Didn't they say in one episode that Jon's new job was for Beth's husband's company? If they are on the outs, then probably so is the new job.
I still like the show. Yes, they do get alot of free things, but that comes with doing the show. All of these reality families get free stuff. I think it must be difficult to raise 8 children, and good for them for being able to take them places and expose them to different trips and experiences, which they would never be able to do without the show. I say ride that train as far as it will go.

I also agree it is great to have a show all the kids can watch and I don't have to stand over them to make show it isn't inapprorpiate!

No kidding! I couldnt' imagine talking to anyone like she does let alone the supposed love of my life! But Jon is so whipped, what kind of person lets their spouse treat them like that every single day?? I want to tell her to back off and shut up...I wonder how much he's bitten back and not said?![]()
. I remember one episode they were writing a will and figuring out how to divide assets among the children and decided to give them the money at the completion of college or age 30. So they must have a lot socked away for them.
I don't know why I keep "defending" them - that's not really my goal here. I'm jsut surprised by what people read into things. I don't think making a will and designating how assets will be distributed means you are wealthy. This is really common in wills to keep the kids from just spending any money they might inherit foolishly. Usually it's in a trust until 18 or the completion of college and then has to sit untapped until they reach whatever designated age.
I'm sure J&K make tons more money than we do since we're not tv stars - but our will is done the same way. My sister is in charge of our controlling our assets on their behalf until they are 18 or out of college and then the money just sits until they turn 30. It forces them to go out and start making their way instead of possibly handicapping them with a little windfall at a time with they might not have found their way yet.
The amount doesn't matter at all. Most people who die unexpectedly young leave some assets, at the very least some insurance money.

I agree with you and I also still like the show. I would be happy for some free stuff, heck I would love a tummy tuck. Sure Kate can be uptight about some things but lets see how perfect any of us would be raising 8 kids
. I also don't think she is that awful to Jon. He gives her digs all the time too and he does seem like a bit of a slacker. Seems like the teasing is all in good fun to me.I agree. She's just type A personality. I am sure she was the same when they were dating.
I did watch one episode where Kate said that she was happy that the tv show was allowing her family to take these trips because she never thought it would be possible with 8 kids. What an oppportunity that they have been given!
You know what I just found incredibly funny? Kate dealing with 8 teenagers! Now, thats a show I want to see!![]()

LOL that what I love the Roloff sp?? They seem so real. They don't have a clean house all the time. That's what makes them real to me.Ithe future.
Look at Little People? Remember their house? NOW look at it. It's absolutely massive. They're living the high life as well. Too bad they won't hire a housekeeper though. They're still slobs!![]()

I do seem to recall one show early on about how they were "trusting in God" or something to that effect when it came to the kids college funds etc. I know last Christmas, she commented that it was hard to buy for 8 kids, and she was thankful for some viewers/fans who sent things for the kids. However, it sure doesn't look like they go out of their way to be frugal...but, again, if you get comp'ed for everything you do and all the places you visit...
Really, I felt it was very disingenuous to not acknowledge that financially they are doing very well. I have noticed in the more recent episodes, they don't seem to be complaining about the budget anymore.
Really?? Strangers not only know their names, they know their toilet habits, personality quirks, favorite toys, etc. There are some obsessive fans out there-just google Alexis Gosselin or some of the other names. Frankly as a parent I question the wisdom of turning the kids into "tv personalities" but I think J&K are looking at it from a financial standpoint.
