disney just wears everyone out!

We have the Joovy Caboose too, but I'm remembering that it does roll when folded up, cause I swear I have to pull the fine balancing act when storing it folded upright in our garage (I gotta get a hook and get that thing on the wall). Eh, either way (but I will check when I get home to verify).

We used ours for our June trip and it was really only cumbersome getting on the trams and on the boat from MK to the Poly. Otherwise it worked great. Felt really solid and smooth at first and I loved it. The wheels did start a little squeaking and creaking and the frame started flexing a little toward the end of the trip, no doubt due to the fact that our DD7 is over the rear platform weight limit (IIRC she's in the mid-upper 40's and the limit is 40 lbs). It was purchased new a month before our trip and we finally took it out of the box the day before we left. But we knew this going in, so it's not a negative on the Joovy.

(I'm now remembering when we had it folded up on the trams that it indeed does move when folded. I remember having to shove my foot against it and wedge the wheel between the seat and my foot, so that the stroller and the contents didn't smash into the people in front of me. I even think I cussed the thing out once or twice...in my head, of course. FWIW, we have the black & silver Caboose purchased at Babies R'Us. Not sure if that makes a difference.)

We have a Joovy Groove in lime green and love it!! It does have lots of features that you wont find in other comparable strollers like the Macs. It has a huge sun shade, rain cover, push button recline (life-saver!!), almost full recline with other positions, and it comes with 2 sets of seats and canopies. One of the best features for us was that the handles that you use to push the stroller are pretty tall so you dont have to bend down any to push. We actually compared the heighth to a Mac when we were parked next to one in a stroller parking at WDW. The Joovy was a good bit higher than the Mac. Im not tall or anything but after a long day of pushing a stroller every little bit helps. I have tons of pictures I could send you if you would like. I took some pics to show someone who was interested in buying one because when I was shopping for a new stroller I couldnt find many pics of the Joovys. The bright colors also make them easy to spot in a crowd like at WDW. Let me know if you need pics! I highly recommend the Joovy!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We went to Babies r us again yesterday and the only Joovy they have is trooper. Of course my 5 year old loves it even though a stroller was not her thing when she was little. My 2 year old wanted to push his sister all over the store........it was lovely. Anyway my husband loves the way the Maclarens fold up so quickly and how light they are. He said the Joovy was a little heavier than the Maclarens. I do love all the features of the Joovy though. The sales person said that Maclarens are a great stroller. The company is actually the company that makes the steel for the space ships so the sale person says. Decisions Decisions. I have a couple of more months to rack my brain.:rotfl:

I was going to buy a Maclaren before I went to Babies R Us and tried it out. Even the sales associate couldnt figure out how to make it recline when my son was sitting in it. It is some sort of tension strap that has to be let out. Since my son is a really good stroller sleeper that wasnt going to work. I wanted something that was easy to recline when he napped. The Joovy really isnt heavy when folded at all. I can carry it with one hand easily. I think the Babies R Us people are just biased towards the Macs because that is probably what they sell the most... they dont have alot of experience with Joovys and others. I was torn between the Joovy and a Zooper but the Babies R Us guy was clueless about either of them. I did tons of research and ended up taking a chance on the Joovy. It did not disappoint! It's always easy to find my bright green Joovy in of a sea of Macs lol.

Just a little heads up about the Joovy's. Now this could only have happened on our particular stroller, so YMMV.

Our stroller has been standing upright on it's rear wheels in the garage since our vacation ended at the beginning of July. Well, I pulled it out today to use it and one of the rear wheels had developed a flat spot from sitting for 2 months. So if you store it upright, you'll want to get it off the wheels.

When I get a chance this weekend, I'm going to take a heat gun to it and roll it around when it gets soft to see if the spot goes away. I hope it does.

I am purchasing the Joovy Kooper for my soon to be 18mos. old for our Disney trip. I have not been able to try it out because there are none close to me to look at. So I guess I'm going in blindly and hoping for the best. I didn't want to buy a MAC because of all the tipping issues I keep hearing about.

They have the Kooper near me at the Cherry Hill NJ Babies R Us. My daughter loved and she is 5.......lol. The sales person said not to buy it bc it was not made as well as the Maclarens. The Maclarens are made with the same materials that the space ships are made out of per the sales person. We did go with the Maclaren Volvo. I did not purchase at Babies R Us. I purchased it online for 79.99 plus free shipping. Good luck with your Kooper...........I did like all the features it has!!:santa:

We have tried out the same Joovy stroller to compare to a Maclaren quest at BRU. Our DD4 said she liked the Joovy better. I think you are right, the seat seemed wider for her. The volo is not an option for us because the stroller will primarily be for DS who is 7 months, so it absolutely must recline. But it also must be able to go up 55 lbs because at the end of the day, it will be much easier to carry him than her when they are both tired. Anyway, we were debating about both and then found out about the Zooper Twist in the unofficial stroller thread. We ordered it (untried) from costco online for $119 including shipping. They refund the price and shipping costs at any Costco, so we figure it's an easy way to try out a less expensive stroller without any risks. It also comes with a cupholder, rain cover, and UV screen. We're hoepful that it will be the stroller we need.

Should arrive sometime next week, so I'll be posting my thoughts about it on the stroller thread when it comes in.

Oh ... and the one knock we did have about the Joovy was the really thick black fabric. We were concerned about how hot our little guy would get in there during naps. Hubby compared though it looked like a wood stove that would bake the poor guy.
