Jon and Kate tonight!

I LOVE Jon and Kate Plus 8 and I think that even with all the meltdowns those two are doing a really good job with their kids. I mean come on, if there were no meltdowns everyone at home would be complaining about how unrealistic the show is. But they let it all hang out with no apologies. Sure Kate has a few quirks but which one of us doesn't... We all have certain things that would drive us up a wall and others that don't bother us in the slightest. But to each their own. That being said I love the WDW episode and it gets me excited for my trip every time I see it. August here we come!

I do remember hearing Kate yell "Cop! Cop! Cop!" at one point during the trip and HAD to laugh... how many times have I done that to my husband during a road trip?!

OMG...TOTALLY! I was cracking up! :rotfl2: My husband and I do that ALL the time!

I love the show b/c it's REAL. Jon and Kate argue, they get p*ssy at one another, they love one another, they trip over toys, they confuse one another, they have kids that cry at dinner, they have kids that lie and hit one another...it's just so REAL.

Ok, to those that don't know the show- I'm probably being a bit more negative than it is...they play together, laugh together, hug one another...it's just a very real show- no faking or pretending. I feel like I connect with Jon and Kate so much.

i still can't believe with all her obsessiveness, Kate didn't plan to have a change of clothing for all the kids on the infamous "MK ice cream" day!!!

If she did, she would have had to carry a suitcase :rotfl:
I love Jon and Kate and had never seen the Disney World Episode so I was glad to finally see it.

TLC is a Television station that stands for The Learning Channel.

T.

Ps-BTW- I love Jon & Kate. Kate is my hero-I use so many of her ideas on tons of things from organization and healthy eating to planning a party and potty training. All of the kids are adorable but that little Maddi is a spit fire for sure; she reminds me sooo much of my 3yr old Madison. Must be a Maddi thing!

Thanks! I will have to see if we get that channel.

I love Jon & Kate and all the "8" and this episode is too funny! When they get into the room and get the ears and the little kids hear the letter/note from Mickey, I tear up! I'm such a disney sap but I know how magical it can be for all those "firsts" for little ones. Even with the CMs, if you watch the show, you know it won't take much for Kate to have a melt-down. But I don't blame her. Even with help, that's still a lot to keep under control and I wouldn't trust my kids to a CM regardless. I'd want to keep an eye on them still.
The cop, cop, cop thing had me rolling too! :rotfl2: I do that.. ::yes::
But I think that it is so great that they got to go to WDW. But, I don't know if they spent all the 5 days in WDW. They show that they went to Jon's aunt & uncle's for some time during the trip, it was in the deleted scene episode recently i.e. the first beach trip. They were getting pelted by sand in the windy weather and there was another melt down. :lmao: So that makes me think they weren't in Disney the whole time. I may be wrong though.

I haven't seen the deleted scenes episode either. I just assumed they didn't film the whole vacation so that they could actually have a family vacation like normal people do.

Seeing the hats and the note from Mickey when they got to the room made me tear up too - It's giving me ideas for things to do for my own kids' first trip next year!

I think by not bringing a change of clothing in for all 8 children, Kate was trying to let go of a little of the obsessiveness....It would be hard to do that knowing that every decision you make will be judged by thousands of people. I think Jon and Kate do an awesome job for a situation that would be overwhelming EVERY day!
I think with it being so hot (over 100 degrees), it would have been impossible for the ice cream not to be melted by the time the kids got it! She seemed very upset that the children had been given ice cream. Maybe she could have requested something different.
How cool that Disney made the special arrangements for them: Cm's, parade sections etc. It may have actually given them a little bit easier time to get things done with 9 children! (Her friends child also).
I say kuddos to her friend and her friends children for helping make their vacation possible! What great support!! It's not often you see someone willing to use their family vacation to help another family enjoy theirs!!
Maddie would try my patience. I think it's sad because Cara kind of gets left out on the fringes because of Maddies attitude...and Cara is SO good with her little siblings...she's awesome!!
How cute is "mommy Hannah"? What a little sweetheart!
Just a bit off topic, but I'm curious. How much of the trip do you think was sponsered by Disney? Do you think the meals were paid for? The rooms they had? Just curious!

I personally think every bit of their trip was sponsored by Disney; well except for transportation to WDW. Everything else tho, rooms, meals and special offerings such as Mickey Ears and one on one time with the Princesses.

T.

Ps. If anyone is an advid fan of the show you think back to every trip they've gone on since the show has started has been sponsored by someone/organization. The trip to California to speak at the church, trip to be on Martha Stewart's show, Oprah's show, the skiing trip to Utha; they've all been sponsored. Kate herself said in the show last night they themselves wouldn't be able to do half of what they do if it weren't for the kindness of strangers. I for one agree with her when she said that each chance they get to do things with their kids they'll do as long as they can. I don't begruge them any opportunity they have to see just what's out there for them to soak up.

My thought is sponsored...room, food, tickets.

They paid for souvies, transport to and from. Perhaps they paid for their own food but I seriously doubt it. Think of all the moms out there watching. Those with big families now thinking that DW with 5 kids IS doable...that marketing goes a LONG LONG way in DWs eyes. All they had to shell out was maybe 5-10K in free stuff and they have a marketing scheme that could net them 10's of thousands of dollars!!

That was my thought also. That disney did sponser the trip. But...what wonderful publicity!
I think it's great! They got to actually take a little time out of their every day lives and just have fun!! It was great to see that! Kudos to disney!

Wow - where to begin? We watch their program on occasion and are continually amazed with Kate. Melt-downs, OCD, obsessiveness, "big brat"...whatever you call it, she puts on quite a "show." Jon seems like a good guy and a great dad, and I respect ALL his efforts.

Sure, this is thread is about one year old, but a recent magazine headline said it all: "Mother to Monster."

I'm curious how her previous fans feel about her now... :rolleyes1

Don't get me started :rolleyes1

I never liked her. There was a marathon on TLC today and while I did not watch all day I caught a few parts here and there and she has truly become a more of a monster over time.

The whole Disney episode sickens me. Who packs a U-Haul full of crap like that? Then there is the whole ice cream meltdown :headache:

Good thing her kiddos will never come for a playdate to my house. We get dirty and messy and have FUN! My kid looks like Pig-Pen from Peanuts at the end of a day.

I will not now or ever look to her as a role model for motherhood or have a ounce of sympathy for her situation. There is that saying...you make your bed, now lie in it.

I do, however feel loads of sadness for the children. :sad2:

ALL OF THEIR TRIPS WERE PAID FOR BY THE RESORTS...SHE SAYS IT TIME AND TIME AGAIN ON HER LITTLE COUCH INTERVIEWS.

If you're ever curious about Jon & Hate + 8...just log onto Gosselins Without Pity...read away!:surfweb:

ugh...I can't read over there...it's all totally one sided and horrible. If Kate wipes Alexis nose they say, "why didn't she wipe Joel's nose" and if she wipes Joel's nose too they say, "did you see how hard she wiped poor Joel's nose" she hates the boys, only likes Hannah and Leah, blah blah blah....

My eyes start to bleed if I look at that site too long....which is why I don't!

:offtopic: Now to be fair, I don't watch the show, and to be honest I would barely know who these people are if it weren't for the recent scandal. That being said, wasn't it Jon who had the affair? Why all this ganging up on Kate. So you don't like her personality or mothering techniques, it was her husband that screwed up, in my opinion. Shouldn't he deserve the brunt of the scrutiny?:confused3

Yep...but to the Kate haters, it's HER fault that Jon had an affair. They really are a nasty bunch over at that other site.

i really like that episode. the only part i dont like is when kate gets all freaked out with the ice cream
